Abhi:- Mr. Malhotra I don't like to beat around the bush. So let's just come to the point. Did Manik actually killed his own brother???

Raj:- Pratik wasn't his biological brother.

Abhi:- (confused) What do mean?

Raj:- Manik mera beta nahi ha. He is my elder brother's son.

Abhi:- But he calls you Dad right?

Raj:- Even he didn't know the truth until he heard our conversation few years ago.

Abhi:- Then who was Pratik? And why he killed him?

Raj:- Pratik was my son and for your kind information Manik didn't kill him. It was an accident.

Abhi:- Then why he said that he killed Pratik?

Raj:- Because he believes that he killed Pratik.

Abhi:- This is so confusing Mr. Malhotra. Will you please tell me everything clearly? 

Raj:- Okey I am telling you everything. While giving birth to Manik my sister in law died. My brother used to love her so much and after her death he went in depression and started drinking day and night. We tried to stop him but he never listen to us. He didn't even took Manik in his arms for once as he thought because of that kid he had to lose his wife so Neonika used to take care of that new born baby. Manik was only one years old when my brother died from liver cancer and we officially adopted Manik as son. Then Neonika became pregnant and god blessed us with a boy. Manik was always so jealous of Pratik because he used to get maximum attention from Neonika. Manik was so demanding and stubborn when Pratik was calm and compose. They both used to fight a lot and Manik always used to break Pratik's toys in anger. Pratik used to cry so I had to scold Manik. It's not like I was partial towards Manik. I loved them both equally but still Manik used to complain that I love Pratik more than him. It was Manik's birthday and we were busy with party arrangements. Pratik and Manik  both were playing on the terrace when we heard them fighting again, we ran upstairs and saw the most horrible scene. Manik pushed Pratik. His back hit with railing and it broke making him fall down. Manik was standing there and seeing this he fainted.

Abhi:- It's wasn't his fault.

Raj:- I know but….

Abhi:- But you used to beat him and lock him in the dark room just to remove your frustrations, isn't it?

Raj:- Not really. Do I look like a sadist to you? I never rise my hand on him without any reason. He was stubborn and always used to cross his limits which triggered me to hit him and I didn't know that he is scared of darkness. I thought it was his drama to skip from the punishment. 

Abhi:- When he got to know that he isn't your son?

Raj:- Few years ago me and Neonika was talking about something when Manik came home to give a surprise to us. He heard everything and since then he started developing BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). We used to get compliant from his school. First we ignored it as it was regular thing for him to get involved into fights but when a psychiatrist came to his school to visit them he got to know that and we were informed about his mental condition.

Abhi:- That poor soul had to suffer a lot. Do you know why Nandini became his only obsession?

Raj:- No.

Abhi:- Because she was the only one who helped him to come out of that darkness. He loves her a lot but always fail to express it. Don't try to take her away from him, he will actually die without her. Anyways I want his previous medical reports and If possible please send him to my cabin tomorrow. I will take a leave now, bye.

At Night

Manik was still unconscious when Nandini came there and beside him. She took his plam and kissed on his bandage.

Nandini:- (crying badly) Why Manik? Why you always hurt me like this? Then you hurt yourself more. It's not the solution. You have to take treatment for you, for us. Why can't you understand that?

Nandini kissed on his forehead and left the room.

Next Morning

Everybody was having breakfast when Manik came there and said,

Manik:- I am not sorry for yesterday's incident.

Raj:- I am not expecting a sorry either.

Neonika serve him breakfast. Manik tried to eat something but he couldn't. He was feeling guilty for misbehaving with Raj and Neonika. On top of that Nandini wasn't talking to him. Life can't be more complicated, isn't it? He stood up, wiping his hand and said,

Manik:- I am going to college.

Neonika:- But you didn't eat anything.

Manik:- I am not hungry now. I will eat something from college canteen. 

Raj:- You have an appointment at 4pm. Don't forget that.

Manik:- I am not interested to go there.

Raj:- I won't force you. But if you change your mind just call me, okey?

Manik:- (confused) Why do you still care for me?

Neonika:- Parents always do care for their children.

Manik:- But I am not your son right?

Saying this he left there without making any eye contact with his so called parents.

At college

Manik:- Nandini listen I am sorry, okey? I didn't mean to hurt you like that.

Nandini:- Manik please don't create any scene here?

Nandini went to the library and Manik was following her when he banged with someone and she fall down.

Girl:- Ouch….

Manik:- Oh shit. I am so sorry.

Manik forwarded his hand towards her for help but she stood up by her own and said,

Girl:- It's okay. I am Soha, remember we meet at hospital?

Manik:- Oh yes Aryaman's sister. How's he now?

Soha:- He is doing fine. But what happened to your hands?

She held his plams in her hands and examined his bandage. Manik was stunned by her action.

Soha:- It must be hurting right?

Manik felt weird at her behavior. Isn't she too sweet to him?

Manik:- No, it's not. I have to go. Bye….

So guys how's the twist? I know Raj's character need to be justified more and about Nandini I am trying to show her emotions too. One side her love for Manik other side his dominating, impulsive behavior everything is taking troll on her. Poor girl I am feeling sad for her. Overall is it up to the mark?
