"Surprised?" Duke asked, leaning back in his chair. Max shook his head rapidly. Glancing to his left, he slowly nodded his head and bit his lip. The giant mutt laughed quietly. Thinking for a few seconds, Max questioned, "What's the deal with Professor Dante?"

Paw curling into a fist, Duke growled, "That idiot never believed Professor Cogsworth when he said that the experiment worked. I don't know where he came from other than Mexico but I never liked him. I guess he's one of those jealous scientist rivals of the professor." Slamming his fist down on the table, he went on menacingly, "I'm gonna kill him!"

"Why did I survive the experiment?" Max changed the subject quickly. Calming down a bit, Duke shrugged his shoulders and murmured, "I don't know... unless..." Scratching his head, he stared off into space. Max watched him silently, taking a step back.

Snapping out of his trance, Duke looked at Max and whispered, "You might just be like me..."
