Damen was sitting at a desk pulled up to his Algebra teacher's desk as he worked on some homework on the Order of Operations. He glanced at his teacher as Mr. Walker stood up and stretched. Mr. Walker was an energetic man who was fresh out of college. He was about 6"1, had a slight beard, friendly face, and dark brown hair with blue eyes.

  Mr. Walker sighed and smiled "Welp, I've gotta be heading out" he smiled cheerfully at Damen who returned the smile. "I guess I gotta as well" Damen stood up collecting all his papers. "I'll see you Monday" He pat Damen on the back and began gathering his stuff.

  Damen swung his backpack over his broad shoulders as Mr. Walker shut down his computer and shut down his computer. "Bye Mr. Walker" Damen waved as he left the room, his teacher looking up and waving. He trailed down the long hallway that eventually lead to the cafeteria, office, and gym. The front door was next to the office that had two large sliding glass windows and a door in the front that faced the cafeteria and the doorways of the gym on the opposite sides of the room.

  He waved to Katy, an office worker who did the announcements, answered phone calls, and cleaned up after school, she gave him a wide smile and waved back. Katy unlocked the front doors and Damen thanked her before making his way home. As he passed through the town he noticed it was disturbingly empty, no cars, all the shops were empty, no one walking around. He quickly raced home and found his mom cooking dinner "Oh hey sweetheart. We're having pork and potatoes tonight" she said looking over at where she was standing in front of the stove. "Ok" He smiled, glad his mom was still home.

  As he headed to his room to put his stuff away then go help his mother make dinner he began feeling tired. His eyes got heavy and he felt light headed. He got to his room and set his bag down before crawling into bed and curling up. Falling asleep as soon as he closed his eyes
