Max practically jumped out of his skin. Frantically looking around, he saw Professor Dante wielding a large shotgun, the chihuahua at his side holding a pistol in his paws.

"I had enough of this!" Dante barked, pointing accusingly at Professor Cogsworth, who was laying on the ground at Max's feet. Yellow eyes gleaming, the Mexican hairless growled as he raised the gun, "The world shall not hear of what you have done. This was madness right from the start and you know it! And I have the proof!" The chihuahua held up the papers he was holding earlier.

"Traitor..." Cogsworth coughed, trying to get to his paws.

"No. You're the traitor," Dante snarled, firing the shotgun. Cogsworth fell again. Turning slightly, he now pointed the gun at Max. "Sorry about this," he apologized, putting his paw on the trigger.

Right before Dante could fire, Max felt someone grab him and the next thing he knew, he was outside in the pouring rain... on Ellis Island...
