Manik:- I want to marry Nandini.

Raj slapped his forehead and called Neonika who was in the kitchen, cooking lunch for them.

Raj:- There we go. Neonika did you hear your son?

Neonika:- Nope. What is it?

Raj:- He wants to marry Nandini.

Neonika:- (excitedly) Really? I am calling Pandit ji right now.

Raj:- (whispered) Like mother, like son.

Neonika:- Did you say something?

Raj:- I said what's so hurry Manik? Don't you think it's too early to get married?

Manik:- I don't know dad. I am feeling like something bad is going to happen and I am going to lose her. I don't want to lose her dad. I want her to be with me always. But I can't force her either.

Raj:- But marriage isn't a way to keep her with you forever. Tell me one thing, do you really love her or do you just want her to be with you?

Manik:- (frustrated) Why is everyone asking me the same question today? How will I define love when I don't know what love is? How does it feels to be in love? I never saw true love anywhere. It's either physical attraction or so-called true love that changes after a certain time. I might be confused about my feelings but I will keep her happy dad, because she is really very important to me. Her wounds hurt me, her pain makes my heart bleed. One word against her is enough to make me crazy.

Raj and Neonika both smiled at him, seeing his unconditional love for Nandini. Love? Yes, love. It's love but a darker shade of love which he was unaware of.

Manik:- What? Why are you smiling?

Raj:- This is love Manik. Your care and concern for her, your craziness for her and most importantly your fear of losing her. This is love but….

Neonika:- Manik when we love someone we need to trust him or her. We should set them free not to cage them and suffocate them because of our insecurity.

Manik:- What if she leaves me? I will die without her.

Neonika:- If she loves you truly, she won't leave you ever.

Manik:- (cutely) Sacchi?

Neonika:- (smiled) Sacchi mucchi.

Neonika ruffles his hair lovingly. Then Manik said,

Manik:- She said to Aryaman that she loves me. Then she won't leave me right?

Manik was definitely behaving like a kid. He was thinking if he doesn't love Nandini then she will leave him forever. But he doesn't want to lose her. It's his love or obsession, he wants her to be with him always. He just wants assurance, that's it.

Raj:- What she says to others doesn't matter, what she feels for you that matters.

Manik:- Wait, I am going to ask her.

Saying this Manik ran upstairs when Neonika said,

Neonika:- Remember Manik, you can't force her to say yes. Give her some time to think.

Manik:- Okay Mom.

In Nandini's room

Manik just went inside without knocking and found her standing in front of her dressing table just in a towel. Seeing him, she immediately covered her body with her hands and said,

Nandini:- (shouted) Manik there is a thing called knocking. Can't you knock before coming?

Nandini was shouting on the top of her voice but Manik was lost in her beauty. He never lust for her body but he did feel physical attraction towards her. Seeing him standing like a statue Nandini again said,

Nandini:- (angrily) Manik, are you even listening to me???

Manik somehow controlled himself and turned his back towards her.

Manik:- I am sorry. I...I just got too excited to ask you something so…..

Nandini:- What you wanted to ask so desperately that you forgot to knock?

Manik:- If I ask you that right now, you will beat me with your new branded shoes. So it's better for me to take a leave. Bye.

Saying this, Manik just ran out of the room leaving Nandini confused about his behavior. She turned towards the mirror to apply moisturizer on her skin and found her towel not on her body. She was so busy shouting at him that she didn't notice when the towel slipped down from her body. She slapped her forehead and said,

Nandini:- Shit….

On the other side

Manik was standing under shower. Seems like even cold water wasn't able to calm his nerves today. Whenever he closed his eyes he was seeing her.

Manik:- Shit. That girl will be my death for sure.

Next day
At college

Manik was done with his classes and going towards the parking lot when a peon came there and said,

Peon:- Manik Malhotra, Professor Raghav Sinha is calling you in the chemistry lab.

Manik:- Chemistry lab?

Peon:- yes he is talking to our chemistry professor there and told you to meet him once after your classes are over.

Manik:- Okay.

Manik went to the chemistry lab and as soon as he entered the room someone silently closed the door from outside.

Manik:- Professor Raghav? Where are you?

Voice:- He isn't here.

Manik turned back hearing a familiar voice and was shocked to see the person.

Manik:- (confused) You???

Voice:- Yes it's me, Soha Khurana.

Manik:- What are you doing here? And where is Professor Raghav?

Soha:- Most probably gone home by now.

Manik:- That means you tricked me?

Soha:- Aww Manik you are so clever and that's why I love you the most.

Manik:- Bloody hell.

Saying this, Manik went to the door and tried to open it but it was already locked from outside.

Soha:- (innocently) What happened baby? The door isn't opening?

Manik:- (angrily) Soha, don't play with me. Just open the door damn it.

Soha went to him, warped her hands around his shoulders and said,

Soha:- not so soon, baby….
