Where we live? Genre surveys

So here is something interesting as we start the last 15 days of the #85K90 - two not-your-usual genre questions.  Sometimes writing in a world beyond where we exist, can  drive one to the need for some "soup of the day".  So here we go - WOULD YOU LIVE THERE?

First for writers:

AUTHOR CONFESSION: The Chicklit/overcomer Fiction I write is this world so "Yes, I would live there because we all live there already." However, my werewolf worlds and scifi-fantasy world I would hesitate to visit even though some of the places sound amazing.

Really, Mama? You wrote it why wouldn't you want to live there?

"Why? Too dangerous honestly, too much unpredictable stuff. I wouldn't want to live in a world where my neighbors could go mad and eat my family, or live in a world where Shadow-demons are real and the entity they worship wants to devour the life-force and spirit energy of my planet or the planet we escape to."

Now, on to the question for writers as readers:

AUTHOR CONFESSION: I read a lot of dystopia and supernatural so reading is just fine. I feel the same about most of the supernatural/shifter genres I read. The genre places I would want to live are usually fantasy, or some SciFi, but I would be very picky which one. For example, Anne McCaffrey's Pern and its dragons and firelizards sound wonderful, but biomas devouring Thread spores falling from the sky - not so much.  I guess I like living in a world where the biggest monsters/demons I face are other people and the problems we create for ourselves and each other.

Here are some responses from other authors and readers (used with knowledge that these surveys were for this Writer's Club Book).

Please share your thoughts about living in the genre you write or read.
