Okay y'all can come back 👍
Once we were dressed again, I couldn't help rub my face. "You know, I really hope they cut the cameras." I turned red. Beforehand when I was cocky and I was being controlled by my desire, but now I could only feel embarrassed.
"We did warn them." She shrugged, staring at me intently. "So, did you enjoy it?" She asked, and I nodded.
"It was fun, wasn't as scary as I thought. Did you enjoy it?" I asked her, and she seemed to start thinking about it, because her face turned pink and she nodded.
"But enough about that." She blushed and I did as well, nodding. "Let's go to sleep, I have a feeling we'll need it." She said, but this time she leaned against me, cuddling me. I kissed her forehead before closing my eyes as well.
Three weeks it's been, there are three floors left. After a week, Ares had started closing off floors, he said only 8 people had died through the first week after the first two days. "Maddy, we need to find somewhere to hide before more people come down!" I said, we were forced to go up a floor because ours was the first one closed, but then the three top ones. We had managed to kill a group of eight, but we were exhausted. We just woke up not long ago too.
"We have 7 hours give or take till dinner, Percy, I don't think we'll make it." She breathed out. She was covered in blood, she lost weight, both of us did. Our appetites have slowly died by dinner time, we were running low on energy, too.
"No, you have to make it, I don't care how many people I kill." I snarled, we leaned up against a wall, hidden from the stair case. She and I slid down, both breathing heavily. "You know you're the only one keeping me sane, if you die, so does everyone else in this building." I said sternly, it was true, we found that out. She had gotten injured a week ago, seriously injured, and I had murdered the group of people, I think 6 people effortlessly, strangling, stabbing, punching, I even slammed one's head on the table corner repeatedly.
"I'm still hurt, I can hardly keep up, that group we just fought, I only killed one of them, and hardly. I can't keep going." She shook her head, gripping at her side. I loved her, I had really grown to love her. It had only taken a few days of being with her for Annabeth to be erased from my mind, she consumed everything in my brain, I didn't care for anything else. Not even my friends.
"Then kill me, please, I can't do this without you." I pleaded and she shook her head, hushing me when we heard people running down. I hugged her, tears running down my face. I didn't feel stable, my one source of stability might be gone. "I'll protect you," I said quietly, wiping my face and kneeling on one knee, my other foot ready to force me forward, but nobody came over, they all slumped over on a different wall, they saw us but didn't care.
"We're tired, guys, I think we can sit this one out for a bit, rest up." One guy from that group said, and I noticed they all spread out, they weren't all one group, but they all agreed to sit out for a bit.
"That, I can agree with." Maddy sighed, resting a hand on my shoulder, I nodded, sitting back down.
"We agreed after we all eat and sleep, maybe wash up, we then can do what Ares intended." A different girl said, and we all nodded.
"Whoever makes it out of here owes Ares a friendly visit." I scoffed.
"You forget that not everyone can defeat a god, Percy." Someone said, and I sighed, shrugging. "Mr greatest swordsman," they smiled, we were all tense but we were all trying to keep calm, relax.
"That's not true, there's a lot of people better than me, I'm just a son of Poseidon so I have more powers." I explained, but they didn't care, some were already passed out, Maddy included. She really needed her rest if she wants to make it out of this. Soon it was just me and one member of each group awake, none of us trusted each other.
"I never thought I'd see you in here, Prissy." It was a familiar voice, and I was surprised, it was Clarisse, hiding in the crowd.
"Well we both know Annabeth would have if I didn't, and I couldn't let her get herself killed." I shrugged, and she nodded. "I'm surprised you're here, you know what your father is capable of." I said and she glared bitterly at the floor.
"He told us too, he didn't give us older kids of his much of a choice. He said we had to prove him the strongest, that he gave the strongest spawn. He didn't imagine you would come." Clarisse explained and I nodded.
"I don't want to win. I just got to make sure she does." I said firmly, and Clarisse looked at me in shock.
"Why do you care so much for her, you hardly know her?" She asked me and I looked at Maddy fondly, she has to make it out.
"She can go out and live a normal life, I couldn't no matter how hard I tried. When we were allowed guests, no one showed up for her, she needs to see her brother." It was true, she needs to see him, she needs to live a life I always wished I could.
"But what about your friends? Your mom? Annabeth?" She asked in shock.
"I put them all in danger, my mom will live an easier life if I don't make it out of this. Annabeth left me, the day before we found out what we signed up for. She said she didn't need me." I explained, which caused Clarisse to look at me in shock. Everyone else was now slumped, some barely awake, I didn't blame them, I was exhausted, too.
"Get some rest," she said silently, slumping and closing her eyes, but I couldn't let myself sleep. We're on a truce but I can't trust someone won't break that. Everyone was sleeping now, except for me, we don't know if anyone from the two upper floors will come on down like all these people did. Maybe they're resting, too.
It was a few hours before people started waking up, and it was clear they all felt a bit better, and clearly relieved as well, or until they saw the dead bodies on the bottom of the stair case. Some people thought they'd come down quietly and eliminate us.
"Who stabbed them?" Some girl I didn't know asked, and I raised my hand quietly. One of the bodies were at her feet.
"They were planning on killing all of us in our sleep." I shrugged, rubbing my forehead, I was exhausted, a bit wounded, but that was all, it was only 4 people this time.
"Thank you." She nodded at me and I smiled softly, gripping my arm. My shoulder had pretty much healed but it was still sore, but I had a pretty rough wound on my arm now, which was bleeding heavily.
