Groaning, Max struggled to open his eyes. The Jack Russell terrier found himself tied up in a chair. Blinking his eyes, he saw that he was in a room with white walls, a table and another chair. To his right, Duke was tied up too. But strangely, it appeared that whoever tied them up had used chains made of titanium.

Just then, Max heard a door being opened. Confused, he looked up to see a chihuahua dressed in a black suit. Hopping up in the chair across the table, he placed his paws on the tabletop. Reaching up, he took off his sunglasses. Squinting, Max suddenly recognized that it was the same chihuahua who was helping Dante.

"You," Duke's growl brought Max's attention over to the mutt, who had just woken up. The other dog struggled against his bonds. Max watched quietly as his companion tried to teleport out of the chair. But he couldn't for some reason. Duke looked almost as shocked as Max as they stared at each other. Then they heard a laugh as another figure stepped into the room.

"Nice to see you guys after... what was it, four months?" Dante sneered, smiling wickedly.
