Sorry I thought this published yesterday but WP glitched and I didn't catch it till this morning - MY BAD! 

Writing is hard! If it was easy they wouldn't make you do it so much in school... Or at least that is what my minionettes complain to me on a weekly basis. My answer: WRITE MORE!

Sometimes we let the fear and anxiety keep us from it, sometimes those are the things that drive us to it. In a world of 140, now 280, characters and the 7 second vine, how can we create the worlds trapped inside our minds? The answer is simply through more... more ideas... more words... more expression. But sometimes put our words out there causes a PEBKAC error.

And the manuscript just won't come out or comes out not quite the way we imagine they should be. 

Does it feel like your manuscript is trying to kill you or at least kill your sanity? 

Sometimes it just isn't there, and that's okay. Every writer has those hours..

Days...

Weeks...

Months...

Years...

Sometimes is comes when you least expect it.

Your brain on writing!

So carry a notebook or use your phone app. It adds up! An odd sentence here and there; a few hundred words; notes of something you saw IRL; or that thing in the Walmart you wish you hadn't. These are the things that bleed into creativity. My youngest seeing a single image from the Hieroglyphs in Karnac and the blurted out question, "Are those zombies?", spawn an amusing discussion about what if the Egyptians survived the first Zompocolyse and they worshiped cats because zombies were afraid of them... Seriously considering writing "How I became a crazy cat lady to survive the zompocolypse."  My point is; You never know where inspiration will come from.
