"MAX!" Duke cried, daring to creep out a tiny bit from where he had been hiding around the corner, clutching his wounded arm as he watched the smaller dog jump towards the concrete ceiling above their heads. Roaring, Xavier turned to try snapping Max out of the air. But he was too late.

Bringing his fists forward while tucking his head towards his chest, Max hit the concrete ceiling. And he hit it hard, causing a web of cracks to form. Falling back to the floor far below, he watched as the cracks growing bigger and bigger until, at last, the ceiling began to crumble and break. Everything seemed to move in slow motion after that happened. Eyes widening with fear, Duke quickly hid behind the corner again, avoiding the destruction. Xavier gave one last roar that was cut off as a giant section came crashing down on top of his head, crushing his skull and brain.

Meanwhile, Max had fallen on a bunch of lab equipment before the broken pieces of concrete came raining down upon him, burying him under a pile of rubble...
