After exam discussion
"mujhe lag raha hai mera chemistry ka paper theek ni hua hai" nandini said.

"chemistry, toh mera bhi garbar hua hai...and computer science too..i think mujhe optional paper ye ni lena chahye tha" navya said, dejectedly.

"yaar tum log ek aur do paper kharab jane par stressed ho...mujhe aur mukti ko dekho...hum kitne khush hain...even after ,our all the papers have gone below average" cabir said and then hi-fived with mukti.

Others smiled at his funny act.

"manik, tumhara paper ksa hua?" nandini asked.

"pta ni...i have just written to the best of my ability...ghar jaa kar analyse ni kiya..." he said.

"hmmmm"

"guys exam toh jaisa jana tha..chala gya...we should focus on what is coming next...trip!" alia chirped.

"right! We have just one day...sabne packing start ki ya ni?" abhi asked.

"i am not going to do any packing...just two set of clothes rakhunga! And i will be fine" cabir said in a serious tone.

"ewww...cabir, during the whole trip you keep a hands distance from me..!" mukti spoke.

"mukti tu bhi!" cabir spoke dramatically.

"haan main bhi...because shimla mein iss time pe snowfall hota hai..it will be so cold and you won't bath because of that..and then you will smell like a rotten tomato! Yuck!" mukti spoke in a disgusting manner.

"arey toh kya hua...deodarent and perfumes q bane hain?" manik asked in a sarcastic manner taking cabir's side.

"manik are you also planning the same?" nandini asked in a disbelieving tone.

Manik gave a sheepish smile.

"nandini in larko ko ase hi rehne do...hum gals...we will enjoy separately without them!" navya said and all the girls giggled.

"and as if i will let you do that...navya ji!" cabir spoke grinning.

"we will see" nandini declared.

"ok..we will see" manik spoke copying her tone.

"ma'm, please wait for 5 minutes, manik ata hi hoga!" nandini requested as manik had not yet arrived and the bus was about to start.

Her teacher looked at her watch and then spoke, "only 5 minutes!"

"ok ma'm thank you!" nandini replied politely.

Cabir, abhi and Dhruv were pacing on the ground while all the other students were in the bus.

"half an hour ago, he had said that he left from his home...but abhi tak aya q ni??" cabir asked.

"yaar phone v ni lag raha...kya kare??" Dhruv informed.

"manik ni pahuncha time se...toh i won't go" cabir said.

"yeah me too" abhi said.

"yaar ye toh obvious h koi ni jaega hamare group se...nandini ko dekha hai? She is panicking now. Humne itni mehnat aur planning ki...it will all go waste" Dhruv spoke.

"ek last baar try kar...dekh call lagta hai ya ni...wse bhi ab bus khul jaegi" abhi told to Dhruv.

"guys i think manik kahi fas gya hai...he won't come...main bhi ni jaungi..mere bags nikal do" nandini said getting down from bus, mukti, alia, navya, followed her.

"Humare bags bhi" all the girls said.

Nandini looked sadly at them.

"hey wo manik hai na??" navya exclaimed looking in a particular direction. They could see someone was running with two bags on his shoulder.

"haaa...he is manik!!" nandini shouted "guys go and get him...fast!" she ordered.

"god!! I thought bus must have left!" manik said huffing, as he reached near the group.

nandini just hugged him tight, manik was surprised for a moment but then he hugged her back, soon others too joined the hug.

"saale tune toh dara diya humein!" cabir scolded.

"students!! Get in the bus" their teacher ordered and they quickly hopped in.

"tu kaha tha?" abhi asked.

"arey wo school k paas wale chaurahe par accident hua hai and there was a long traffic jam due to that...i had to walk atleast 5 kms to reach here" manik narrated.

"oh" was everyone's reaction. The bus had begun to move now.

"nandini tumhe pta hai..manik aur mujhe iss trip par ane ki permission kese mili??" navya asked as the two friends were sitting together on a two-seater.

"ni" nandini replied.

"manik ne ni btaya??"

"maine usse pucha ni"

"arey tumhre lye ye janna jaruri hai yaa...tab tumhe pta chalega hamare friends kitne ache hain...tumhe pta hai...unsabne milkar ek application likha principal ko...and unse baat ki...reduce the expenditure of the trip for two of us..principal ne mana kiya toh...they proposed an idea that they would collectively bear our expenses. Principle agreed but he put a condition that we all must bring our parents for witness. Sabke parents aye...manik k maa-papa aur mere v....one hour long discussion hua...meri maa ko principle ne samjhaya ki ase trips par bhejna bachcho ko independent hona sikhata hai...and that the exposure is good for their personal development. Tab jaa kar maa aur papa agree hue...but fir problem ayi ki dusron se paise ni lenge khud pay karenge...manik ki mom to iss baat par fixed thi...fir abhi aur Dhruv k parents ne samjhaya tab mani wo aur mere parents bhi...."

"itna sab kuch hua??" nandini asked in disbelieve.

"haa yaar! Sab parents bahut supportive rahe in convincing my parents. U know na how difficult it is."

"sach mein...we are lucky to get such good friends yaar...i am sure sabne apne respective parents ko convince kiya hoga tab hi unhone itna sab kuch bola hoga principal sir k samne" nandini said.

"haa..aur baad mein jab manik ko pta chala toh usne bola ki wo unlogo k paise tab hi accept karega jab wo promise karenge ki after his job he will return them their money and they will accept it...."

"toh sab maan gye??" nandini asked.

"arey you know them..sabne uske face pe bola ha ha thk h..aur baad mein bol rahe the ki dekhte hain kse return karega...uss samay itna sunaenge ki paise wapas rakh lega!!" navya said and giggled along with nandini.

"manik and his self respect!! Tumhe pta hai navya...i love this the most about him..his honesty, his care...he is everything that i have ever wanted" nandini whispered and navya smiled and took nandini in a side hug "i know and i will pray that you get him

"kya tum dono...lesbians ki tarah chipak rahi ho...ek dusre se!" cabir butted in, from behind.

"kyu ? are you jealous cabir?? You wanted to be in my place...hai na??" nandini said and cabir shut his mouth. Manik laughed "aur jaa larkiyo k bich mein tang ghusane! Mana kiya tha maine"

"haa manik baba galti ho gyi...maaf kar do..." cabir spoke folding his hands in mock-forgiveness "main in larkiyo ko alag kar k hi rahunga...ni toh pura trip ye ase hi nikal dengi...maja ni aega!" cabir whispered to manik. Manik shrugged indifferently, "tujhe jo karna hai...kar...don't involve me in this" manik said.

"agar main successfull raha na...toh sabse jyada faida tujhe hi hoga...islye main welcome advance mein hi bold eta hun"

"welcome?? Ye kyu?" manik asked confused.

"tu mujhe thanks bolega na..isslye advance mein welcome"

"god cabir tu kab bara hoga??"
"mujhe ni bara hona...main ase hi thk hun!!" cabir laughed.

"sun mujhe tere tricks ki jarurt ni h...main ek baar bolunga nandini mere paas ajaegi!" manik boasted.

"achawww" cabir mocked "trial de jara...main v dekhu"

Manik was regretting now that he said this. What if nandini doesn't obey him?? Oh god..kaha main cabir k chakkar mein fans gya. He called

"nandini" from back and she turned back to look at him.

"haa " she asked in a hell busy tone as she was gossiping on a very interesting topic with navya. Hearing her tone, manik's morale went down, now he knew she is not going to obey him.

"wo...wo.." he fumbled and cabir was suppressing his laugh.

"kya h manik jaldi bolo"

"wo ..haa...mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai...can you come back and sit with me??" he asked. Nandini looked at him and then at cabir. Manik made a puppy face secretly, so that cabir didn't notice. Nandini understood that something was fishy.

"ok..wait for 2 minutes..main ati hun" she said and cabir was dumbstruck, while manik was jumping in joy in his heart. He smirked at cabir.

"maan gye bhai tujhe...kaash navya v itni obedient hoti !" cabir sighed and manik laughed.

Nandini and cabir swapped their places.

"kya hua ? mujhe yaha q bulaya?" nandini asked as soon as she sat down.

"bas ase hi" manik said and intertwined their fingers.

"ye koi reason ni hua" nandini said in a low voice.

"tumhe apne paas bulane ka mujhe koi reason ni chahye"

"manik"

"hmmm"

"tumhe ni lagta ki tum kuch jyada romantic ho rahe ho"

"i am always romantic...tum hi sharmati ho bahut" he said pointing at the blush on her cheek and she hid her face in his chest. He chuckled at her cuteness and placed his arm round her back.

"i am very sleepy...subah 4 baje se uthi hui hun" nandini whispered.

"yeah me too" he replied and then both positioned themselves comfortably. Her head on his shoulder and his cheek pressed to her head and they drifted into sleep.
Half an hour later almost whole of the bus was sleeping, except of course the driver and the conductor.
