OKAY LETS GET BACK TO MANAN'S ROKA CEREMONY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NANDU'S REACTION ON RIYA..!!  A VERY BIG CHAPTER..! BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO DISTURB THE FLOW OF ROKA..!

Manik was done with his thought process and proceeded to get ready for his ROKA ceremony..

NANDU ROOM

Nandu got dressed in the pink lehenga sent by her jaan..

she was looking the prettiest and most beautiful...

Sanjana comes to have a look at nandu's preparations.. 

she got amazed with her daughter's attire..

Nandu looks beautiful in that pink lehenga and matching jewelery...

SAnju- Nandu..! ye dress kab karidh li..??

Mukthi- wo aunty..! ye dress nandu nahi..! unke hone wale pathi dev ne bejha hai..!!

Sanju(excitedly)- manik..??

Alya- yes aunty..!! she looks so pretty na..!

Sanju- pretty toh hona hi tha... ye dress mera manik jo select kiya hai..!

she said teasingly which irked nandu...

Nandu- toh you mean to say that the dress is pretty but not me..!!

Sanju- koi sakh..??

navya mukthi alya giggles.. 

Nandu- aap humesha uski side hi lethi ho..!

saying this she made a sad pout..

Sanju pulls her cheeks and says..

Sanju- ye dress isliye pretty hai kyunki meri pari jo peheni hai..!!

Nandu smiles widely and hugs her..

Alya- aww..! ye sab dekh ke mujhe bhi sadhi karne ka mann kar raha hai..!

Navya- koi bath nai alya..! dhruv yahi pe hai na.. Ek bar manan ka roka hone dho.. phir tum dhono ka sadhi hi karwathe hai..!

Alya- no engagement nothing..?? directly marriage..??

Mukthi- tum kab se in sab me interest honi lagi ha...??

ALya- tumhara aur navya ka engagement dekhne ke badh i changed my thoughts.. i too want  a perfect wedding..!

Nandu- superb alya..! 

SAnju caressed alya's hair and blessed her..

Sanju- may your wishes come true soon beta..!

Alya hugs her and blushes..

Mukthi- look..! she's blushing..!

all of them burst into laughter..

Sanju- okay.. okay.. enough of teasing Alya..! make it fast.. wo log athe honge..!!

Mukthi- she's almost ready aunty..! dont worry..

as mukthi assured sanjana not to worry.. sanju went away to look at further preparations..

MALHOTRA MANSION

Manik was trying to fix his already fixed hair..

Cabir pov- today its a pay back time.. manik beta be ready..!

Arya- MAnik..! aur kitna time loge bhai..?

MAnik- yeah.. yeah.. 2 minutes..

Abhi- yaar manik.. ye 2 min pichle 2 ghante se kuch jyadha nahi ho raha hai..!

Cabir- wo kya hai na abhi..! kisi ne kaha hai ki.. mein already handsome hu..! mujhe koi touch up ki jaroorat nahi hai....! you remember..???

Abhi- why not bro...! The one and only MAnik Malhotra..!!

all of them chuckles while Manik glares at them..

Dhruv- buddy....! seriously yaar... tum na alya se bhi jyadha time le rahe ho ready hone me..!

Nyo- ye ladkiyon ki tarah blush karna bandh karo..!

MAnik- mom..!!

Nyo- what mom..! today you're going to take a new responsibility manik..! are you prepared for that..??

CAbir- aunty..! aap ye bath ise kyu puch rahe ho..! ye toh kab ka ready tha..!! kyu manik..??

everyone again share a laugh..

Manik- one more word from your mouth na.. you're so dead.. remember that..!

CAbir- wooo... i'm scared..!

Nyo- chalo.. ab bahuth ho gaya..! hum already late ho chuke the.. 

Raj- yeah.. I need everyone come down in 2 min..

Dhruv- okay uncle..!

soon the malhotra's, abhi, arya, dhruv, cabir came to Murthy mansion..

MURTHY MANSION

Sanju and Yash welcomed them..

Raj and Yash hugged and wished each other.. same with  sanju and Nyo..

Manik- why all of you are surprised...??

Cabir- MAnik..! ishe surprise nahi bolthe hai...! shock bolthe hai..!

he glared at cabir..

Manik- what made you shock ha..?

Arya- arey the manik malhotra is taking blessings from elders.. ish se shocking news aur kya hoga..!

Dhruv- shocking news nahi..! breaking news hai..!

Abhi- exactly..!

Sanju- dont tease my manik so much guys..!

yash and sanju blessed manik happily and yash hugged manik while sanju side hugged him..

all of them were gathered in the living room..

the living room was beautifully decorated with flowers and sitting arrangement is made for the ROKA ceremony..

Manik's eyes were fixed at nandu's room door..

he was desperately waiting to meet his jaan.. this went unnoticed by our very own cabir ji..!!

Cabir- aise dekhne se wo jaldi nahi aajayegi..

Manik(gritting his teeth)- ek aur sabdh bola na.. trust me..! this will be your last day.. bichari navya ko bhi kisi aur ko dhoondna padega..

Cabir- okay.. but i've a doubt..!

MAnik- ab kya..?

asked irritatingly..

Cabir- do you remember the kundali prank you made on my engagement day..??

MAnik- wo prank nahi tha..! i said the truth..!

cabir- may be...! what if tumhara aur nandu ka khundali nahi mili toh...?

Manik- tumhara problem kya hai ha..?

cabir- just answer my question bro..!

MAnik- nahi mili toh bhi mein nandu se hi sadhi karoongi..!

Cabir- so committed..??

MAnik- 200%..

Cabir- but..

MAnik hold his neck and whispered..

Manik- Cabir..! it wont feel good if a groom kill his own friend on his roka day..!

Cabir- abey chod..! its hurting..!

he left cabir and again concentrated on NAndu's room..

Abhi- yaar..! ye girls niche kyu nahi aa raha hai..?

Dhruv- wo log niche nahi aaya toh kya huwa..! hum toh upar ja sakthe hai na..?

Cabir- superb idea..! lets go..

Arya- Manik..! do you wanna join us..??

before manik could reply..

Cabir- arey aryaman.! ishe yehi pe rehne dhe.. hum log chalthe hai na..!!

MAnik gave "i'll kill you" look..

Cabir smirked and gave "its revenge time bro" look..

the boys except manik left to meet girls..

MAnik was fuming in anger while RIya comes to him..

Riya- Aarav..!!!

he smiled looking at her..

MAnik- wow darling..! you're looking like a princess..

and pecked on her cheek..

Riya- Thank you..!

and smiled..

MAnik- acha.. ye bathao.. aap ne wo gift nandu ko hi diya na..!

he asked fixing her hair strands..

RIya(innocently)- ha..

she replied playing with her doll..

MAnik- usne kya kaha..?

Riya- thanks boli..!

MAnik- aur usne tumhara naam bhi pucha hoga na..??

Riya- ha.. aur mein good girl hu na... isliye maine apna naam bhi batha dhi..!

MAnik- very good..! aur nandu ne kuch kaha..??

Riya- Aarav...!!  tum itna sawaal kyu kar rahe ho..?? meri teacher bhi mujhe itna sawaal nahi karthi hai..!

MAnik- okay..! okay..! sorry..!

Riya-  hum sab yaha kyu aaye hai..? kisika birthday hai kya..?

MANik- birthday nahi hai..! but wo nandu hai na.. usko hum apna ghar lene ke liye aaye hai..!

Riya- wo humara ghar kyu ayegi..?

MAnik- kyunki wo tumhari didi banne wali hai..!!

Riya(excitedly)- ahh.. didi..! sachi..? par..

Manik cuts her in between and immitates her..

MAnik- RIya..!! tum itna sawaal kyu kar rahi ho..?? mera teacher bhi mujhe itna sawaal nahi karthi hai..!

Riya(innocently)- tumhara bhi teacher hai..??

MAnik(cutely)- hmm..

Riya- okay..! sorry..

he again pecked on her cheek lovingly falling again for her innocence..

he was now distracted from nandu thoughts..

Pandit asked their parents to start the ceremony..

Nandu and the girls comes downstairs..

MAnik was so busy in playing with riya..

he didnt realize that NAndu has already come..

NAndu found him playing with riya.. she was dumbstruck at his look..

he was looking damn hot at the same time super handsome in that golden and dark pink combination sherwani..

She was so lost in him.. and just kept staring at him..

all the girls observed her and giggled themselves..

CAbir broke her trance and spoke..

Cabir- Nandu..!  tum vegetarian ho na..!

NAndu looks at him confused and nods..

Cabir- phir nonveg khane ka mann kyu kar raha hai tumhara.?

no one understood him..

Nandu- matlab..??

Cabir- tum manik ko aise dekh rahi ho.. jaise tum ushe kha jaogi..!

NAndu(blushes)- cabir..!!

all of them laughed loudly..

this time manik heard their laughter and looked at their direction..

there she is.. his girl stood blushing in that pink lehenga which is perfect combination for his dress.. just like they were perfect for each other..

he kept riya on the sofa and stood up..

he was admiring his jaan with all the love..

NAndu too felt his gaze on her and looks at him..

both were looking at each other and lost in their own world..

Nyonika comes to nandu and this is when her trance broke again..

Nyo- you're looking so beautiful nandu...!!

NAndu- thank you aunty..!

nyonika took nandu along with her.. manik was still staring at her..

the boys comes to him and started teasing..

then they too joined the remaining people to start the ceremony..

(Author note: readers..! as you all know.. i'm a south Indian.. and i dont know anything about Punjabi wedding rituals..! so i'm just following the google and presenting here all the rituals in my way.. so if you find any mistakes in any of the rituals.. please do let me know.. i dont wanna hurt any one's intuitions...!) 

so here the ceremony starts..

manik and nandu were seated next to each other..

manik's parents were sitting right side of manik.. and nandu parents were sitting left side of nandu..

similarly, the boys(abhi, cabir, arya, dhruv) are on the right side and girls(mukthi, navya, alya) on the left side..

Pandit was busy looking at the khundalis..

MAnik bent a little towards nandu and whispered..

MAnik- you made this dress more than beautiful..

she blushes for his compliment..

ROKA:

  It is an unofficial engagement ceremony where the groom's family and friends come give presents, money and blessings to the bride to be. The origin of this ceremony lies in the arranged marriage norm where the parents would let out the world that they are looking for a suitable match for their son or daughter. And once they had found that match, their search had come to an end. Though rings are not exchanged, the couple stand unofficially engaged after this ceremony. Looking forward to starting the wedding ceremonies. Traditionally when individuals weren't allowed to see their mate, Roka was like an engagement.

Soon the pandit finished looking at the khundalis and announced..

Pandit- in dhono ka khundali aise mil rahi hi jaise ye dhono ek dhusre ke lie hi bane hai..!

everyone smiles..

MAnan share an eye lock..

Nyo- pandit ji..! sagaai aur sadhi ka muhurat bhi bathadijiye..!!

PAndit- sagaai toh aap tikh ek hafthe ke badh kar sakthe hai..! 

Sanju- phir sadhi..??

Pandit- sadhi ke liye 3 mahine badh hi achi muhurat hai..!

their parents looks at manan for their answer.. 

Manan nodded and smiled in assurance...

their parents smiled and at this happy moment, the malhotra's and murthy's exchanged the sweets, gifts and dry fruits..

(as per the ritual the bride's parents and groom's parents exchange the fruits, sweets and gifts on this occasion to cherish their happiness)

everyone congratulated each other..

Raj- badhayiyo samdhan ji..! 

and hugs yash..

sanju and nyo also hugs each other.. they were super happy..

the very close friends now becoming a family.. manan looks at their parents happiness and adores them..

manik side hugs nandu.. and nandu hold his hand..

NAndu- uncle..! mera ek wish hai..!!

she said breaking the hug..

Raj- First time..?

YAsh(confused)- what first time..??

Raj- arey first time.. my princess want me to fulfill her wish.. it'll be my pleasure to fulfill your wish dear..! 

she smiles..

Nyo- lekin tera wish hai kya..??

NAndu- wo aunty..! mein ye soch rahi thi ki.. sadhi se jude har rasam punjabi rituals ki anusaar ho.. par sadhi in south Indian style..(as nandu was a tamilian)..

NAndu parents were surprised hearing her wish.. because she never shared her this wish with them that she want a south Indian marriage..

RAj and Nyo were silent..

NAndu (tensed)- uncle.. agar aap ko acha nahi laga toh.. no problem..

Raj and Nyo hugs her and Raj shouts..

Raj- your wish is our command dear..!!

she smiles widely and hugs them..

Nandu- love you both..!

Nyo- we love you too beta..!

MAnik- what about me..?

Yash- Manik..! tumhe pyaar karne ke liya hum hai na..!

Manik immediately rushes towards NAndu's parents and hugs them..

The ROKA ceremony finished.. all were chit chatting among themselves..

Nyo- NAndu..!! tum riya se mili..??

Nandu pov- oh god..! no.. not again..!

she nods as no..

Nyo searches for riya..

Nyo- Raj..! aap ne riya ko dekha hai..??

Manik was waiting to look at her reaction..

just then Riya comes running towards them..

NAndu pov- thank god..! ye achi time pe aagayi..!

she was still thinking that she was not the manik's cousin RIya..!!

riya- hai Nands..!!

Nandu- hello baby..! 

Manik pov- Nands...???

nandu pecks on her cheeks and hugs her..

Nyo- tum yaha ho..! mein tumhe kab se dhoond rahi hu..!

Nandu was shocked..

NAndu- dhoond rahi hu matlab..??

Nyo- arey nandu milo inse yehi Riya hai..! mera chote bhai ka beti..! manik's cousin..!

NAndu(surprised& shocked)- what..????

Manik was having tough time controlling his laughter..

Nyo- ha..

Sanju- she's so cute na nandu..!

Manik- bolo nandu.. aunty kuch puch rahi hai..!!

she gave an angry look at him and he winks in return..

Nyo- but tum dhono pehle se jaanthe ho kya..??

Riya- ha.. Morning Aarav ne mujhe dress..

MAnik closed her mouth with his palm as she was revealing his secret..

Nyo- konsa dress..??

Manik- kuch nahi mom..!! wo toh bas aise hi bol rahi hai..

Nandu was so much embarrased now as she was jealous of a kid from these past 3 days..!!

she was feeling like to hide her face somewhere far..

Manik observed her cute antics and couldnt control himself anymore and burst into laughter..

everyone got amazed with his sudden outburst..!
