Walking down the sidewalk, Max smiled and waved at every familiar face he encountered on his way to work. "Hey Xavier, still hangin' in there?" he called as he met up with a fellow employee. Laughing, the fox terrier replied, "You know I am Max, you know that."

"So is everyone else in this part of Manhattan," Max responded just as the two pals entered a grocery store. "Right on time boys," Marley called down to them from on top of a ladder. Pointing over to the cash registers, the cat spoke firmly, "Now get over there and do your job before I fire you."

"No way you would do that to us Marley, we're your favorites!" Xavier joked around with their boss. "I actually think he's serious dude," Max whispered, leading his friend away to their stations.
