Avoid mistakes if any

At almost lunch time all got together and then after Lunch the work was distributed among all the members except the bride and the groom. Mehndi artist was called for Nandini and the girls at while Manik had nothing to do on hand.

Neyonika saw Manik just lazing around somewhere or the other so she called him and said

Ney: Manu bacha, see Nandini is getting her Mehndi applied na that time you can pamper her while when she is done you both go to room and hang out, but do not go out of the house now ok it is not a good omen.

Manik just nodded to his mother while Neyonika kissed his forehead and then asked him to go.. Nandini was sitting on the sofa and was getting the Mehndi applied on her palms while even though her hair was tied in a bun but some random flicks were creating trouble so Manik just sat beside her and helped her out earning a relieving sigh from Nandini.

N: Thanks.

M: No need.. Acha wanna have something, it's been a while you did not eat anything.

N: Nahi Manik, I am fine bas ye ek bar khatam ho jaye then will have something..

After half an hour she was done, till then Manik would either look at the mehndi or he would talk something with Nandu..

Manik had never paid attention to any Mehndi that he did in this half an hour.. When he got to know that this thing is gonna come to an end, he stood up to bring some coffee for her as she might be facing some problem sitting in the same position.

While all others were busy in the preparation. So when Nandini was done Manik forwarded pieces of fruits near her so that she can have them. While Nandini was happy seeing him doing so much for her. Soon she was done and then both moved towards Nandini's room so that she can rest.

Manik helped Nandini to sit and then asked her to lie down for a while as her back might be hurting, she did not agree but Manik forced her to and she half lied down. He covered her with blanket and then adjusted himself beside her.

Nandini was not sleepy so she turned towards Manik and said

N: Manik so tell me how do you feel about the whole engagement thing.

Manik till now was sitting on bed but after her question he leaned towards her and rested his face with the help of his elbow and then was looking at her intently and after a while he said..

M: Nandini I am not too good at expressing myself, but yes I would definitely say one thing and that is, I need to thank you throughout my life to come and bring a ray of new happiness in my life, actually not only my life but all my family members.. Day by day you are becoming my habit. I have a smile when you are around me always. It is like that your smile forces my cheek muscles to smile too. And you accepting me with everything has given a different type of confidence in me that even I cannot pin point at the same.

Saying this he kiss her forehead and Nandini close her eyes to take in the moment while a beautiful smile was playing on her lips..

M: Acha Nandini tomorrow the pandit ji would be disclosing the dates for our wedding, so which one do you want.

N: I do not know Manik, When do you want the same...

M: I want to spend some time like this Nandu.. I like it this way.. So let us just wait and see what dates which we get and then we can decide, Or else I have a better idea that we will let our parents decide the dates for us...

Nandini just nodded and then both kept on talking. Soon they were called for dinner so they went and after that being tired all retired to their rooms..

Manan also slept while talking on phone with each other, though they were just rooms apart.

Next Morning after breakfast all were hell busy in attending the guests. While the bride and groom were getting ready taking their own time.

Manik was looking handsome as ever while Nandini was getting ready for her big day.

All other members of the family were dressed simply as it was a function only for the family members..

All were now ready and were waiting for the bride to come. When Nandini made her entry with Navya all eyes were glued to her only.

She was smile yet the most elegant one and on top of it her dark shade of mehendi was just adding to her beauty. Manik was also staring at her without blinking his eyes.

Nandini came near him and then cleared her throat to grab his attention, while when Manik came back to his senses he give her a cheeky smile. But his eyes reflected the happiness that he held along with pride in seeing her looking so bright. Manik leaned towards her and then kissed her cheeks in front of everyone, making her blush while earning a hoot from his friends..

N: Manik what are you doing all are looking over here only...

M: Let then also see, anyways in no time you would be offically declared as mine...  Not fully but still you would be mine and no happiness can beat this one.. Understand.. So let them be...

Nandini just nodded her head in a yes.. While Neyonika came and put some khol behind her ear to protect her from all evil eyes. Seeing this all the Malhotra's and Murty's were happy. Ishita had happy tears because now her daughter will have someone equivalent to her mother. She was happy and sad at the same time.

Soon the Pandit ji started the rituals and asked Ishita to do tilak and then give a coconut to Manik and make him eat sweets. This offically announces that now the Rishta is final.

While Neyonika was asked to give Nandini some shagun and then give her hand in her son's hand. She was asked to first give her suhgun ka saman and then the gifts that are required.

While after these rituals were done they were asked to exchange rings. Mukti brought both their rings and soon they exchanged them.

After this was done both took their elder's blessing and then they were congratulated by their friends. After a while the guests too came and congratulated while Manan had a different feeling going on in their mind and heart. They would every now and then see towards their rings and then would look at their partner and smile would consume them.

There was something that they could not name.

While all this was going on, Manik wanted to have water which was lying behind Nandini's seat and so he was about to take that then someone called him because of which his attention diverted and his finger caught hold between the strings of her blouse and when he tried to remove it, it lead to breaking of the last string which immediately caught both their attention, to prevent further damage Manik immediately kept his hand on her back and touching there made both their breaths hitched for a second.

Manik came near her and whispered in her ear and said

M: I am sorry Nandini, it was by mistake the string is broken, you need to move from here and get it done.

N: Manik how would I go from here and I cannot see Navya or Maa also.

M: should I go from here and call Maa.. Nandini immediately shouted..

N: No... Please do not take your hand away..

M: Then you cannot sit here na.. Wait would you mind if I help..

Nandini immediately nodded in no and then asked Manik help her..

Manik asked her to come a bit in front while he leaned at back, as he did this Nandini closed her eyes as his warmth was being felt on her back.. Manik took her pallu and then asked her if she has any spare pin or so, and fortunately Nandini always keep one for emergency on her dupatta or pallu so she gave him and with that Manik covered her whole back and then asked her to go to room and he would help her as none of their family members were seen as they are attending the guests in the garden with food and other stuff.

Taking Manik's signal Nandini immediately ran towards her room, while Manik left after a while as he saw that if someone was available then he would send rather than going himself but he did not find anyone so he himself left from there to help her.

As he came to the room, Nandini was already trying to remove the pin that he put, but as soon as she saw him she became a bit stiff but then even asked him to remove the pin..

Manik was hesitant so he asked Nandini.

M: Nandini are you sure that I should do, I mean you wait here I will call someone to come and help you.

Nandini held his hand and said

N: Manik I am fine.. I do trust you enough and on top of it what will you go and say.. So it would be better if you help me yourself.. Please.

Manik smile and then nod. He removes the pin and then even removes the tread, while he mends it he keeps her pallu properly so that she is not comfortable. Nandini smile seeing him helping her but thinking about her comfort also. As he was done he again sides the pallu and then slowly try to put them in their respective holes and trying not to touch her and make her uncomfortable. Soon he was done, while Nandini was so happy with his care that she suddenly hugged him and said a thank you.. While Manik first balanced himself but then responded to her hug and said, you do not need to thank me.

Soon they break the hug, but Manik leave Nandini not before kissing her forehead which she respond with a smile and a cheek kiss. They return downstairs so that their absence is not noticed for a long period of time.

Finally Engagement done..
