Bryce groaned as his back hit the floor. The night sky shined through the window and he held his breath as the world around him seemed to stop. He didn't understand why he was feeling so much guilt for he thought his feelings were broken into tiny bits and could no longer be shattered. Finally everything landed on his shoulders, his heart broke into pieces.
When he thought he could cry no longer, tears began to pour from his eyes. He reached up and sat his palms on his eyes as his bottom lip quivered from his body shaking. The world began to slowly die like a flower when the season changed over time. He didn't know how to handle this much pain, it was new to him.
It was natural for people to break down in this time, when their world was crashing thanks to the infected. But not for Bryce. Not the man who had killed and watch other die. This wasn't him.
As he fell to his knees, his hands grasped both his arms, and he began to try and comfort himself. His bloody fingers stained the brown bag and he looked up to the ceiling wishing there was a such thing as a god. But now he didn't know what to believe anymore..
Bryce took a deep inhale and let it out as he calmed himself. "Get ahold of yourself!" Luke's voice cut in, it's sharpe and harsh tone nearly scared him. "You're still alive and it's gonna stay that. So wake the fuck up!" The blonde raised his eyebrows in shock as the world around him changed into a field of dead bodies and flames lit up piles in the distance.
He pulled himself to his feet and blinked before looking to Luke who had his arms crossed firmly over his chest. "There's always hope." He growled lowly.
Bryce didn't listen as his eyes locked on one of the bodies that was lying on the ground, his eyes cold as glass. He immediately ran over to the body and collapsed on his knees, his shaky hands grasping the muscular man in his arms. "J-Jon..?" His voice shook an he could feel more tears begin to grow like flowers. "Jon?!"
"You did this..."
Bryce turned to look beside him and saw his sister, her blue eyes were glass but like a mirror he could see his reflection. "No..." He denied it as he hugged the man's body. "I didn't do anything..." He is bottom lip shook as his grip tightened. A tear hit the dead man's blue shirt and began to soak into it.
The sound of screaming echoed loudly but he didn't even move from the body as he hugged it closer. It was another man that had died because of him and as much as he hated to admit it, his sister was right. He was the reason the man was dead. Because he was trying to leave him to die...
"Bryce," A voice called. Suddenly a hand was placed on his shoulder and he turned his head around to lock eyes with hazel ones. "Wake up.."
Bryce shook his head as he looked back to the man in his arms. "It's all my fault Ryan..they're dead..." He cried out. "Dead!!" The older man backed away from the blonde and just watched as he cried again.
Silence.
"Ryan.." Bryce finally whispered. "Ryan..are..are you dead too?"
"No..."
"Then why are you here..?"
"I'm not. I am just a figure of your imagination..."
Bryce locked eyes with him, "Leave.." He turned his attention back to the cold body in his arms. "I deserve to pay for this one. It's my fault. I left him when I shouldn't have and now he's gone as well." He closed the males glass eyes and stood to his feet.
"Bryce..."
"What?"
"Wake up..."
Bryce's blue eyes shot open and he rose from his sleeping spot, the sound of growling echoed loudly through the still house. He looked around and seen an infected eating on a dead body that had been there for more than weeks. It's flesh was filled with white maggots and other nasty bugs.
