Bryce pulled out the map before looking around the small area to make sure they hadn't made a wrong turn on the way to the base. Somehow they had managed to get themselves lost within the break of dawn, meaning they had made a wrong turn somewhere. He groaned in frustration as his hands dropped in frustration but gripped the map in anger. It was nearly one in the afternoon now and they had been walking since five o'clock like they normally did but apparently that wasn't enough to make their brains function normally today.

Out of all the time of traveling today his brain felt like pudding and he thought it was cause of the sleeping pills he had to take last night. He was surprised they made it out of the house alive this morning because of how much infected seemed to be roaming around last night. Now they were in the middle of no where with nothing but nature surrounding them as if it was a maze game to see who could find the ending first. Right now it wasn't looking good for them.

"Bryce look!" She smiled as she pulled his sleeve which caused his gaze to jerk to her. His blue eyes traveled from her hand to the golden spray painted arrow on the wooden board that was pointing further down towards the small town. "That must be it! It's even circled within this area!"

"But then why is this one circled too?"

She grabbed the map from his hand and looked over it before making a confused face at it. "Must be two bases? Either way we should check it out shouldn't we?" Her blue eyes locked with his for a split second but he looked away to the town where smoke came from the sky. "Yeah, stay behind me.." Meg nod defend as they made their way into it, silence filling the air. Deadly groans echoed making the surrounding area unsafe as well as uncomfortable for them both.

Bryce bit his lip as they slowly made their way through the town listening to the wind blow around trash and pass the smell of death within seconds. He held his weapon high until the sound of men yelling and hollering echoed about. Immediately his hand jerked to his sisters and he grabbed it tightly before rushing into a store and closing the glass door, they hid behind the counter. They listened as screams erupt between the two outside the store.

"COME GET IT!" Someone screamed from outside.

Bryce looked outside to see flames light stores as bottles broke against their surface then the fire came from the shadows to bite back. It was like watching a pack of wolves fight for what's right and not wrong in this world. The men seemed to be insane as they fought back with the infected who seemed to be losing the attack now, proving men were stronger than anything. Perhaps..but he saw it as showing humans were just as bad.

Suddenly a bottle broke into the glass and a gasp came from his sister as flames tore through the air around them, latching onto whatever was close. He grabbed her and began to leave from the back when wood fell in front of them causing them to back away with wide eyes. "Bryce! Wha–" she stopped and let out a shriek whenever an infected busted through the flamed window front. "Bryce!"

"Hold on!" He coughed out as he pushed the burning wood out of their way. His palm began to sting as he pushed on the metal bar but that didn't stop him from pushing on it in hopes of escaping. This was their life on the line and he'd be damned if this was how they died; finally the door opened.

Smoke came from the building as they both collapsed to the smooth concrete pavement, both coughed for air. Bryce turned around only to watch the infected run from the store and head for his sister causing him to gasp but before it could grab her it was shot dead in the head. He turned around to see a man dressed in a gas mask standing behind them with a shotgun.

"Well well, look what the kitty dragged in would ya?!"
