Manik's pov

Huff finally I completed my work at the office and came home. I directly fell on the couch and didn't realize when I dozed off.

"Manik, wake up."

"I am so tired, let me sleep."

"First have your dinner then go back to sleep. Come on, wake up."

This villain type dad of mine will never let me sleep peacefully. I somehow dragged myself to the washroom, freshened up quickly and had my dinner. I was damn hungry. I saw dad sitting on the couch and reading a business magazine. I sat beside him and hugged him tightly.

"How did you manage to do this much work in a single day?"

"Aww my baby is tired?"

"Yeah. On top of that Nandini isn't talking to me nicely. She is angry with me because I lied to her."

"Well that's a big problem. Why don't you go to her place and keep standing in front of her house?"

"Come on dad, be practical. I am not some roadside romeo, who will keep standing in front of his lover's house until she agrees to marry him. This is so filmy."

"Then what are you planning to do?"

"I don't know. I just know that she is a hard nut to crack and it's not an easy task to pacify her."

Next day
At office

"Cabir, if we collaborate with this company then we won't get much profit. Tell Nandini to cancel the meeting."

"Okay."

Cabir was about to go when I got an idea.

"Cabir, wait. Don't inform Nandini that I have canceled the meeting. Tell the receptionist to inform them."

"But why?"

"Cabir, my friend, just do as I said and don't cancel the reservation at the restaurant."

"Oh so you want to take her for a date? You should have told me that."

"I should tell you so that you can pass this spicy news to my dad right?"

"Okay, chill. I won't inform him."

"That's so great of you. Now will you kindly do as I said?"

He bowed down and saluted me dramatically. He is such a joker but very good at heart. I shouldn't admit it in front of him that I am very lucky to have a friend like him otherwise he will dance on my head. I was lost in my thoughts when Nandini came in my cabin and said,

"Mr. Malhotra, we should cancel this meeting."

"Why so?"

"If we collaborate with them then we won't get much profit."

I know, baby. I suppressed my laughter and kept an innocent face otherwise she wouldn't agree to come with me.

"Still we should hear from them. Let's see if they can convince us or not."

"It's useless to meet them. They have nothing to convince us of this deal so it will be a waste of time."

"Well we should give a chance to people unlike you."

Okay call me an arrogant jerk, yes I am. I think she got the hint as I found her gritting her teeth. Aww she looks so cute when she gets angry. I was busy admiring her when she left the room slamming the door behind. Ouch she will break my door someday.

At the restaurant

We were sitting there for half an hour. She was tapping her foot continuously.

"See how irresponsible they are? We are waiting for them for half an hour and they are nowhere to be found. Let me call them."

"No wait. I got a message. They have canceled the meeting."

I grabbed my phone and faked it. But she was clever enough to get my trick.

"But I didn't hear any message tone."

"My phone was on silent mode."

"Okay, let's go back to the office then."

"As we are here, let's have lunch then go back to the office."

"But...."

"I am so hungry so no more arguments. Let's order something."

I called a waiter and placed my order. I think she doubted me but who cares. After a long time, I got some alone time with her. Let's just live this moment fully.

Few days later

"May I come in sir?"

"Yeah sure."

"Sir, you called me?"

"Yes Ms. Sharma."

"Please call me Inaya."

Inaya Sharma our new receptionist. From the very first day I noticed her. She always tries to seduce me and today she just crossed her limits by insulting Nandini in front of the whole office. How dare she call her a slut? She also said that Nandini got a promotion just because she could satisfy me on the bed. When I came to the office Nandini wasn't there. Trust me my blood boiled when I heard all this from Cabir. I have to teach her a good lesson.

"Whatever it is, you are fired. Just get out of my company."

"But sir, what did I do?"

"How dare you insult Nandini?"

"Oh okay. Now I got it. Sir just forget that Nandini. Trust me I can satisfy you more than her."

She came towards me doing a catwalk. I felt disgusted at the same time I was angry. What did she think of herself? I roared like a wounded lion.

"Shut up. Just shut up."

She didn't expect this kind of reaction from me and silvered for a moment. She tripped over the chair and directly fell on my lap.

"What the hell?"

At that moment Nandini entered the cabin without knocking and found us like that. I immediately stood up, making her fall on the floor. She hissed in pain but I cared less. I rushed to Nandini and held her hands.

"Nandini, trust me what you saw wasn't true. I can explain everything."

"What's there to explain?"

Her eyes were filled with tears. Shit she completely misunderstood me.

"Nandini, Nandini please listen to me."

Nandini jerked my hands off and ran away. I stood there like a statue. Yes she was hurt but she should have given me a chance to explain everything. I pulled my own hair in frustration when my eyes fall on that bitch who was rubbing her back. I called Cabir and said,

"Come in my cabin right now."

Cabir immediately came to my cabin. He noticed my messy state and said,

"What happened, Manik? Are you okay?"

"Throw her out of my office and make sure she doesn't get job anywhere."

Cabir sensed the seriousness in my voice and immediately dragged her out of my site. Nandini, please don't get me wrong. Trust me, I love you a lot. I can never cheat you. Please come back to me, please......

3 days later

I was sitting in my cabin when Cabir came there and said,

"She didn't come to the office today."

"Enough of this nonsense. I am going to her house."

"Manik, wait. We have to arrange your security before you go there."

"Do hell with your security."

I went to the parking lot and took my car keys from the driver and left. Cabir immediately took another car and followed me. I stopped my car in front of Nandini's house and got out of the car. I called her but she didn't receive my calls. So I shouted loudly,

"Nandini, I know you are at home. Come down, I need to talk to you."

Hearing my voice Nandini came to her balcony and she was shocked to see me standing there.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you."

"There is nothing to talk about. Go away."

"I won't go anywhere until you come down and talk to me."

"Then keep standing, I don't care."

Saying this she went inside. Cabir came to me and said,

"Manik, how long will you keep standing here. She won't come, let's go home."

"I will keep standing here until she comes down and talks to me. If you want you can go, I don't need any security."

"At least let me hold an umbrella for you. It's so sunny and warm here."

"No need."

"Manik, why are you doing all this?"

"If she doesn't want to give me a chance then it's okay but she can't accuse me for something that I never did."

"What will I say to Raj sir?"

"That's your problem not mine."

At Night

I was still standing in front of Nandini's house. Cabir brought lunch and dinner for me but I didn't have any appetite to eat. When Abhi returned home he saw me and came to me.

"Manik, what are you doing here?"

"I want to talk to Nandini."

"Then why are you standing here? Let's go inside."

"Nandini doesn't want to talk to me. So I will keep standing here until she comes down and talks to me."

"She is so stubborn. I don't think she will come down. I will talk to her and convince her to talk to you. You are looking so tired, you should go home and take a rest."

Before I could say something Cabir jumped into the conversation and said,

"He has been standing here since the morning. He didn't even have his meals. If Nandini is stubborn then he is stubborn ultra pro max. I don't think he will move an inch from here. Why don't you go and convince her right now so that he can go home and rest."

"Seriously Manik? I don't know whom to blame. Anyways I will try my best to convince her that the rest depends on her. I can't force her to meet you."

I knew how stubborn she was. So I said,

"Tell her I won't go anywhere until she talks to me."

"Okay."

Abhi went inside and after a few hours he called me and said,

"Manik, I tried my best but she doesn't want to talk to you. You should go home now."

"I am not going anywhere."

I cut the call and kept standing there. I could hear Cabir talking to dad. But I guess dad is on my side otherwise I would have had a thousand calls from him till now. But it's my bad luck that god is not on my side today. After some time it started raining. Nobody can predict Mumbai's traffic and rain. It can happen anytime. Nandini, why are you doing this to me?

"Manik, it's raining. Let's get into the car."

"No, let it be."

"At least let me hold an umbrella for you now otherwise you will get dench and fall sick."

Sometimes he really teases my patience. I signaled all of my bodyguards to sit inside the car. Then opened my car door, pushed him inside and locked the door. He tried to unlock it from inside but every time he unlocked it I locked it back. At the end he lost the game and sat inside the car sulking like a kid. Aww how cute! But it was raining heavily and the raindrops were hitting my skin like bullets. I was freezing cold.

At Midnight

Nandini came down with an umbrella and said,

"Enough of your stubbornness. Let's go inside."

"No, first we need to talk."

"We can talk later but right now you need to change your clothes. You are dancing in the rain for the last three hours."

"Don't you think you are too late to show your concern for me?"

"Are you coming in or not?"

When I didn't reply she turned back to leave but I held her hand and said,

"Nandini, if I were guilty I wouldn't be here for you. If you don't want to give me a chance, that's totally fine by me but don't point your finger on character. I am anything but a womanizer. That day Inaya was trying to seduce me. When I shouted at her, she got scared and tried to move back but she tripped over a chair and directly fell on my lap. I was literally shivering in the cold and I knew if I kept standing there I would die from hypothermia. So I sat inside the car and said,

"Cabir, take me home."

On the way home Cabir gave me his jacket. But it didn't work that well. My hands and legs were getting numb. I couldn't move them an inch. Seeing my condition Cabir stopped the car and called a bodyguard to drive the car. He sat beside me and kept rubbing my hands and legs. I was blacking out often but Cabir was trying to keep me awake. I was a premature baby. I fall sick very easily and that's why dad is very concerned about my health. I couldn't think of anything else as darkness surrounded me.

Raj's pov

I was sitting in front of emergency room. Doctors have been treating Manik for the past two hours. After sometime doctors came out of the room and said,

"We are trying our best but he isn't responding to our medicines."

"Doctor please do something and save my son."

"There is a way. We have to keep him under boiling hot water."

"What? Are you mad? His skin will get burnt."

"Yeah his skin can get burnt but this is the way we have."

"Okay, do whatever you want, just save my son."

They left immediately. I joined my hands together and prayed to god,

"Oh god, please save my son. He is my only hope to live. If something happens to him I won't be able to live."

At that time Nandini came there with his brother. I didn't inform her then how she came here? I looked at Cabir and he bowed his head down. Nandini came to me and asked,

"Uncle, how's he?"

"Do you even care for him?"

"I am so sorry uncle. I thought seeing the rain he would go back home. It's all my fault, because of me he is in this condition."

She was crying badly. If she is at fault then it's his stubbornness too which caused him to suffer now. Sometimes kids make mistakes and they also learn from it but when they cross their limits we should bring them back to the track.
