Avoid mistakes if any...

It was 5 days since the tragic scene happened... Nandini was discharged after two days while the doctors has asked her to have a complete bed rest for Nandini for next week...

Well on the other side there were preparations for Diwali going on... After all this is going to be the first Diwali of Manan, along with that even Mishri (Mishkat and Aneri) were having their first festival....

Mukti in these days was just keeping herself locked in the room while Abhi did not visit the Mansion to look at Nandini... he would do video calls and would keep a check on her health...

Today Manik was not at home to look after Nandini thought he wanted to be with her badly but there was an important meeting and it cannot be avoided by them.. So he just went to attend the meeting while on the other end Manik had strictly asked Nandini not to get up from bed and atleast one family member to be with her...

Nandini on the other end was getting bored sitting in her room and she was feeling much much better than before while Manik was not allowing her to move so today she requested Mishkat to take her out for a ride as she needs some fresh air...

Mishkat immediately agreed to it and took her with him.. While Nandini was silent all the while she was thinking about the past 3 days when she has tried talking to both Mukti and Abhi about asking the reason but the only thing that she got was silence..

At times she even noticed the spark in each other's eyes of Mukbhi in case Nandini talk about either of them to the other.. She was thinking whether she should discuss the same with Manik or just stay silent and wait for them.. But what if they can mend their relationship.. Mending their relationship means mending that small gap between the two families... All this that is happening can be avoided to the full and neither of the family will be hesitant with the other that they are currently because of the situation. To top none of the family members know as to what is actually happening as it is too much for all of them to process..

She was enjoying the wind while Mishkat let her be.. He knew that things are not easy for her, though it seems all is fine between Manan but still they both are fighting with their inner selves as it is their family that is involved in all the mess... They both love the other family but keeping theirs above to an extent is their ego..

Soon after an hour Nandini started feeling drowsy with the weakness and all the mess running her head... So she asked Mishkat to drive back, while she closed her eyes just like that enjoying the peace of the air and calming herself...

When they reached home Manik on seeing Nandini's face knew that something is not right and he wanted to clear out things immediately...

So in the pretext to take her to room he took and once he entered the room Manik made her look in his eyes and said..

M: What is wrong Nandini...

Nandini on other end too did not want to drag things and create some misunderstanding among them and she needed to vent it out to someone. She held his hands and said..

N: I need to know what is happening between Bhai and Mukti... One thing is sure Manik this is not what we see.. There is definitely something more to it... They both have a spark in each other's eyes on just mere mention of name of the either...

Tears were flowing out from her eyes.. Manik let her be because from the day of the accident till now she did not speak up about it and now when she is then in that case he knows one thing that he needs to tell her what he feels too... So he wipe those tears off her eyes and said...

M: Nandini you are right... Mukti is in some guilt also she is keeping herself locked and is not allowing anyone of us to enter. She is dealing with something serious and I guess you are right we are not seeing the whole truth.. Otherwise if it was the case of Abhimanyu only then she would have never closed herself from all of us too as she always needed us. But it is like she is fearing that if we enter in that space of her's then in that case she will not be able to hide whatever it is that she is hiding..

Nandini looked at him with a stare for a while as she expected Manik to be angry for talking like this or to give it back to her with rage but his response made one thing clear and that is he has noticed something... But before she could ask Manik understanding her turmoil says it himself telling his observation and his thoughts...

M: I have done one more thing Nandini and I hope that you will not think bad of me for that...

Nandini scrunched her eyebrows together thinking what it can be... But Manik put an end to her thoughts...

M: I am tapping Abhi's and Mukti's phone in an illegal manner...

Nandini made her mouth in a big "O" hearing it, as she knew that when it comes to family Manik goes to any extent but to this extent was something that her mind was not ready to accept...

M: And I have found a conversation which is very dicy... and on the other end I also found out that Mukti does call Abhi regularly but not from her orignal number..

N: Woha..Woha... wait Manik, I need all information out now...

M: not now... You are already stressed out... After dinner I am taking you to my favorite spot and we will talk there.. I do not want Mukti to have a slightest idea about anything, so we will go out and talk... But for now take some rest you look zombie... For now your rest is more important than anything.. 

Nandini opened and closed her mouth like a fish and then with a balloon face rested her head on pillow and covered herself in the quilt... Manik chuckled at her reaction...

But he was right... She was drained out.

After dinner Manik said that he is taking Nandini out as she wants some fresh air and no one says anything as Nandini did not even come out of her room from past 3 days as per orders of Mr Hitler Malhotra... Thought she had gone out today with Mishkat but then presence of Manik will always be different then presence of Miskat.. 

Both moved to Manik's favorite spot... They both moved out of the car and sat there watching the whole city... (Refer Chapter 30) Both of them were standing in silence taking in the view, the air and letting the nature calm themselves.. After what felt like a while Manik spoke,

M: Someone is blackmailing Mukti and this is the result of all this...

This came as a bomb on Nandini, she did not expect it to be something like this..

M: Yes it is true.. Well on further tracking on the person I got to know who that person is.. Manik shut his eyes tight and took a deep breath in.. It is Harshad Arora one of our college buddy...

Nandini he was never a nice man but Mukti kind of had a crush on him and she always told that she would have a love marriage so Mishkat and I let her explore but we were always careful about the things related to her..

She started roaming with him in college but his presence never gave me a positive response so if I am at office then I would ask Mishkat to be with them or around them to handle the things... As no matter what safety of Mukti was very important for us. 

Things were going smoothly but one fine day I saw him almost raping a girl and that was it for me as first I needed to save the girl and second I cannot let such a creep of a man to be with my sister even in my dreams...

I beat the shit out of him and soon all my friends along with the principal was there and Harshad was almost dead as just the thought that instead of that girl it could be my Muku, my baby... The blood in my body was raging just with the mere thought and I wanted to  take control of that Animal...

(Nandini pressed his palms with her's as Manik was almost living that moment again in the flashback as if happening now..)

And so I gave him to police in the charges of molestation and he was jailed because that girl whom I saved also gave a statement that this is not the first time he is trying to physically force her... Things sorted out from that time..

But it had become way to difficult for us to handle Mukti as she started losing faith in her own choices and all... But mom managed her, she brought a whole new Mukti which is fierce for the world to face and can fight for herself.. That Mukti was the new tomboy and not our baby sister who loved pampering and all but the tomboy Mukti became a different personality all together...

Nandini after that I lost sweet and cute sister, she was replaced by this bold avtar.. She was no longer the same.. But yes she was strong for the world to play with her.. Remembering the old Mukti a tear rolled down from his eyes as her innocence was not saved and could not be protected by him...

Nandini tumhe pata hai why I always told you to keep this innocence in you and that is because I know that how it feels to all the loved one's around you when you change.. Nandini, it is difficult to breath if in any case you become the reason for someone's change and not a good one..

N: Manik... There is only one person who can bring the old Mukti back..

M: Who is that Nandini... 

N: Bhai....

Manik closed his eyes.. he knows he was wrong and also knows that what Nandini said is also right...

M: I am sorry once again Nandini.. Things were not in my power and there was just Mukti in my mind to remember about anything else..

Nandini took him in a side hug and let it be like that for a while...
