Chapter six: Singing and Vocals class
❀~~~~❀~~~~❀~~~~❀
As the weeks went by, Jungkook was desperately trying to make progress with the boy he was admiring. He tried to start lots of conversations with the boy, but the only response he got was either nodding or ignorance. What Taehyung didn't know, was that Jungkook had managed to take secret pictures of him. Jungkook didn't want to seem like a creep, but he wanted to desperately have a picture of him. That way, he could draw his beauty the way he had wanted since the first time he laid his eyes on his beautiful face and figure.
Thursday was a day that was starting with Singing and Vocals class. It wasn't Jungkook's favourite, but it was a class he enjoyed. He would like it a lot more if a certain boy were in the class as well.
"Kim Taehyung?" the teacher called up when he was calling the students' names. Jungkook's face turned into a frown of confusion, but his eyes were wide open and shining, searching around in the room to find the name's owner. Suddenly, the door opened and the most beautiful thing in Jungkook's eyes entered the room. The boy had his head down, but he still met Jungkook's eyes before he looked over at the teacher.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I forgot." His voice still sent shivers down Jungkook's spine. He wished he could hear his voice just as much he could look at his photos.
"W-What is he doing here?" Jungkook whispered confused to Jimin, who was also in this class. Singing and Vocals class were also a mix class, and both Jimin and Seokjin were in that class.
"We told you, we made him transfer into the class thanks to Yoongi's father whom had literally saved this University as it was on its lowest some years ago," Jimin giggled, quite an evil giggle to Jungkook's ears, and Seokjin followed.
"Yeah, weren't you paying any attention?" he asked, but Jungkook couldn't take his eyes off of Taehyung.
"I didn't think you were actually serious," he replied, not breaking his eyes away from the confused boy. Jungkook felt sorry for him. His friends were messing with him, and it was clear he didn't like it all. Jungkook had tried to ask them why they didn't like him, but they never gave him a straight answer. It was obvious to him that Taehyung and Hoseok had a history, but Jungkook never got to know what it was. What Jungkook had noticed as he had stared and studied the lonely boy, was that he was often glaring at the members of BTS, including himself. Also other people were often glaring at him, purposely pushing him, nudging him, commenting mean things, and so on.
Jungkook couldn't help to feel sorry for him. He wanted to befriend him. It had become difficult trying to talk to the boy when his friends were always dragging him away, purposely separating the two. Jungkook almost punched one of his friends out of frustration when he almost made a conversation with Taehyung one time, but his friends ended it shortly. That was how much Jungkook wanted to talk to him.
"Right, everyone's here," the teacher mumbled to himself, and put the paper away. He then glanced around at everyone, and suddenly called out a name. "Park Jimin, come up here." Jimin was surprised by the sudden summoning, but didn't hesitate to walk up beside the teacher and waited. "Sing." Everyone frowned at the old man, and some other students were whispering to each other.
"Uhm, excuse me?" mumbled Jimin astonished and stared at the man with the widest eyes he could manage.
"I want each of you to sing a song you feel comfortable with. I want to know your current abilities." Jimin wasn't nervous at all, like how the rest were. In fact, Jimin had been hoping for this to happen. He confidently started singing his favourite song and ended it beautifully too. "Very nice. Next, Kim Seokjin." Seokjin was more nervous than Jimin. His legs were shaking as he walked up, but his voice was just as amazing as Jimin's. He also sang a song he liked and felt comfortable with. "Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook wouldn't feel so nervous if Taehyung wasn't there. He felt lots of pressure that he wanted to impress him. Changing his mind to talk to him if he impressed him with his singing abilities. Jungkook sang a song he knew he had sang before in front of his family.
"If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go," he started the song and continued. He was nervous, but it didn't show. He tried to make it as perfect as possible, but he noticed a few mistakes he had made during the short song.
"Good. Next is Kim Taehyung." No one clapped. No one even seemed to bother about who was going to sing. No one paid attention. No one but Jungkook. He couldn't take is eyes off the boy, and he felt excited to hear his singing voice.
"Uhm, can I play the piano as I sing?" the boy asked nervously and the teacher could clearly tell. He nodded, and Taehyung sat down by a big and beautiful white piano. He started playing beautifully, catching Jungkook's full attention. Seokjin tried to drag his attention elsewhere, but nothing could break his concentration. Everyone, excluding Jungkook, was expecting to hear a horrible voice that would crack even windows and glass, but it wasn't like how they had expected, or to someone even hoped. It was deep, but yet beautiful. Jungkook thought he'd faint at any second. The more he listened to the beautiful voice, the bigger his smile became. He felt happier at the moment as he could peacefully listen to the deep voice that had reached out to his heart. When Taehyung ended his song, the only ones who were clapping were the teacher and Jungkook. Seokjin tried to make Jungkook stop, but he'd only avoid his hands and words, and just continued clapping with the biggest grin.
"Amazing," Jungkook muttered astonished and didn't want to take his eyes off of Taehyung for even a second.
It was now art class, which sent a lot of joy to Jungkook. Jungkook couldn't feel happier at that moment. The teacher had just explained to them that they were given two weeks to draw a portrait of the person beside them. They had to do the best they could, and if they didn't have enough time at school, they had to take some time at their spare time. Jungkook didn't have any problem with that. He wanted to make a plan that he'd purposely draw slower than usual so they'd have to see each other after school, but Jungkook was too scared Taehyung would catch him doing it purposely.
"You want to start?" Jungkook asked as soon as they were allowed to start. Taehyung just nodded and Jungkook sat comfortable on his chair, facing Taehyung properly. Jungkook felt excited. He felt happy that he could stare at Taehyung for as long as he wanted without looking like a creep. That he finally had an excuse to face forward and stare at him. Jungkook wanted to say something. Something cheesy. Possibly making him smile, laugh, blush, anything. Jungkook wanted to a reaction. Even before he started to talk, he felt the blush taking over his face. "Don't make me look ugly, okay?" Jungkook thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, but he wanted it to be true. He saw a small hint of a pink shade on Taehyung's cheeks as he nodded weakly and started to draw. He was glancing a lot on Jungkook, making him feel nervous. There was no reason for it, since he had to, to be able to draw him a portrait. But somehow, Jungkook still felt nervous.
"Look at me, please." Jungkook's heart skipped a bit. He hadn't noticed that he was barely able to keep the eye contact with him for so long. He hadn't noticed that he kept on turning his head to the side out of embarrassment.
"S-Sorry," Jungkook stuttered, causing Taehyung to accidently let out a small giggle, which caught Jungkook's attention. That was the first time Jungkook had seen a small smile on Taehyung's face. He thought it suited him. He wanted to see it more. Wanted to hear his laugh more. Hear him laugh out loud without being able to stop.
Jungkook silently giggled for himself. He had finally realised how much he was spending his time to think about the boy he didn't know that well. It was ridiculous, in his opinion, but he couldn't help it. What word fitted the situation the most? Obsession? Madness? Creepiness? Love?
