G O D L I E S.
Jonathan looked to the blonde who was resting on the brown wooden chair. They had managed to make it this far without getting caught by the infected so who was to say it was over? When the blonde told him his leader had died he couldn't help but fear that everyone else did as well, if that was the case then what was to become of them? They were alone. Together.
"Jon..." he heard the blonde call. "I need something to drink. Water..."
He sat his bag down and scattered through until he found a full bottle of water, his eyes jerked to the male who could barley hold himself up. Jonathan made his way to him and unscrewed the cap before helping his friend drink the water then when he was finished he put it back in the bag. "We can't stay here long. I don't think it's safe, especially with the infected running around. We can rest here though and then leave in the morning if you want. I won't make you...stay." The blonde didn't say anything as he kept his eyes closed and his head black to rest on the chair. "Bryce I wanna ask you something...something I seen."
"Hm?"
"Those bodies...in the house, did you do that?"
"...yes."
"Why? Why did you kill so many?"
"Jonathan," he raised his head up and looked the boy in the eyes. "They killed Ohm. I promised revenge and that's what imma get."
The brown haired male thought back to what he had seen at the house. Blood had painted the walls and the horrifying smell of death lingered in the air as for no mercy was shown at all to any of them. Then the scene placed back in his head, he remembered the sound of the male begging for his life to be spared for he had a family but Bryce–showed no mercy. He shot him dead in the head and turned around with a look of nothing. Emotionless.
What had they done to the boy?
"I see that..." Bryce said as he looked down to his hands. "The way you look at me. Looks as if you see me as a monster of some sort. You wouldn't be wrong. Jonathan I never told you or anyone my story because I was afraid. I didn't know you or anyone. Well, I think it's time you find out what really happened..."
Jonathan raised a brow at this and he dropped his bag to the floor to get a clear look of the blonde. "Meg and I...we were the only two that lived through the infection that spread. I was bit by my father who had turned right after my mother, my sister sat there with me in the bedroom while I locked myself in the bathroom. She was waiting on me to turn so she could end my pain. I sat in that bathtub for hours...I was cold and afraid. The symptoms everyone gets before they turn is what I had gotten but I never turned. When we went to a camp everyone was forced to give blood samples–everyone but Meg. She was taken to a girl center where there were other young girls. They tried to take me away because I was a.."carrier" as they called me. But infected got in and everyone was forced to dip so we left on our own. After that we stuck to one another and a few month in we became smart, really really smart. We started to ambush other groups."
"You killed them didn't you?"
"Yes. We didn't leave anyone breathing. We took what we wanted and left. We both began to grow cold hearted then we met your group and our hearts began to thaw. I fell in love with Ohm as soon as I seen him but refused to believe it. I tried to stay away because I wanted to protect him and everyone else but I kept telling myself it was just because I wanted to get to the camp and cure it all. That wasn't true. Then I lost the one person who supported all my decisions...I lost the woman I tried so hard to protect because I made the wrong decision. I–I was so afraid from then on but I didn't show it. And you...I wanted to push you away. I knew you hated me. The main point is you may see me as a monster Jonathan but you must realize this world is only built for monsters. I may not be an infected dead person but I am a living dead one. This world has beat me black and blue then it took something from me. Someone. The only things I cared about are now gone leaving me to be just a shell. If I'm truly the only person that can save this world from what it is..." he paused and looked up to the boy, "I'm taking something from this world. The cure to fix it all."
Jonathan stayed silent as he eyed the man who was now holding his side and leaning back in the chair. "God sure as hell plants lies into our heads Bryce. A world where only the saints shall roam? Hahah, if that was the case then he sure as hell must've got his list fucked." He cracked a chuckle and shook his head. "No Jon...He's taken all the saints from this world so they don't suffer like we do. God lies."
