F I N D I N G.
Bryce flinched as his hands were retired together, this time it wasn't rope. Instead of the rough material it was the cold metal hand cuffs that policemen normally used and the metal nearly made his hands go numb. He watched as they did the same to his sister, eyes staring at her with disbelief still.
He understood why too.
Seeing a girl after a year is like finding clean water in a lake which is very rare nowadays. Bryce was shoved forward and a gun was placed at his back causing him to slowly walk forward and listen as the snow crunched with each in wanting step he made. His teeth chattered as he walked behind the other men who were heading to the camp that the Ryan man was talking about fifteen minutes ago.
He really didn't understand why they untied the two if they were only going to cuff them afterwards.
After walking for what seemed like hours they finally reached a tall building that appeared to be a wal-mart–well what was left of one. The sliding doors no longer worked so they had to wait for the men to open it so they could get through without being hurt or anything. Once the doors were opened the two hostages were forced inside where they were face to face with the leader, Ryan Wrecker.
His fair skinned hand tore off the gray bandana and then he removed his hood and glasses to reveal his full face. Bryce blinked as he stared at the man who stood upright in front of him. He could already tell they wasn't going to get along now.
"What's your name?" Ryan asked as his eyes fixed upon Meg. Her gaze narrowed as she looked him up and down, "Why should I tell you?" He snickered at this and rubbed his red nose before leaning on one foot. "Maybe because I just saved your ass back there. I mean without me you'd honestly probably be raped or frozen half way to death." It went silent as they stared each other down. "Alright. Fine. Don't tell me. In fact I don't even want to know."
A man with a beard came into view and he whispered something to the man before having his eyes widen. "Did we??" He nodded as he pointed out down to the back. Bryce and him locked eyes for a split second but the man looked away to Meg who was halting daggers at all of them as if it'd do any good as to kill them. "What about them? We can't just leave them." He stated. The man seemed against the idea of taking them so with a flick of his arm he said, "Take them to the camp store and lock them down. Make sure they get new clothes as well as fresh food. Take the girl and clean her up..the fountains water should do."
Meg looked to Bryce who only stared back at her with the same horrifying expression written on his face. Both were jerked to their feet by a man who was tall and had dark brown flipped hair, his brown eyes glued to Bryce's head. "Make one move boi and I'll shoot ya got it?" His Canadian voice rang through his ears and reminded him of the other man's voice he had heard before hand. It was enough to send chills down his spine. "As for you," The man with the beard growled as he grabbed the girls arm roughly. "You're coming with me."
"No! Bryce do something!" Meg cried as she tried to jerk away from his grasp. Her eyes locked with his as Bryce tried to make a step only to hear the gun behind him load, he froze. The siblings eyes locked for a second and he could see the disappointment on her face as her lips mouthed his name in confusion. "I don't like killing people man so please just do as I ask." The man behind him sighed out and the blonde held his head high as he shoved him forward once again.
It wasn't long before they got to where the leader was talking about, it was a a small room filled with new bedding and other appliances. "There's not much lights but we go with what we got." The Canadian smiled as he put his gun up in his holster and grabbed the light that was powered by batteries. "Unfortunately it gets cold in this mall so warmth will be a problem. Maybe not for you two cause I'm assuming you'll cuddle or something. Since you're siblings." Bryce stared at him with emotionless eyes which caused the boy to sigh loudly. "Look," he began again. "I don't expect you to like it here. Nor do I expect you to trust us cause honestly we don't trust you. But Ryan was nice enough to bring you in..we could've left you to die–in fact our plan was to kill you. Then there was that girl.."
Silence.
Bryce watched as he shook his head and mumbled something before closing the metal gate and locking it dead tight. As much as he hated to admit it that boy was right..on more than one level.
