"...and twenty. There ya go boys," Marley declared, handing Max and Xavier their paychecks of the day. Taking his share gratefully, Max replied, "Thank you sir." Heading for the door, Xavier grabbed Max's paw as he called over his shoulder, "Have a great night Marley!" Chuckling, the cat retorted, "See you two here tomorrow morning."

Outside the store, Max and Xavier shook paws with one another. "Later man," Xavier spoke. Smiling warmly at his friend and fellow employee, Max answered, "You too bro." Without another word to each other, the two terriers headed off in separate directions.
