Millions of emotions were running through their minds and hearts to which they didn't have any answer. What are they doing here, one being a guest and the other receiving him. Were they supposed to be like this? Lovers to Strangers..!!

What is she doing here? How can she just appear from nowhere when she left him already to flow in a pool of pain? Why is she in Paris? What's her relationship with Adyant Murthy? Was she his grand-daughter? Was that the reason why he felt so connected to Adyant's family? Moreover, why is his heart still beating to its highest just like how it used to, 10 years back??

What is he doing here? How come he's standing with her grandfather? What relation do they share with each other? How can he come back in her life when she's trying so hard to forget him? How is she gonna behave sane around him when she was the one gave him the pain?

Lots of Whats, Whys and Hows but..

They didn't have even a single answer to it!!

Manik's family's condition was no less. They were shocked to see Nandini in front of them after 10 long years. How?

Adyant: Nandu...Meet them.

Adyant's voice brought everyone back to the real world from their thoughts.

He held Nandini by shoulders making her to look at him and Manik stared at it in nostalgia. Its just like how Cabir used to hold her.

Adyant: I told you about my friend Dhanraj, right?

Nandini nodded at him while having a slight idea of what coming next.

Adyant: Ye uska pariwar hain. Uska beta Raj hai yeh.

He pointed at Raj making Nandini to look at him in surprise and she had to gulp a lump that formed in her throat due to awkwardness on seeing the same family which she left years back.

Adyant: Aur yeh, Raj ki beewi, Nyonika, beti Mukti aur uska husband Abhimanyu.

Nandini stared at Mukti, who looked at her painfully making her to look away, but her gaze went up to Abhimanyu, whose eyes were teary which too shattered her heart.

Adyant: Aur ye hai Manik, Raj ka beta.

Nandini stared at Manik with her eyes welled up and he stared at her right back, but his pair of eyes had, accusal, pain and anger. His gaze never shuddered her but warmed her soul and even after 10 years, that effect hasn't changed a bit.

He's the same Mani!!

Just like the way she loved!!

Adyant: Aur yeh, Naila, Raj's grand-daughter.

Nandini stared at Adyant in shock.

Did he move on? So easily? Was it so easy for him when she couldn't even after 10 years.

Abhimanyu: Mathlab, meri beti.

Nandini stared at Abhimanyu, who had an emotionless face and took Naila in his arms from Manik.

Abhimanyu: Naila Abhimanyu Thakkar.

She didn't know when she heaved a sigh of relief, at the same time, she wanted herself to be right too. He should have moved on.

He should have forgotten her, if not, he's still waiting for her which won't happen.

Which can't happen!!

While, Naila was staring at Nandini with widened eyes. For sure, she have seen Nandini's pictures, Manik's room is filled with her pictures and the little girl who always sticks with her uncle have seen them, have adored them and now seeing her in real made her feel so happy, happy for her Mamu.

Adyant: And this is my granddaughter. My daughter Nalini's daughter.

Raj turned to his family, who looked at Adyant in shock while his condition was no less than them.

Adyant: Waise, ek aur hain. She has a brother, Cabir. Nandu, kaha hai wo nalayak?

Nandini (tried to smile): Andhar hain, in his study.

Manik, Mukti and Abhimanyu could feel the hope in them rising.

Adyant: Then, come inside.

Nandini walked ahead with Adyant beside her and the rest followed her inside still in the daze..

"Naanu aaya hai kya, Nandu?" someone's voice could be heard, and it didn't take a second for the rest to identify it.

Nandini (muttered): Bhabi is gonna hate me more after this unexpected meet.

Navya looked up while walking towards Nandini to get frozen in her place. She stood there rooted to the ground and stared at her family in shock.

Her eyes too welled up, especially on seeing her bother. No matter how much they tease each other, but he was her support system, her protector and she left him in pain.

She didn't think about anything before flinging in his arms and crying out.

Navya: Bhai..!!

Manik hugged her back tightly and his tears rolled out of his eyes making Nandini to look away with her eyes filled with guilt and pain.

Manik: You still look like a bhoothni when you cry..

He joked once breaking the hug making Navya to chuckle. He pulled her cheeks while kissing her forehead lovingly.

Manik: I missed you.

Navya (in tears): I missed you too, Bhai..I'm sorry!!

Manik nodded in No while wiping her tears and smiled at her on getting this little happiness back after 10 years of his life.

Adyant: Ho kya raha hai, Navya beta?

Navya turned to Adyant and that was the moment reality hit her. Her family was standing in front of her, in Paris, with Adyant.

How is it possible?

Like a reflex, her gaze went up to Nandini with concern filled in them who didn't even try to look at her back in shame.

Raj: Navya meri beti hain.

Adyant stared at Raj stunned.

Raj: I've already talked about a daughter who doesn't stay with us to you, right. Its her, Navya Malhotra who is now, Navya Dhawan.

He stared at his daughter longingly and she hugged him too. Nyonika, with tear filled eyes caressed Navya's head making her to hug her too. Finally, she hugged her best friends, Mukti and Abhimanyu too.

Adyant: Raj?

Adyant who was out of trance looked at Raj in astonishment, who nodded at him.

Adyant (sighed): I never knew my daughter-in-law would be that daughter of yours whom you always miss.

Navya (scared): Dad..talked about me?

Adyant (cheerfully): Of course, he did. The daughter who had to leave her family to live with her husband. I don't blame you, either. It was written in destiny.

Navya nodded meekly. She too has spoken to him about her family that how much she loves them but had to leave them due to Cabir and Nandini who wanted to shift to Paris and Adyant has asked her to call her family to NEST but she refused...like always!!

While, Nandini stood there in a dilemma. She didn't know how to react on each and every mystery unfolding in front of Adyant.

Naila (smilingly): Aap Navu maasi ho na?

Navya stared at Naila in surprise while Nandini smiled for the first time after meeting Manik and his gaze travelled up to Nandini, immediately on knowing how much she loves kids.

Mukti (smiled): Our daughter.

She pointed at herself and Abhimanyu and Navya smiled widely.

Navya: Really? Oh my God, she's so beautiful.

Navya kissed Naila's cheeks who smiled cutely at her.

" Mom...how does it look? " Alishka jumped down the stairs making Nandini and Navya to sigh in disbelief.

Nandini/Navya: Ashu, be careful.

They looked at each other and then at Alishka, who was grinning sheepishly as she hasn't seen her guests yet. She ran to Navya and held the sketch up.

Alishka: How is it?

It was a portrait of Cabir, who looked like an arrogant businessman with a stern look on his face making the Dhawan ladies to sigh.

Navya (smiled): Beautiful.

Alishka (cutely): See, I knew it. Buaa..

She moved towards Nandini and held her drawing up while batting her eyelashes cutely making Nandini to pull her cheeks.

Nandini: Of course, its beautiful. After all, its Bua's Ashu's drawing.

Alishka gave a toothy grin to her and the rest were gaping at the little one.

Adyant (dramatically): How about a cheek kiss from me, Miss Dhawan?

Miss Dhawan! That snapped them out of their gazes for Alishka.

Alishka: Big Naanu..!!

She flung into Adyant's arms, who twirled her around making her giggle. She kissed his cheeks who kissed her cheeks back affectionately.

Alishka: I missed you, Big Naanu. How could just think of leaving me when I'm your love? Don't talk to me.

Adyant (pouted): I'm sorry, My Love. I had to attend an urgent meeting with Cabir on that day. Warna, mein thodi mera pyar ko chod saktha.

He sighed dramatically at the end.

Alishka: Hayee, I'm so lucky to have you.

She too sighed dramatically before giggling with her grandfather.

Nandini and Navya too smiled lovingly at the duo. Navya walked towards Alishka who jumped in her mother's arms.

Navya: Who's this?

Navya stood before Raj and Nyonika and spoke to Alishka, whose eyes twinkled in joy.

Alishka: Naanu and Naani..!!

Raj and Nyonika smiled amidst tears on seeing their granddaughter for the first time, when she's actually a grown up little girl.

Raj took her in his arms and kissed her face madly and Nyonika too hugged her affectionately before placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

For sure, Naila is so dear to them but blood is blood. They too craved to have their own blood's grandchildren which they thought wasn't possible.

Nyonika (smilingly): Navu..her name?

Alishka (pouted): Arey, why are you asking Mom, Naani. I'll introduce myself. Hello dear Naanu and Naani, myself Alishka Cabir Dhawan.

They chuckled at the cute bundle of joy. Manik walked forward and forwarded his arms and Alishka grinned at him before flinging in his arms.

Alishka: Handsome Maamu?

Manik looked at her amused.

Navya (giggled): When I showed your photo to her, she named you handsome Maamu.

Manik laughed before kissing her cheeks lovingly and Nandini hid her tears back on wanting to see a similar scene between him and their kids.

Navya: Aur ye kaun..?

Aishka: Mukti maasi aur Abhi chachu.

They too smiled lovingly at her.

Mukti: She really got your eyes, Navu. The same hazel brown.

Mukti pulled Alishka's cheeks, whose gaze went up to Naila, who was also looking at her back.

Alishka: Alishka..

She forwarded her hand towards Naila, who immediately held it in hers.

Naila: Naila.

Alishka (pouted): I never heard about you, I'm sorry.

Naial (cutely): Neither I did. Sorry.

Navya and Mukti giggled at it.

Navya: Its because you guys weren't known to your mothers too. Now, you can get to know each other.

Alishka: Yup, she's my friend now. But haan, you need to be friends with m..

" Mamma....." someone screamed which got Nandini's attention. She turned towards the door to see Karthik running towards her.

Mukti (excitingly): You have a son too..?

Navya kept quiet and stared at Manik in fear and then at Nandini, who looked distracted with her son's shout.

But unlike Alishka, the boy ran towards Nandini.

Nandini (worriedly): Karthi, what's wrong. Sab teek tho hai...

She was interrupted by Karthik who started to twirl her making her feel dizzy.

Nandini: Oh God. Karthi, stop twirling me.

Manik was about to move towards her to hold her as he knew it makes her feel dizzy quickly but what he heard next slipped the ground beneath him.

Karthik: Mamma, I'm soo happy.

The Malhotras stood rooted to the ground. Mukti looked at Navya who wasn't meeting her gaze but stood scared.

" Mamma.." it was Manvik and Prathik, this time, who ran to Nandini and took her from Karthik's hold and twirled her.

Nandini: For heaven sake, will you guys tell me what's the news before twirling me?

Boys: We're permitted to do live concerts!!

Nandini looked at her kids in surprise which turned to a happy smile.

Nandini: Really?

They bobbed their heads while grinning and she hugged them tightly while kissing their heads.

Nandini: It's a happy news.

Alishka: Really?

She rushed towards her brothers after getting down Navya's arms.

Alishka (excitingly): Like how?

Prathik (smirked): Guess what? We're far better than any damn bands!!

Alishka ignored his self-obsession and started to jump in joy.

Alishka: Like finally..!!! Oh my God, Big Naanu is really a lucky charm..!!

That was when they noticed Adyant's open arms and it didn't take a second for the guys to hug him making him fall on the couch nearby.

Adyant: Yar, kithne heavy hogaye tum log. Kam khaya kar.

They got up and glared at him. Nevertheless, they hugged him again and he was about to kiss their heads making them clasp his lips with Manvik's palms.

Manvik: Oh man, you're not kissing us, for sure. That's ew..

Adyant (bad face): Mamma kiss karegi tho love baaki logonke kiss "ew"..

Karthik: So? She's our Mamma. She holds that right.

Prathik: Stop being jealous, Big Naanu. Like your name, you're already big but don't enlarge your jealousy too.

Adyant (glared): Pitega tu..!!

Boys: Nope..!!

Adyant (whined): Nandu, dekh na tere bache kis tarah se baath kar rahe hai mujhse.

Nandini (sighed): Naanu, kabhi tho bade jaise bath karo.

The kids chuckled making Adyant to sulk.

Manik: Mamma...?

His voice had anger in it and this made Nandini to get out of her trance. She looked at him in fear.

So, she moved on..!!

She couldn't even meet his gaze. What is she gonna answer him when she didn't know how to react upon his arrival too?

Prathik: Who are they?

This got both Manik's and Nandini's attention and turned to Prathik who looked at the "guests" confusedly.

Adyant (smiled): Oh, they're with me.

Manvik (raised his eyebrows): With you?

Adyant (nodded): Yup, that's Raj, my friend's son and with him stood, his family.

Adyant introduced them to the boys too which they ignored royally and concentrated in Manik, who's gaze was on them as well as their mother which made them uncomfortable and angry.

Adyant: They're staying with us.

Boys: What..?

They stared at Adyant in shock, who looked at them in disbelief.

Adyant: Suna nahi hai kya? They're staying with us, they're here for a tour.

The boys looked at each other and then nodded while Karthik looked the most displeased. He looked at his mother who by now have understood his problem and glared at him which made him sulk. He hates to mingle with strangers.

Adyant: Aur ye hai mera sena, Karthik, Manvik and Prathik, Nandu's sons.

Manik gulped the lump in his throat and stared at Nandini who looked down to control her tears. He stared at her throwing daggers of pain at her thinking she betrayed him while his family too mirrored his expression.

Alishka (excitingly): Wow. I'm so happy. I'm getting a new friend too.

She moved to Naila and held her hand in her grip making the boys to roll their eyes at her excitement.

While, Manik watched Alishka with a faint smile. The bubbliness that she got is from her Bua.

Adyant: Chalo, baatein baad mein, you guys need to freshen up. Nandu, kamra dikhao sabko.

Nandini stared at Adyant in horror. She didn't want to be with this family for now, not alone at least.

Prathik: Arey why would Mamma do it? We're there to help them.

Manvik and Karthik too nodded making Nandini to scrunch her nose at her children.

Nandini (thought): When did they become so polite? Is something wrong?

Adyant (stunned): So much of changes?

Manvik (sarcastically): Any problem, Mr. Murthy?

Adyant (shrugged his shoulders): Of course, not.

Karthik: Cool, let's move ahead.

Manvik took Alishka's hand in hers and pulled her along with the boys which made Naila sad as they were standing together till now.

Manik was still busy in staring at Nandini venomously when Adyant's voice boomed.

Adyant: Manik beta, kuch chahiye?

Manik nodded in No and followed the boys along with his family.

Upstairs

Manvik: This is your room Mr and Mrs..er..?

Raj (plainly): Malhotra.

This made the kids to snap their heads at them in surprise, but they chucked it thinking they can't be the only Malhotra.

Prathik (curtly): Okay, so this is your room Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra. We'll be having our breakfast at 10 a.m. You're welcomed to join.

He walked ahead with his brothers without bothering to wait for their reply and Nyonika kept staring at them before disappearing in the room give to them while the rest followed the kids.

Alishka: Bhai, meet her, my new friend, Naila.

They heard Alishka speaking to her brothers, who was gripped in Karthik's protective embrace.

Naila smiled at Alishka and then at boys to which they simply nodded and looked ahead making Naila to crook her eyebrows in displease at their attitude.

Manvik: And this is your room.

Mukti (coldly): Thakkar, it is.

Prathik: Whatever it is..!!

They walked ahead making Mukti to gape at them in shock and Abhimanyu fell into a nostalgia. Nevertheless, they too got inside.

Naila: I'll stay with Mamu, Mamma.

Mukti looked at Manik thinking he needs some space but he picked Naila in his arms and smiled at her in assurance before walking away.

Mukti (thought with anger): How could you do this to my Bhai, Nandini? I will never forgive you for moving on from him. For hurting my Bhai.

She banged the door close while with the kids and Manik, Alishka gripped Manik's one hand making him to smile at her who smiled back at him cutely and this irked the boys. They never shared her with anyone apart from their family.

Alishka: Mamu, today..

Karthik: Mamu?

That was the first time, Manik heard him talking after moving towards upstairs. He kept thinking why he didn't open his mouth but only his brothers did, though his brothers voice were filled with nothing but attitude and pride.

Alishka (slapped her head): Oops, I forgot to introduce you guys. Meet him, Manik Malhotra, my Mamu. Mamma has talked about her family right, once she has showed me their pictures too. I told you that I will show the pictures but you ignored it. Anyhow, now you're meeting them in person which is more than enough.

The boys nodded at her and then stared at Manik, who was also staring at them back and this time, something stirred in their hearts which they ignored.

Manvik: Here it is.

They stared at the room in displeasure. It was next to Nandini's bedroom which made them look at each other.

Karthik (whispered): Let's take him to the other room which is at the end of this wing, its not like we're asked to give them such particular rooms.

The boys nodded excitedly and turned to Manik to see him inside the bedroom with Naila and Alishka blabbering to him non-stop.

Manvik (pissed): He's already settled.

Prathik: I should have guessed it after seeing that little girl. She's a copy of Ashu, dude. They occupied him in their talks that he didn't even ask us before entering inside.

Karthik (groaned): So what? Let's get him outside. Its our home.

Manvik: I think it will take us to trouble. He's Naanu's guest.

Karthik (frustrated): Damn, what are we supposed to do? I won't let him near our Mamma.

Prathik (smirked): Let him be. If he does anything which doesn't please our Mamma, then I'm ever ready to do my favorite job.

He caressed his fist and looked at his brothers who gave him their devilish smirks.

Manvik: Why not!!

Karthik knocked at the door making the trio to look at them. Manik was busy in his thoughts while girls were talking to themselves.

Manvik: Ashu, let's go. Mamma might be waiting for us.

Alishka got out after hugging Naila and the boys gave a weird look to each other.

Prathik: Did she meet her after staying away from her for nearly 25 years ?

Karthik and Manvik chuckled at it.

Alishka: Done, let's go.

She moved ahead leaving Manik and Naila behind. On seeing Naila walking inside the bathroom, the boys turned to Manik.

Manvik: A free advice, Mr. Malhotra.

Manik stared at them in surprise on their audacity.

Karthik (glared): Stay away from our Mamma!!

They walked away leaving a shocked Manik. He stood there with his jaws dropped down in shock on seeing those little kids who had the power to threaten Manik Malhotra unlike those who couldn't even look in his eyes.

Well, Nandini was an exception but seems like her kids also come under this category.

Her kids?!

That made him angry and it hurts him the most. How could she think if moving on from him? How is it so easy for her when he couldn't even look at any other girl once she left.

He was introduced to many girls by his parents and friends thinking he might be able to move on from Nandini but that never happened. Neither he fell for any of those nor he felt like he could see his future in them unlike how he always sees it in her eyes.

If he could see his future in her eyes, then why didn't he see it happening? The misery that happened with them.

He banged the door close and smashed the vase beside him and thumped on the floor.

Manik (painfully): How could you, Nandini? How could you betray me? We were so happy with each other. I loved you. Wasn't my love enough that you thought to leave me? Was it so easy for you to move on with some other guy? Why? Why did you do it with me? Ahhh...

He pulled his hair in frustration and sat there lost in his thoughts for a long time.

Downstairs

In Kitchen

Nandini was preparing coffee, but she wasn't present in her surroundings. She was staring at the void with her eyes welled up.

His arrival just brought their memories out which she never thought will come back. His eyes had pain in them. He was accusing her for moving on.

Moving on?!

She chuckled at it.

All these years, she was thinking to know the meaning of it. She has seen many girls who breaks up with their boyfriends with whom they used to be serious but later on, she used to see them with some other boys too which made her think was it so easy to love on from someone you love!

And she did get the answer, when she fell in love!

When she fell in love with Manik, she knew he's not just her first love but her last too. She knew she can never give her heart to or body to someone else. She knew, he's going to be the last in everything and he proved it too.

Till now, there's no guy in the world who could gain her attention, who could provide the happiness that he used to give her, who could love her the way he loves her. Then, how can she move on from him?

She can't but he believed her to have moved on!

" Nandini " someone shrieked and pulled Nandini back making her aware of her surroundings.

Nandini: Bhabi..aap.k..kya hua?

Nandini watched Navya switching off the gas stove where her coffee has smudged.

Navya (scolded): Dhyan kaha hai tumhara? Agar sahi waqt pe nahi aayi tho patha hai kya hojatha? Jal jaoge tumhara haath.

Nandini looked down and mumbled a "sorry" to which Navya sighed. She held Nandini's hand in her's making her to look at Navya.

Navya (softly): Tum teek ho?

Nandini managed to nod her head.

Navya: Its okay, Bhai ko kuch nahi patha chala. He thinks..

Nandini: He thinks I've moved on!!

Navya stared at Nandini who's eyes have welled up again.

Navya: Does it bother you, then?

Nandini looked away and nodded in No.

Navya: Tho mere aankhon mein dekh kyu nahi paa rahi ho?

Nandini snapped her head at Navya who smiled faintly at her.

Navya: Tum nahi dekh paoge. Kyunki, tum janthi ho tum galath ho aur mera Bhai sahi hai. Kyu?

Nandini turned away from Navya and the traitors slipped out of her eyes.

Navya (calmly): Kabhi kabhi, logonko ye bhi jaanna hai bhagwan jo bhi karthe hain wo maanna zaroori nahi hain.

And Nandini knew what she's talking about. Navya walked out without caring to listen to what her sister-in-law has got to reply.

Nandini (muttered): Mera bhagwan bhi galath tha but...bhagwan, bhagwan hotha hain.

Breakfast Table

Adyant settled on his seat and soon, his grandchildren too settled beside him.

Adyant (annoyed): Kaha hai mera stupid grandson?

Cabir: Yaha hai, mera dramatic naanu.

Cabir walked towards Adyant who hugged him tightly and patted his hair after kissing his forehead.

Adyant: Hamesha mujhse milne keliye late ho tum.

Cabir: Ab kya kare. Aap hamesha galath waqt pe aathe hai.

Adyant glared at him, who chuckled and sat on the other head-chair.

Adyant: Raj kaha hai, Navya beta?

Adyant asked to Navya who came with trolleys of food along with Nandini.

Cabir (frowned): Raj? Kaun Raj?

This made the girls to slip in nervousness.

Adyant: You will meet him, anyhow. So, let it be.

He stopped Alishka from saying it out as he himself wanted to introduce his best friend's son to his grandson.

Karthik (irritated): Now, listen to us. Mamma..

Nandini turned to her kids.

Manvik: Food..

Prathik: Is Life..

Nandini sighed in defeat.

Cabir: Correction again. Life is Food.

They grinned at him again but they will never change that phrase but there were some people who stood there gaping at the scene happening in front of them and they were Malhotras and Thakkars.

Manik kept staring at Cabir and the boys with a lot of emotions going on in his heart. He didn't know when he started to rewind his moments with his ex-best friend.

Mukti and Abhimanyu too stared at them in agony.

Adyant: Lo..aagaya Raj.

Cabir snapped his head at the point where his Naanu was gazing only to sit still in shock.

Cabir (murmured): Manik..!!

He stared at his used-to-be-best friend with different emotions at different times. His eyes had longing for his friend, anger, pain and also..guilt in them.

Navya and Nandini stared at Cabir expecting anything in reaction.

Raj and his family walked ahead making Cabir to stand up from his seat while staring at them sternly.

Adyant: Raj, meet him, Cabir, my grandson.

This made Cabir to look at his grandfather.

Cabir: And they?

Adyant: Oh, he's my best friend's son, Raj and this is his family. His son Manik, his daughter Mukti and her husband Abhimanyu.

Cabir looked at Mukti and Abhimanyu who were giving him the same expression which he got from Manik, making him to look way and balled his fists.

Adyant (narrowed his eyebrows): Waise tu aise bath kyu kar rahe hain jaise tum inn logonko janthe nahi?

Cabir looked at Adyant in shock who still looked at his suspiciously.

Cabir: What do you mean?

Adyant: Arey, don't you know your wife's family? You would have met them in India.

Cabir breathed a sigh of relief and nodded at Adyant.

Cabir: I just..wanted to know how you know them.

Adyant (joyful): Oh, that's because of my unexpected meet with Raj, last year. He's here for a business collaboration with Murthys.

Cabir (shocked): What?

Adyant (nodded): Yes. Raj, khade kya ho, beit jaa.

Raj nodded and signaled his family to take seats without creating a scene in front of Adyant to which they obliged.

Unknowingly, Manik had to sit beside Manvik, who spared a glance at Manik and then turned back to his food.

Adyant: So, like I said, Raj is here for a collaboration. It was mine and his father, Dhanraj's wish to have a company in collaboration and today, Raj is willing to make it happen. His son, Manik will assist him and I need Cabir and Nandu to assist me.

Cabir and Nandini stared at Adyant in shock while Navya hid the happiness that formed on her face.

Navya: Mathlab, Dad, you guys are going to stay here for a longer period, right?

Manik smiled at her excitement while Cabir stared at Nandini, who was looking down.
