[009] ━━ sol and sena aren't idiots! (hint: it's actually true!)
real life
AMERICA was totally different compared to South Korea. Lee Sol felt like a cockroach as she wandered the streets of New York - well, not really a cockroach, but just some type of bug that no one likes. A bug that holes itself up in some unwanted place. She felt like a total disaster as Sena kept a firm hold on her arm, not wanting Sol to wander off and cry in the middle of an angry New Yorker crowd. There were times where Lee Sol was thankful for Jeon Sena, and this was one of those times.
New York at night time was totally different. Sol couldn't help but gape at the tall buildings, the massive streets, the bright yellow cabs - how was this all different to Seoul? Sol now knows why so many people move to America for a better life, but, Sol being Sol, would never move to America. She would never move to a place where Jungkook isn't - where Sena, Namjoon, Hobi, Yoongi, Jin, Jimin and Taehyung aren't. She wouldn't move to America because her family isn't there.
"We're going to be late, thanks to you," Sena was berating Sol, all because she needed to poop - isn't pooping more important than some talk show? Sol wouldn't want to sit in a chair with uncomfortable bloating because she wasn't able to poop. Sena just had to suck it up. Just like how she sucks on deez nuts - okay, so maybe Lee Sol has a problem. She'll never admit it though.
"No we aren't, calm down, bitch." Sol responds as their destination comes into view.
Sena doesn't respond and rushes into their destination, happy that they got there on time. Eventually, they were seated and Sena felt stressed. She hopes their friends don't mind this surprise - she imagines their happy faces. It was enough to soothe her worrisome thoughts. Beside her, Sol plays a game on her phone, unbothered. Sena still can't figure out Sol and she still doesn't want to figure her out, in fear she'll end up dying or something like that.
Sena's heard nothing but good things about James Corden from the boys, so she's hoping this show will be enjoyable, maybe even talk to James Corden before the show starts - Sena doesn't know how talk shows work, she's never been on one, nor, in the audience of one. There's a first for everything! Her stomach churns and her phone buzzes - it was Taehyung. He was calling her.
Startled, Sena declines his call. Fuck.
Taehyung texts her, asking whats wrong and why she won't answer his call. Sena doesn't know what to say, so she doesn't respond. Her heart beats louder. Oh god, what if they figured it out. What if they can see her and Sol sitting in the audience. They weren't seated in the floor seats, thank god, that was one less stress Sena had to deal with, but they were seated in the front row of the bleacher stands.
Sol turns to Sena and rolls her eyes. "Calm down, seriously, they're gonna love the surprise and they aren't spying on us through the cameras, alright?"
"You're scary, Sol," Sena responds, "you can read minds. Please stop reading mine."
Sol laughs and nudges Sena's shoulder, "loosen up, we're going to have fun tonight cheering on our boys. They deserve this."
Sena smiles softly, "I know."
After a long wait, the show starts and Sol has to put her phone away - boo! She had almost completed her game! Sure, she might be watching James Corden, but right now, her games more important and it wasn't like she wasn't ever going to see BTS ever again. She sees them pretty much everyday because she has clingy best friends. (She's definitely not clingy). (Her friends would say different though!)
It was a long wait until the reason they're in America arrived; their boys. Their best friends. Sena got chills watching them arrive and she's never gotten chills - okay, maybe she's gotten chills a few times when Taehyung's touched her gently, but aside that, Sena rarely ever gets chills. She's not a scaredy cat like Sol is. Sol's the biggest pussy out there.
Pride explodes through both of the girl's chests. There was a wide smile on Sena's face as she cheered loudly for them, admiring them as they sat underneath the stage lights - Sena knows their stylist never misses with what they're dressed in. They're constantly outshining their last look, they constantly impress Sena, they make her feel insecure about her own style, maybe she should pay their stylist to style her. Or, she could just ask the members from BTS for help, too.
Sena and Sol's hands were turning red from how hard they were clapping for the boys. Okay, so, maybe they should stop cheering for them but why should they? Oh, that's right, maybe there was a talk show going on? Sena grabs Sol's hands, pausing her clapping and pushes them down to Sol's lap. "Let's them talk."
Sol rolls her eyes, "they haven't even noticed us yet, Sena! Are they stupid?"
Sena snorts and pats Sol on the arm. "You'll be able to see your Jungkookie smile soon - or whatever the fuck you call him."
"We literally don't have nicknames for each other?"
Sena shrugs, "whatever you say babe."
"I have never wanted to murder someone so badly." Sol retorts under her breath. Sena simply ignores her younger friends, noting how the lights had dimmed so there was a fifty/fifty chance their friends would even be able to spot them - but Sena had faith in them as she listened to them converse easily with James Corden, intent written across her face. She loved listening to her friends talk, she knew how much things like this meant to them. They deserved to be here, they deserved to go on their world tour, they deserved everything that's been given to them, everything that they've been working so hard for.
If Fate was real, her friends, the members of BTS, definitely had plenty on their side.
As their interview with James Corden came to a close - they were going to perform Black Swan later during the show and Sol was literally about to scream with excitement, she loves that song - Sol couldn't contain herself, her applause was loud and proud as the boys happily waved out to the audience. Sol was up off her chair, raising Hell. Beside her, Sena was trying to contain herself. She was better than Sol - right?
Ah, screw it.
With the two girls drawing attention to themselves, one of the boys was bound to look at them - Jimin was the first to spot them, his eyes trying to make out the figures darkened by the lights, but when he makes out the shape and faces of Sena and Sol, his eyes were wide and there was clear and pure happiness sprinkled across his face. His face was alight and both of the girls felt warm on the inside. It had only been a couple days, but oh man, they had missed each other like hell.
Whispers are passed around the boys, and soon the remaining six members had learned the news; Sol and Sena were here. In America. In James Corden's studio. Disbelief was written across their faces until all six of them saw the two girls with their own eyes. Sol and Sena were battling their own inner demons, they were strapping themselves to their seats, begging their bodies to not run up to them and hug them. God, Sol can't wait to hug them all, let loose of her insults for a moment and just enjoy the moment with them all. Her successful boys.
Sena was content in knowing that the boys knew she was here with Sol. She pulls out her phone and records herself and Sol - she was making a youtube video and banking on the fact that BTS will be in the video so she could pull some numbers on her youtube video - she already has plenty instagram followers for being a known friend to BTS, so why not tease them more with a youtube video of them? Ugh, Jeon Sena was literally a mastermind. No one is doing it like her!
Time passes by, quick texts were sent in the groupchat, which Sol and Sena answered, stupid smiles on their faces. God, Sol hates feeling this euphoric, where's all the disgust and hatred she usually feels on a daily basis? Why can't she think of any insults? It just doesn't make any sense, I mean, come on, why was she getting soft all of a sudden? I mean, it's not like she was watching her friends become more successful. Right?
Their performance of Black Swan was literally god like, Sol still can't get over how talented all her friends are, and there she is, a fucking journalism major who sucks at math. Still, she persists in her dream of becoming not only the sexiest, but the best news anchor to ever exist in South Korea. Go Lee Sol! That'll show her misogynistic dad!
It was kinda funny to Sol and Sena, that to end the show, BTS would be playing Hide and Seek with James Corden and Ashton Kutcher. Sol feels kinda sad to be sitting out a game of Hide and Seek, but she told herself that she would enjoy watching the misfortunes of her friends with a smile on her face. Eagerly, she watches them all hide, giggling to herself. "Namjoon hid in that curtain over there," Sena points to the curtain near them. Sol's face lights up - she so wants to tell James where Namjoon is hiding, she thinks it'll be funny. "I'm gonna tell James where he's hiding."
Sena whacks Sol, but Sol ignores the whack. Come on, loosen up Sena! But then Sol remembers, she needs to get Taehyung to do that for her. "Where did the others hide?" Sol asks Sena, her eyes surveying the set in front of her.
"Jimin hid under the desk and Jungkook's blended in with the camera crew."
"Why does Jimin like hiding under things?" Sol asks, grinning and thinking back to all their games of Hide and Seek they've played together.
Sena shrugs, "maybe he just like tight spaces."
"Don't say it," warns Sol with a threatening look.
"I wasn't planning on it." Sena responds with red cheeks.
Jimin was found first and Sol laughed uncontrollably. It was probably one of the funniest moments of her life, watching Jimin get caught first. She takes a photo and sends it to their groupchat, roasting him in the text bubble underneath the photo. Sol can remember all the fits Jimin had whenver he was found first, he was such a diva and Sol still doesn't understand why him and Sena are like two peas in a pod - then Sol remembers, they're both drama queens. They're both divas.
Second, was Taehyung and Sena grins widely, planning on teasing Taehyung about it later. She wasn't going to lie, he looked good tonight. His stylist really outdid themselves - wait, why was Sena thinking. . . Somewhat romantically about Taehyung? Hello? Aren't they best friends, weren't they going to speak at each other's weddings? Be the best aunt and uncle for each other's children? Where was all of this romance coming from? As quickly as it came, Sena brushes it off and pulls out her phone, zooming in on both Taehyung, and, Jimin.
"JAMES!" It was Sol, shouting for the older man's attention, and she earns it. "Namjoon's in that curtain," she tells him, a wicked smile on her face. He thanks her and rushes off to reveal Namjoon, a wide grin on his face. Sol sat back in her chair, satisfied with her day's work.
"Happy?" Sena asks Sol, giving Taehyung a small wave as he looks her way.
"Never been happier," confirmed Sol.
Next to be found was Suga, followed by Jin, who was thrown over Ashton Kutcher's shoulder - Sena felt kind of jealous. Imagine being thrown over Ashton Kutcher's shoulder. She's a bit envious of Jin, she'll have to ask him about it later, get him to tell her how Ashton felt, how he smelt, what he moved like. All Sol wants is the photos Jin has in his hand.
Ashton Kutcher then found Jungkook, but with the help of Namjoon. Sol reckons that without Namjoon telling Ashton where Jungkook was, he would've never been found. Hiding in plain sight. Jungkook was always good at that - until he texted on the groupchat, giving away his spot. But, as Ashton brought Jungkook so his side, in walked James with Hobi.
"Damn," Sena says, "I kinda wanted Ashton to win. Maybe it's my old crush on him coming back."
Sol rolls her eyes, "Sena you're a sucker for old white men."
"Am not!" Sena says indignantly. (She hated how right Sol was).
"okay, whatever you say, babe." Sol pats Sena's head and stretches her feet out in front of her. "Right, so, how are we supposed to meet up with them?"
Silence follows. "Uh," Sena says, her mind a maze, "I didn't think that far ahead." And for once, Sena was being honest about her train of thought. Sol slowly exhales through her nose; she should've expected this. Sena's bad at planning things. Sena needs help with planning things. "Okay, look, just text the groupchat and we'll go from there, alright? Man, I should've expected this shit -"
"Jeon Sena and Lee Sol?"
Their heads turn at the same time, finding an unfamiliar man standing in front of them, wearing a t-shirt that obviously told them that he worked for James Corden. "Yeah, that's us," Sena says, her heart racing. Was this where they died? Oh, Sena hopes that this isn't where they die because she had so much left to live for.
"Come with me please," he says, turning and walking off. Sol shares a look with Sena - were they expected to go after him? Wasn't stranger danger a thing? Sol guesses not in America, she prays to the God above that he won't tell her parents about this because they'll definitely punish her about wandering off after a stranger. Sena pushes Sol impatiently, even though she too, was hesitant to follow the man. Sena was literally praying as they walked away from the set of the show and down unfamiliar corridors.
For some odd reason, neither of the girls realized they were going to meet their friends. They were both too busy focused on trying to survive whatever was about to happen to them. Sol and Sena are idiots, and this truly confirmed it. But, it only dawned on them when they stood in front of a door with three single letters; BTS. Oh. They felt majorly dumb.
Sol shoves Sena, "say thanks."
Sena wants to murder Sol. But, she thanks the guy anyway and opens the door, finding seven boys who mean the entire world to her, hitting each other with pillows - how they got seven pillows? Sena and Sol will never know. Everything after that is one huge mess; both girls are embraced harshly, a swarm of bodies envade their senses and all Sena and Sol can feel is the warmth emitting from all seven bodies. It feels like pure heaven to them both.
"Ask questions later," Sol demands, "I'm so exhausted! And hungry, let's go eat somewhere."
Jungkook's arm was thrown around Sol's shoulder casually, while Sena stuck to Taehyung's side, her wide, adoring eyes staring up at him. She was happy he was happy. "Oh! Also! I'm videoing this whole experience and then putting it on youtube because I deserve all the clout from being friends with you seven."
"I didn't expect anything less, Sena." Namjoon says.
