Manik Pov

Pressing on the dial button a little away were my finger and I got a call from an unknow number. Why now.... I should reject it....okay wait....what if it's Nandini...I should pick it up if it's someone else I will just cut it.

I picked up the call, to find the most unexpected thing which I couldn't think of, it was from hospital and then....why me was the next things that crossed my mind.

Nandini Pov.

I was wide awake now having food while Mom sat there in the room.

Amma, Appa, Dad and Naman were downstairs having dinner.

With great difficulty and emotional blackmail or say taking advantage of my degree of being a Doctor I made them understand or say manipulated them it was due to travelling and nothing more. The doctor visited me again but I didn't allow him to touch me and the worse thing he said was it's important for me to do few test as he has a doubt seeing my conditions there is something major and I had never insulted someone like this before but in anger the only thing I said loudly was These are the way to make money and trouble innocent people for no reason. I blamed him and poor fellow just walked away not saying a word more. Afterall I flaunted being a Great Doctor and knowing very well what's going on. They couldn't object me too especially Mom after all the mess or it would be a trouble to convince her. Appa would definitely do something when I would be alone with them. I am sure he will carry me to hospital now if I sneeze also for once. I have to make sure my secret remain a secret till my death.😢

Appa had a doubt he wanted to ask so many things but remained quite as this was not the right place to talk. In his eyes I could see the questions what he wanted to ask unlike my Amma, Appa was not convince by the reason what Mom gave to them. Afterall it was not easy to fool him. He knew me rather too well.

Mom sat silently on the couch staring at my face while I drank soup quietly too.

She had a stern look on her face as if she was reading my face or could see within my soul. Manik was right his Mom is a sharp woman and detective too, for the first time I wanted to be away from her.

I completed my soup keeping the bowl on the side table and looked at her alittle nervously while giving my timid smile.

Neyonika: What are you hidding Nandini ?
She spoke being 100% sure that I was hidding something from them. Her voice was so confident which made me gulp a lump down.

Nan: Nothing...what will I hid.
I said being sure my voice was not a mere whisper.

Neyonika: What are those tablets which you have ?
She asked again keeping a straight face it was not easy to fool her.

Nan: Which tablets ???
I asked frowning my eyebrows.

Neyonika: Those.... which I saw you gulping down on flight and at home too every night.
She asked giving me a smile that it's not easy for me to get through this.

Nan: Ohh that....
I said making a "O" face.

Neyonika: Yup that...
She too imitated me.

Nan: That is vitamin tablet...huh.. Doctor Arora recommended me.
I said smiling at her but she was still not convince.

Neyonika : Are you sure....you are not hidding anything Nandini.

I simply nodded showing my 32 teeths in assurance while my weird gestured made her smile too.

She walk towards me and sat next to me holding my hand while I stare at her face being confused.

Neyonika : I know that whatever Manik did....
She stopped and looked away after sighing she continued

Neyonika: But there is nothing changed between you and me Nandini. Our relationship is same like before. I am still your Mother you know that na dear.
She said caressing my hand.

While I smiled and nodded with tears of happiness in corner of my eyes.

Neyonika : There is nothing change yet Nandini. Things can be back the same if we try. Give one more time a try to this relationship darling. You are perfect for Manik and you will always be best for him. Trust me for once. Just forget the past and think one more time about your and Manik relationship for me. I will make him understand. He is just not in right mind track now. When his anger will cool down he will surely realize what mistake he has made and at that time I want you to be right next to him. To hold him and make him realize you are the best thing that ever happened to him, Nandini.
She completed while I simply stare at her face not knowing what to say. Will this all ever happen. I so wish this happens things get back to normal.

She knew what I was thinking.

Neyonika: Trust me.....I know my son well. There is still lots of hope.

For once I wanted to trust my gut feeling and belief her but after all the heartbreak and pain. I was too weak to trust anyone or even my ownself now. Afterall it's human nature right.

Nan: I want to belief in your believe Mom but i don't have anymore.....strength...huh
I stopped sighing.

Nan: It's better if I try to move on.
With great difficulty I spit out those words and for the first time not even a single tear left my eyes which amazed me. Which means I was learning to stay without him.

Neyonika : Nandini don't give up so easily please.
She pleaded while I turn around and slept covering myself with blanket.

I heard her sighing then she kissed my forehead while she left me for the night alone.

Manik Pov

I cursed in my head for nth number of time before I ran through the streets in my car racing on the road. Why all wrong has to happen to me. I should go and sort out differences with my wife and what am I doing right now. And Why ???

Reaching the hospital I made my way to the reception.

Man: AMAYA MATHUR.....
I said controlling my anger.
