[033] ━━ sol hates surprises (hint: super duper False)

real life

YESTERDAY was non-eventful for Sol and Sena. They spent the entire day holed up in their hotel room doing various things; scrolling through Tik Tok, napping at random times as their body adjusts to a new timezone, texting the boys on the groupchat, flicking through the T.V. in their room, seeing if they could hook up to Netflix on the T.V. - they could - ordering room service whenever they were hungry. They relaxed, nerves still ever present in the bloodstream.

Eventually, well into the night, they met up with the boys in a hotel room, celebrating Dynamite's success. Sol was right, Dynamite was the song of the summer. It garnered 7.778 million first-day streams on Spotify, surpassing Taylor Swift in becoming the biggest debut song of 2020. Alcohol was definitely a necessity to celebrate this success! Dynamite even debuted atop the Billboard hot 100, which everyone was ecstatic over. The group also watched the Dynamite music video together. Sol and Sena loved the final cut!

The celebrate was short-lived because Sol and Sena wanted the boys to get some rest before their first show.

Sun filters through the curtains as Sol blinks awake. She hears the sound of water running - Sena was already up and showering. Sol sinks futher into her queen-sized bed, her face pushed against the pillow. She was still jet-lagged. She felt around for her phone that lay on the bedside table and checks her notification. She smiles to herself when she sees Namjoon's good morning text and selfie. She immediately sends one back, not caring about how she looked, because to Namjoon, Sol's always beautiful.

Sol spends her time scrolling through her various social media accounts, laughing at tweets or Tik Toks regarding her boyfriend and her friends, posts regarding Sena and herself - they'd slowly become somewhat of a social media influencer, although, Sol and Sena didn't like that title. Sol decides she should take some selfies today to post on twitter because she hasn't tweeted anything out since her graduation.

"Morning Pookie," Sena sings, stepping out of the bathroom fully clothed. She dries her hair with the towel, "you can shower now, I'll let my hair dry for a bit before I use the hair-dryer."

"Ever so thoughtful, my sexy bitch," Sol tells Sena as she passes by the older girl.

Sol sees Sena hold up her middle finger as she shuts the bathroom door. Sol and Sena were going to spend sometime in Santa Clara before the concert. They were allowed to go and stand around the empty venue while the boys spend their time doing mic checks and practices, but Sol and Sena wanted the concert to be a surprise to the both of them.

Eventually, the girls got out of the hotel and into their waiting Uber. They're dropped off in the center of Santa Clara and Sol immediately takes a photo of Sena. It was an ugly photo as the girl climbed out of the car, but Sol keeps it to post on Sena's birthday. "So, what are we doing?" Sol asks Sena as they slowly walk along the busy footpath.

Sena shrugs, "I don't know, we'll figure something out, I guess. We have a huge amount of time to waste, unless you want to spoil the surprise and hang around the boys."

Sol shakes her head, "nah, I like surprises."

Sena smirks, "I'm sure you do."

Sol slaps Sena, "get your mind out of the gutter, bitch."

Sena rolls her eyes and wraps her arm around Sol's swinging arm, "selfie time!" Sena takes a photo of them both, grinning to herself as she assesses the photo, "wow, we're so hot."

"Damn right," Sol answers.

The two girls wander around Santa Clara, taking photos, entering stores to look around but not buy anything, then leave the shop and carry on down the street. Both girls were thankful to be wearing footwear that suited walking for most of the day.

"Doesn't that stuffed bunny look like Jungkook?" Sol asks.

Sena glances over and smiles, "I reckon it does. Should we buy it for him?"

Sol already had her wallet out, "you read my mind!"

After buying the stuffed bunny for Jungkook, the two girls back their way down to a cafe for lunch. The cafe was nice and cool, compared to the hot summer heat outside. Sena and Sol were definitely going to have another shower when they get back to their hotel room. Sena reads the menu board as she and Sol talk about the concert. Sena also mentions how excited she is to use the private plane again, like, seriously, she's never been this excited to fly before. I guess, money does buy happiness in a way.

"Excuse me," an english voice breaks through their Korean. Sol and Sena turn to find a middle-aged lady smiling at them, "sorry to interrupt, but are you two here for the concert happening tonight?"

"Yes!" Sol answers for them both. Although Sena was fluent in English herself, but not as confident as Sol was. Also, Sol's pronnounciation was better and that all adds up to eight years spent in America before moving to South Korea. "We're super excited," Sol carries on, her eyes shining, "we've been waiting for this moment for ages." She nudges Sena who smiles and nods her head.

The lady's smile stays on her face and gestures to the pre-teen girl beside her, "my daughter's going tonight, she's really nervous about it - I don't understand why."

Sol and Sena laugh awkwardly, and smile softly at the embarrassed pre-teen. "I can understand that," Sena speaks up, telling herself she can do this - she's fluent in English! Why is she telling herself she's worse than Sol? Just because Sol didn't have to watch American Sitcoms like Sena doesn't mean Sena's shit at English. "I mean, going to a concert to watch people who inspire you every day is pretty nerve-wracking. Are you going with her?"

The lady laughs and shakes her head, "oh no! I don't think I'll be able to stand going to a concert, my ears are too sensitive for that. My daughter's going with her friends."

"The nervousness will pass once the concert starts," Sol assures the daughter, "it's going to be the best moment of your life!"

The conversation fades out after the mother thanks the two girls and talks to her daughter in a low voice. Sol and Sena finally are able to order and they move to the side to wait for their drinks, picking away at the sandwiches they got. "Ugh, I just want it to hit six already," groans Sena, a hand running through her hair, "I can't take all this suspense."

Sol laughs, "we can always go and ruin the surprise for ourselves."

Sena groans, "as tempting as that sounds because I'm missing Taehyung and Jimin a lot right now, lets just finish our lunch and head back to the hotel, my feet won't be able to hold me during the concert if we walk around any longer."

"Anything for Sena!" Sol exclaims sarcastically, earning a whack from the girl.

They finally make their way back to the hotel after lunch - they both thought the coffee from the cafe they went to was really good. This time, Sol beats Sena to the shower, leaving Sena to lie on her bed, feeling slightly cooler but still sweating from the hot summer heat. A soft smile slips onto her face as she texts Taehyung, telling him she can't wait to see him. He had texted her saying he missed her a lot.

Fast forward a couple of hours, and now Sol and Sena make their way backstage, twos hour before the concert is supposed to begin. Lanyards lay around their neck, showcasing to staff that they were allowed backstage. Arms linked, the two girls try to find the boys. It takes a while, but eventually, they hear loud laughter and decide to follow the noise.

"Hello bitches," Sol announces their presence.

The two girls were tackled with hugs from Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon and Jin. The other three boys were still getting their make-up and costuming done. The already loud and excited voices increase in both volume and excitement levels from the four boys in the room. "How big is the line?" Jimin asks, slumped beside Sena on the couch.

"Massive," Sena tells them, "like holy shit massive. It's going to be insane out there."

"You're in the VIP seats, right?" Jin asks.

Sol and Sena nod their heads, "but we don't have to be - right?" Sol asks.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can go anywhere. Why are you asking?" Namjoon asks Sol from beneath her. Sol was sitting on his lap, his arms that encircle her waist keep her back pressed to his chest. Sena's eyes soften at the sight of them, they look so comfortable with each other. Sena's glad they worked things out otherwise this whole friendship group thing could've gotten messy.

"I might want to experience the pit one show," Sol says, "just for the experience."

"I'm not joining you," Sena tells Sol, "it looks scary, all those screaming fangirls shoving you - ugh." Sena just shivers at the thought of being in the middle of a crowd that's constantly pushing you for a chance to earn attention from the performers on stage.

"No, you're coming with me! I want you to take a video of me just standing in the pit as everyone screams and jumps around me. It'll go viral on Tik Tok."

Sena rolls her eyes, but doesn't try to defend her stance. Her argument will go nowhere with Sena.

"I'll save you, Sena," Jimin says giving Sena a lopsided smile.

Sena affectionately pats Jimin's cheek, "I know you will, superman."

The last three boys eventually join the group in the green room, everyone's moods are evidently bright and energetic - it still amazes Sena and Sol how Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung are able to keep their energetic and bright spirits up day after day, even in a new time zone, or after a gruelling practice.

An hour before the concert is supposed to begin the nine all part ways. Sol and Sena giving their boyfriends goodbye kisses and the others looking on with disgust. "Get a room," Jungkook mumbles as Jin and Hoseok try to hide their laughter.

"I need to use the bathroom," Sol tells Sena, "I don't want to pee my pants like you've done numerous times."

"Shut the fuck up. I hope your ass gets glued to the toilet seat - better yet, I hope there's no toilet paper in the stall."

Sol rolls her eyes and they two of them walk over to the bathroom, which didn't have a long line - just yet. As Sena waits for Sol to finish peeing, she wanders over to the numerous merchandise stalls and other stalls spread around the lobby. Sena feels stares as she walks through the crowds of people but she ignores them like the pro she is. Sol eventually joins Sena as she stands in a long merchandise line.

"Thinking of buying something? Really? We can get it for free, Sena," Sol cackles, throwing her arm around Sena's shoulders.

"I want to see how pricey they are, shut up," mumbles Sena not telling Sol she was right. She feels like she owes the boys a little bit of money for everything they're doing for them both.

In front of them, Sena notes how the two girls who look around fifteen/sixteen keep stealing glances at Sol and Sena, and after stealing glances at the girls that totally aren't obvious, they whisper to themselves. Sena's not in the mood to deal with a jealous fangirl, so she ignores their stares and pulls Sol into a conversation to pass the time.

Finally, Sena reaches the front of the line and glances over the merchandise, she picks up a key-chain that's cute and buys it, much to Sol's distaste who tried to convince Sena to buy a shirt that Sena would never ever wear.

Walking away from the table, Sena stumbles into a girl and water is poured all over her white and now very see-through top. Gasping, Sena steps away, wiping her hand across the wet fabric. Looking up, she finds the two girls who were in front of her in the line standing there. One girl had red cheeks while the other, holding a now empty water bottle, looks on smugly.

"Sorry," the water-bottle girl says, clearly not sorry, "but maybe you should watch where you're going."

"Listen here you little -" Sol's getting ready to cuss and throat punch the girl, but Sena rests a hand on Sol's forearm, silencing the young girl who was ready to beat a bitch up.

"Sol, don't bother. It's just a little jealous sabotage, let's go backstage, I'm sure the boys will have something lying around," she pauses and takes a good look at the teenage girl in front of her, she gives her a smile that spoke volume, "I'll be sure to give the boys your kind regards." Sena squeezes the water-bottle girl's shoulder as she walks away from her.

"Sena that was so sexy of you, are you sure Taehyung doesn't have a degradation kink? Because I certainly have one now!" Sol exclaims to Sena, whose cheeks were heating up. Sena didn't know if it was from anger from the jealous teenage girl or embarrassment from Sol's words.

Reaching the green room, which was thankfully empty, Sena quickly strips off her soaked white top while Sol searches for a spare top lying around. Sol quickly finds one and Sena tugs it on - it smells like Jimin, so it was already comfortable on her skin. "Alright, let's go to our seats."

They walk out the way they came and into the main arena, making their way over to the VIP seats. The two girls greet the other fans there enthusiastically, launching into conversations with them as they wait for the boys to appear on stage. After a long wait, the lights finally dim and the familiar starting of ON begins to play. Chills spread throughout Sol's body.

She was so fucking ready to scream her heart out.

Watching the boys perform for thousands of screaming fans is a memory Sol won't ever forget. She won't forget how energetic and charismatic they were on stage, how they interacted with their fans, how Sena sobbed as Jin sung Epiphany - I mean, what else was Sena supposed to do? Everything about the concert was beyond words for Sol. She loved it so much, pride exploding in her chest. Those were her boys up there, performing to a sold out crowd.

Sol would hug the boys if they weren't sweating. She's a hygienic girl and she really doesn't want to shower for the third time today. Gripping onto Sena's hand tightly, the two girls walk amid the chaotic halls backstage as they find the boys all seated, some sat on the chairs and couches, while others lay or sat on the floor.

Sena's mom insticts kicked in and she crosses the room to Jimin who sat on the floor, his back against the wall and his head drooping forward. He looked completely exhausted. He was holding up a miniture fan, which Sena takes and holds it to the back of his neck. "Thank you," Jimin mumbles, his hand reaching for Sena's.

Sena squeezes his hand, "anything for my superman." She shares a soft smile with Taehyung across the room, as Sol helps Jungkook in wiping off his makeup. Silence fills the room as the girls and other staff members help the boys cool down and change out of their stage clothes and makeup.

"How was the performance? Was it good?" Jungkook asks.

"No," Sol says, "you guys were incredible. Show-stopping. You blew me away."

Sena hums in agreement, "I got chills."

The boys share smiles with each other. They looked proud.

"Oh, Jin, Sena cried when you sang Epiphany," Sol tells the older boy, earning laughs from everyone in the room. Sena flushes bright red and gives Sol the finger, mumbling to herself.

"Isn't this your top, Sena?" Hoseok asks, appearing in the doorway with a wet white top. "Oh, yeah, thanks," Sena stands and moves over to Hoseok, taking the shirt from him, frowning slightly.

"Wait, why are you wearing my top?" Jimin asks, puzzled.

"Oh, just a little spillage, don't worry about it," Sena waves off the puzzlement and concern pouring from each boy in the room.

"Little spillage my ass," Sol growls, "some ARMY bitch spilled water all over Sena on purpose. You should've heard Sena though, she was all like 'I'll be sure to give the boys you kind regards,' or somthing like that. It was hot."

"It was nothing," insists Sena, "I know ARMY are better than that, alright? I've had worse happen to me."

"That's true," Sol agrees.

"We'll see you back at the hotel, yeah?" Sena says softly, smiling at the boys.

"Love you bitches! You were all so sexy onstage, but we'll talk more about it at the hotel!" Sol exclaims before getting pulled away by Sena.
