Manik woke up with a jerk all sweating & slivering like hell.
Again, again that horrible nightmare was hunting him.
Nightmare seriously? no it's not a nightmare, it's a horrible truth of Manik's life which he can never forget.
Time always fly away but some memories always remain fresh in our mind.

Taking a deep breath Manik went to washroom. he stood under shower but seems like cold water wasn't helping him to cool down that havoc which was making him restless.
after taking a long shower Manik came out wearing a fresh pair of cloths & found the room still empty. he went out of the room & stood there holding the railing facing the ocean. cold air was touching his face, he closed his eyes to feel them when a flash of his childhood came infront of him.

Flashback

a 5 years old little boy was throwing his hands & legs in the pool's water, when a mid aged man was holding him carefully making sure that he don't get drown. 

Man:- come on Manu, you can do it.

yes that little boy was none other than our Manik Malhotra.

Manik:- (sadly) mujhsa nahi ho raha ha Dad.

guess what that mid aged man was none other than Manik's father Raj Malhotra.

Raj:- ho jayaga keep trying baccha.

Manik:- okey but hold me tight ha?

Raj:- don't worry Manu i will never let you drown.

Flashback end

when Manik was lost in his childhood memories Nandini came there with a food tray & seeing Manik she said,

Nandini:- oh you are already up? i thought i have to throw cold water to wake this sleepy head of mine.

Nandini kept that food tray on a nearby table & looked at Manik who was still standing there closing his eyes.

Nandini:- Manik.......

Nandini called Manik but he didn't respond. then Nandini went to him & kept her hand on his shoulder.

Nandini:- Manik....

Manik opened his eyes with a jerk feeling her touch & said,

Manik:- ha.....

Nandini:- what happen Manik? where are you lost?

Manik:- nowhere.

Nandini:- Manik you know na, you can share anything with me and i promise i won't judge you.

Manik took a deep breath & said,

Manik:- you know Nandini my Dad was a CID officer. when i was 5 years old, i was kidnapped by a gang to threat Dad to release one of their gang member.

Nandini was hell shocked hearing this but she kept silent & let Manik to speak his heart out.

Manik:- one hole week they kept me in a dark room & tortured me like hell.

Nandini immediately hugged Manik tightly & said,

Nandini:- (with teary eyes) that's why you are scared of darkness right?

Manik:- yes. but i knew no matter what my Super Hero, my Dad will come to save me & he did.

Nandini:- then?

Manik:- i was only 5 years old Nandini and that torturing session left a big impact in my brain. i started having panic attacks in dark & nightmare almost every night. i was hospitalised and seeing me in that state Mom was hell angry on Dad. she said Dad to chose between his job and us.

Manik laughed a little, Nandini broke the hug & looked at him curiously.

Manik:- and guess what he chose his job, his country above us. i was a kid then and i couldn't understood what's happening between my parents. i just knew that they had a fight & they both were upset. that night i was in my Dad's arms. he was holding me near his heart securely, patting my head & humming a song to make me sleep. i was happy thinking that now no one can harm me because my Super Hero was there with me but i never knew that night my last night with him.

Manik was in tears as well as Nandini. she again hugged him. his voice was badly shaken yet he continued.    

Manik:- next day i woke up having nightmare. i was crying and asking for my Dad. Mom hugged me tight & said that he had left & will never come back.
but i was stubborn i thought one day my Super Hero will come & hold me tight. he will pull me from darkness & will show me lights.

suddenly Manik went silent. Nandini knew that it was very difficult for Manik to speak his heart out but it's necessary so she broke the hug & said,

Nandini:- then?

Manik:- days passed, months passed, year passed i waited, i waited for him to come back but never came. finally one day i lost hope. i accepted that he will never come. Nandini tumna na sahi kiya, you didn't give false hope to our kids, because i know how it feels when you wait for someone & he never comes.

it was too much for Nandini, she hugged Manik & cried out loudly.
Nandini:- (crying badly) i am sorry Manik. i am so sorry.

Manik couldn't hold himself anymore. he fell on his knees & started crying loudly.

Manik:- (crying badly) i want to become a father nandini. i want my kids. i want to hold them in my arms. i want to make their childhood memorable unlike mine. i want to protect them from each & everyone who wants to harm them. i want to be with them always. please Nandini get me my kids, please........

Nandini broke the hug, looking into his eyes she said,

Nandini:- i promise Manik i will get your kids to you. you will became a father again & this time we will live our parenthood together.

with that they both wiped each others tears & closing their eyes they joined their forehead together.
