Bryce held his cut arm as he dashed through the woods, the thickness of them covered him from most the danger. Everything back at the cabin happened so fast and here he was leaving the man who saved his life behind. Once again he was on his own in the word, waiting for another hero.

It was always him who was the one getting away with his life. It was always him who chose to leave everyone he knew and cared for behind, no matter who it be.

Bryce took a deep breath as he slung himself against a tree and his blue eyes shut tightly as he let out a pained groan. He'd been bleeding out every since he decided to leave the man behind locked inside the cabin. Now the only comfort he had was the sound of the birds chirping and the only shelter he had was the thick trees. It wasn't much but now it was all he had.

Bryce could remember when his sister and him lived off the woods before they got caught. Their only friends was their shadows but even they disappeared sometimes. The world was cold and seemed to be lonely without the people you loved..

A twig snapped and the sound of snarling echoed causing his blue eyes to snap open and search for where the noise was coming from. His gaze locked on a big German Shepard who snarled and snapped at him while saliva dripped from its mouth. It was clear to see the dog was infected for its eyes were a solid white and there was dried blood on its coat. He could only assume it had gotten the infection by eating something or attacking an infected.

His first reaction was to slowly back away but the dog seemed to be hungry for him and nothing but him. Bryce reached for his knife only to have the dog tackle him to the ground! Fearing for his life, he caught the dogs neck, and began to hold back the beast. Death seemed to be waiting beside him for when he turned turned his face to avoid the snapping monster he saw his sister and Cartoonz sanding side by side. They were just watching blankly.

Finally he somehow managed to throw the monster aside and pull out his gun before shooting it. He watched as the animal only shook its head in disagreement before snapping at him again! Finally he got a clear shot through the animals skull, watching it fall down, he panted.

Bryce put his gun away and fell on his bottom to relax, his hand jerking to his arm as his face twisted with pain. His body ached many places and he knew he was going crazy. It was only a matter of time before his world fell and death caught up to him to pay him his final respects.

He could hear the bells dinging from the church that wasn't too far from him and immediately knew that was someone signaling for help, something he couldn't provide. His hearing began to fade as white noise took over like the virus itself.

Bryce you have to get up.. You promised me you wouldn't leave me. Bryce! Bryce get up NOW!

His blue eyes slowly opened and locked with his sister's glassy ones. The feeling of her cold hands against his face was enough to send a shiver down his spine as her words barley reached his ears. She faded away after saying his name one last time.

Silence.

The only sound around him was the sound of the wind blowing leave against earth's surface. He pulled himself off the ground and began to make his way to the church only to see how many infected were outside it. His eyes gazed at the white walls that were now patted with blood stained prints from the infected and through all the groans and screams he could hear men yelling, hoping someone would save them.

Bryce grabbed a hold of his strap and turned away from the scene, listening as the cries echoed through the trees. He knew it wouldn't be long till others arrived.
