The ocean seemed lazy, as if it were no more excited for those big waves but the small ones rose and fell like a person breathing calmly. The air seemed to dance lightly in delight carrying the smell of its beloved Sea. The Sun shimmering in all its glory enough to illuminate in its brightness and warmth but didn't cause heat. That afternoon seemed magical because it made some feel romantic, some sleepy, some hard working, some hit the gym, some lazed around while some hung out, chatting and sipping their expensive wines. But what seemed to interest the most important person here, little Vedant was his, very very genuine demand to jump of in the bigger pool that was salty.

"No, son, it's not possible. The ocean is vast." Sameer said again.

Sailing on his personal luxurious yatch, with hosting all the important and rich people along with their family, celebrating his Son's birthday, spending millions of rupees with every passing minute for making the celebration grand, he was still the most cruel fathers ever for just not allowing his dear little 4 years old life, to jump of in the Ocean, just like that.

"Please Papa, I am big Now. I have to go in the bigger pool." the child whined again. And Sameer chuckled. He had changed in the past year. He understood that she wrote those letter while she was sick. He was convinced, she loved him and that changed him a lot. He was once again the ever fit, good boxer, great father and the best businessman around. Currently, tired by his Son's antics, he did the one thing, he always did. He just lifted the child up and walked in. The child didn't like other children cry or complain. It loved it as much in his father's arms, unlike his mother. Sameer's work was still demanding, so the child got little time with Dad. He came by the pool and put the boy down. There was still time, before the celebrations started, so he brought the child here to play some. As soon as he came, little Priyan and Anika, his cute nephew and niece. And with them, Vedanta went to play in the pool. He admired the children as a certain pool incident came to his mind, which he pushed away. He talked with his brother, who was also baby sitting his children.

"You're Spoiling Vedant, Sameer, he is too young to have a car. Seeing him, Priyan is also asking a car." his brother complained.

"So what? I will get Priyan one on his birthday." Sameer dismissed coolly, like it wasn't a great thing for a 4 and 6 year olds to have a car with driver.

"No, no, Priyanka, would kill me, man. What I am saying is... You're spoiling him too much. You give him whatever he asks for." Aniruddh said.

"Like you gave me everything I wanted." Sameer said smiling.

"Yes... I didn't know back then... It's called spoiling bro.." he said smiling at his younger brother who looked happier.

"Bhai, there is a difference you know... Between him and me.. He never asks anything... It's me, who keeps giving. He only wants to spend time with me, learn boxing from me and jump into the sea." They laughed at Sameer's comment.

"That's true Sameer, he's not like you. Inspite of you spoiling him left and right, he is so simple. Always well mannered... He reminds me of gudiya.. He may look like you.. But he is exactly like her. Infact I feel Priyan is like you, adamant and demanding." Aniruddh said and Sameer nodded.

"So only his chachu is going to gift him his favorite sports car." Sameer grinned and Aniruddh shook his head at his brother's determination, he will now get a lecture for this from his beloved sassy wife.

The evening just floated by. Then the night came and so did the time to read the letter... And Vedant insisted on reading it himself.

Happy Birthday dashing boy. Vedanta grinned, he knew the meaning of dashing. He was glad his mother thought, he was dashing.

I have no idea, what my young champ likes maybe Superman or Spider Man... "Who are they Dad?" Vedant asked, he was not a fan of cartoons. "Hmm... They are like Superheroes.. They have magical power. I will show you once we reach home, okay?" Sameer said in a hurry to hear more from his better half.

Mama was very scared of Spiders, you know? But what is there to fear, my hero, my son will always be there to protect me, right? "Hihi." The bright laughter of the little boy erupted in the room. "Of course Mama, I will always protect you. After all I am brave?" the proud child directed the rhetorical question towards his Dad, and received a nod. While, Sameer felt a beautiful memory coming back.

It was a week into their marriage, they were starting for their honeymoon, so Vedanta decided to keep back the cooking book she had taken from their home library. She was gone for a long time, so he was heading there to check. As he was about to open, the door, the door opened, and he witnessed a very frightened Vedanta. She immediately hugged him tightly. It was the first time, she had initiated something between them. "Spider." she whispered and he broke into fits of laughter. "Oh God! You're so scared for a spider." he said recovering from the initial shock and hugging her, caressing her back and whispering in her ear, "Well, I have to go, thank it for, it was because of that little thing you hugged me for the first time." he kissed her ear and she shivered.

My son, I don't know if you are reading this alone or not, I don't know how much you have grown but my dear I want you to study well. Okay? The baby voice of his son, brought him back. Another father son duo wondered why would he be alone. Sameer assumed that, she must have thought due to the hostile behavior he showed his son in hospital, he would ignore him in future also. But what he didn't know was, she was hoping that her little one would read it alone.

I hope you remembered to visit the Krishna Mandir this time. "No." the baby said but quickly added, "I will after returning home." It was a promise that the baby would keep. And it was then that Sameer realised, she was trying to groom the child through the letters.

Ask Dad for some more extra chocolates this time and give it to all the street kids, you see. Okay? "Why, Dad?" the baby asked. "Because my child, you should be kind." he said, his doubts confirmed that she was indeed trying to groom their creation and happy that she wanted to include him in it. "We can do it, after reaching home. Okay?" he gently asked, his child and the naive soul nodded.

You should be compassionate, and you can ask dad, what this word means... If you don't know... Sameer laughed a little at this and the baby frowned. "I know Mama, teacher thought me. It means caring for others." he said but read further anyway.

My darling Happy Birthday and I hope you smile, smile and smile some more. The baby smiled brightly at this and so did his father.

For you to be happy, Mama would have fought with the world, so please be happy, mama wants nothing else. Happy Birthday my child. The child didn't understand the deeper meaning but smile and kissed the letter, a habit he had developed and held it before Sameer to do the same. He followed the suite smiling with a promise, 'I will do that for you, my love.'

He had learnt not to feel jealous of his child because these letters were for him and to be haply with whatever little, he got from the letter. He put the happy kid to sleep and went back to the party hall, where couples were still dancing in the dim light. His eyes held longing as it was focused on one particular couple. Out of all the woman, wearing the gowns, she stood out in a Saree. The man was in a suit. Compared to other couples, they were dancing slower, like enjoying each other's company and not the dance. They looked about in their mid 40s. His eyes focused on the man and his eyes widened as it met the man's. It was his Idol, The Naveen Singhania. The man smirked as he whispered something in his wife's ears and she turned to look at him. They started walking towards him.

"Sameer, son, how are you? I didn't see you the entire evening but I must say a certain young gentleman had kept me busy all evening." she said lovingly but his eyes widened at her words. She laughed and Naveen chuckled as they settled in front of him. "She is talking about your son, when we were discussing the Jaisalmer Plant." He laughed a little, feeling a bit proud. He knew his son was not like him but a complete gentleman. 'So, she was the beautiful lady he was talking about.' he thought. "He couldn't stop talking about you." Sameer said and she smiled sadly. "He is a lovely boy. One of the finest children, I have seen. And I credit it to you." she said. And he smiled, he knew, he was not entirely to credit, so he told about the letters to them and they were shocked. But after small talk, Navya took their leave as her back hurt from continuously carrying the birthday boy in her arms.

"You have been doing really well... I am glad I invested in your project." Naveen said leaning back and sipping the wine that Sameer offered. "Thank you." he said, happy to have made him feel glad. They did small talk and Sameer got tipsy with the alcohol invading his senses. "You know, you have always been my Idol." he said to Naveen and received a smirk in return but was shocked seeing him cry. "I also wanted a personal life like you not only professional. I miss my wife..... I miss her... You're damn lucky Mrs. Singhania is still with you." he said. Naveen didn't try to comfort Sameer and he didn't even expect. He took a moment to realise what he said and that he was crying. "We are men, Sameer. It's normal, to expect your woman to stay beside you. And I know, how you married her.... She hadn't even completed her education. Even after marriage, you didn't let her complete it. You impregnated her... What she was? 19..you took her with you all the places you traveled... For God's sake...she was pregnant...i even doubt you ever loved her." Naveen told coolly, and added, "Navya was so sad when she heard. You're ruthless man. Worse than me." Sameer felt crestfallen, "You're not very better than me. You're as ruthless if not worse... It's just that, your wife could endure.... My wife couldn't.. " he said and he was truly a changed man. He had become positive now, more believing in God and Happy. The baby had slept with a smile too.. It had been a good year and Day for them..
