Well, it's that time of year again! NaNoWriMo is upon us. 

Last year I started with a werewolf mocumentary but realized quickly it wasn't working so I switched to Fantasy/Sci-fi  with The Huntsman of Adamos series and managed between NaNoWriMo and the two Camp NaNo to get 'er done. All four roughs got written. Now, a new season is starting and I had so many worlds to explore. I had "planstered" a couple of different series to carry me through the next year, but a friend's illness changed my focus and I have decided to use NaNo to finish the Pagosa Cliffs Series and Devoted Sisters Series for them.  Here are a few of my future projects.

The Stone Skin Series

Welcome to the world of the Bibre (a drinker of ) Cruor (blood inthe body/ bloodshed/ gore)

They are Shifters with a 'mortal' human form. Other nonhuman half is a gargoyle/demon war-form – most males and rare females will turn to 'stone' in sunlight if caught in this form – eclipses of sun turn them all to 'stone' for an extended period. As varied as the gargoyles of Notre Dame. "Stoneflesh" really it is a protective layer of surface skin and sweat that hardens in UV light. The blood and flesh also petrify as the day passes, this leaves Bibre vulnerable to being "shattered" or "crushed". Suncreen and tinted glasses are the best thing the humans ever invented. Leathery skin is soft to touch but impossible to cut except by emerald, diamond, or the claws and fangs of another Bibre Cruor.  Some carry long blades to ward off non-bibre enemy.

Fangs fold back but don't retract ( think switchblade) – hurts to keep them folded too long, even in mortal form which gave the rise to the "human vampire" myth. 

Females are day walkers/ most males aren't – rare male daywalkers don't need protective clothing or sunscreen

Females' body temp run very hot, live in far northern or southern climes; males run cooler live in tropics,  temperate climes, mates bring a balance of temp to each other. Bonded pairs both maintain a 'normal' body temp of 96F. Unmated females run 101F while unmated males are much cooler at 91F.

Vampire tendencies but have preferences like elk blood over human blood, cats tastes like spicy food or ghost peppers, etc. Blood of witches is forbidden (hallucinogenic), wolf or bear blood is like adrenaline shot (jet fuel), humans taste badbecause of what they eat now - chemicals. Feeder thralls must eat an organic diet or the bibre gets ill. Most prefer wild game or grass raised animals (same with dragons who eat prey whole) Origin of Chupacabra myth was a partially shifted bibre-wolf hybrid.

Children only come from gargoyle form and are birthed as eggs. But pregnant women will look like normal females until birth starts then their demon will force a shift to find a dark layer. Sunlight makes eggs too hard for infants to breakout of. Females 'burn' when egg laid, curl around it to keep warm, don't move until it hatches 3 moons later, if they don't have thralls or a mate to feed them they starve but can only leave egg for an hour to find food or it cools too much. A lone female will give their child the last of their own blood rather than let it die.

Blood-learning through the process of live feeding from another bibre cruor, human, or non-human, they learn everything the from whom the blood comes knows and even sees all their memories. Bibre only feed another IF there is trust between them. Or the blood is put in a cup to prevent blood learning. 

During the Middle Ages, treachery of the Dark Alliance (warlocks) and the corrupt church, lead to the near extinction of Bibre.  Bibre were formerly allies of man and guarded their royals and holy sites. There was an Eclipse that left the Bibre vulnerable, the day of Dark Noon cost the lives of thousands as emerald tipped spikes were driven into the heads of the helpless stone skins. For centuries, there were those who still protected and provided for the Bibre but by modern times less than 100 exist and most believe the Bibre to be extinct or myth.

Bibre, _(need name)_ bird-witches, ursas (bear shifters), and _(need name)_dragons  think werewolves, merfolk, and silkies are fools for following the humans (overpopulation) and cat shifters (falling into extinction) onto choice mates path over the soul mates path. Hybrids are frowned upon if they don't die as infants from the battle of their other sides, most adult hybrids are schizophrenic at best because their 'half' can't get along or one will kill the other and subvert the mortal side leaving only the predators in control. Reptiles shifters are extinct or so everyone believes but there are stories in deepest South American jungles by some groups of panther shifters that they still live as their snakes.

The story will be kind of an Arrow-style drama, Ilvanya(?) uses her abilities to help control crime in her city with her werewolf and human thralls. Former Alpha Lucifer lost his mate but his wolf bonded to Vany's 'demon' even though he personally can't stand her, they share the common goal of finding those who killed his pack. Flash backs to Vany's centuries-long life and her uncle who saved her when their clan fell. Conflict when Luc's wolf side and her demon play mates. New drug cartel tries to move into city, run by a Bibre who has fallen under sway of greed. Combination of medieval times, world war flashes, up to modern conflicts. No outine as yet, just a bunch of interactions and battles in scribbles.

Outline of chapter ideas for plot

CH1 The Wolf, the Witch, and the Werecow

Meet Charlotte, Winnie, and Mrs. Fluffikins as they are being chased by a herd of shifters all because some heifer thinks Carlotte is after her mate... No, she is a literal heifer as in werecow

Daisy the werecow from Wildflowers by Moonlight helps them.

CH2 In the Beginning

Meeting Charlotte in the castle and why she hides her red fur and the omega's cousin who is the princess' mate and son of the Famous White Knight, her crazy Granny and the royals

CH3 the Omega's Cousin

Cousin gets rejected and leave, Charlotte exposed as a scarlet wolf, King Alpha and Queen Luna find out prince Alpha is Gay and doesn't want to be king, he wants to be a minstrel and do shows
so they make Charlotte a deal, she doesn't have to mate the prince if she finds the Cousin

also the queen's witch put her meddling father to sleep as the queen demanded, not realizing that ordering a witch to "put the old dog to sleep" means permanently... the witch turns Char into a newt and seems unconcerned with being burned.

CH4 Yellow brick road.

The only road out of the kingdom is yellow bricks leads to a world of grey boring suburbia and Char's crazy aunt who has become a cat lady 

Ch5 as much a duck

Charlotte sees Winnie getting weighed in the town square as a witch, she starts crying when she weighs more than a duck. Mrs Fluffikins jumps on Charlotte's shoulder, so Charlotte decided to help  Winnie. But the villagers decide to burn Winnie anyway after dark Winnie rises like a phoenix and crawls out of the ashes cursing the loss of her favorite dress.Tells Char it is the biggest secret of the witches - fire doesn't hurt them. 

Ch6 Skinny witches

 a whole chapter dedicated to Winnie's pursuit of weighing as much as a duck. Commentary on waif models and eating disorders.. what is it with these skinny witches... Winnie's coven  banished her because she weighed too much she tells SC about her tormentors after SC wants to know she spent all their money on duckweed pills and wafers.

Ch7 Raven got your tongue?

Ch8 Run, bunnies! White rabbits are dangerous.

Ch9 Cat Hater, Cat Lover – Char and Mr Fluffykins have to form atruce because while they hate each other by day they sleep curledtogether. Winnie gets kidnapped by a bridge troll because she liedand said he was handsome in a unique way.

Ch10 Werechihuahuas the Dreaded Darkest, Most Certainly Deadly Woods ofNo Return

Ch11 His most royal high king Alpha

Humperdink but his nana calls him humpy

Decided SC will be his mate and winnie his mistress
the Calico warrior saves them.

Ch12 Big bad dawgs? 

Pack of pittbull and Rottweiler shifters who run a kitten shelter and shifter orphanage – scariest looking tattooed bikers who are biggest softies.

Ch13 Darrol and Julie - in the Appallin'ation Mountains SC and Winnie stumble into a feud between two angry clans of hound-shifters, coon hounds and blood hounds. "This is my brother Darrol and my other brother Darrol and my sister Darlene. And we ain't want nuthin' to do with them Judes and Julies." But Darol with a broken nose, and Julie with a mole on her cheek are in love and want to elope. This is going to be confusing. Someone needs to buy these dogs a book of baby names.

Ch14 New Twerk New Twerk

SC and Winnie end up in (New York broadway) everyone looks like super thin super models, androgynous, nice to Winnie, treat SC like a freak or with pity because she is Curvy. SC sees the prince there and gets mad

Has to perform in a twerk club - only job they can get. 

Ch15 kidnapped by humpy

Let the semi-annual  weigh ins begin but SC notices something off in a reflection Mrs Fluffykins is staring at and sees the most powerful witches as they really are, not skinny at all. but before she can figure it out Humpy shows up.

During Fashion week- The were-chihuahua most royal high king alpha humperdink (whose nana calls him humpy) really wants to be her mate... and tries to kidnap her back but a maple eyes financially failing door to door syrup sales-bear helps them.

Ch16 Icelandia land of the maple leaf – The train ride north leads to Lumberjack werebears who love to sing – BE AFRAID!

Ch 17 Syrup isn't the only sticky thing they make:  Winnie falls in love again – they want her to cast a spell of perpetual fall so they can make syrup all year around, SC has to explain that without spring and summer there can be no autumn syrup harvest. Maple eyes seduces Winnie by feeding her syrup covered "everything". 

... You get the idea...

Spartan

Time frame- during ancient greek wars

Andromea– 2 yo princess, daughter of  Athenian Princess Helena, and Prince Parisius of New Troy

Polluxea or Xea Orphan becomes protector, wins right to be princess's personal guard. She is mated to a pack n the north mountains that does not believe as they do. She protects the princess and the pack, struggles to control her dual nature. Daughter of Spartan warrioress Artemea and Trojan Warrior who is lost son of Remus and Trojan Prince's protector.

Chapter outlines:

Trojans - - Polluxea is cut from her Spartan mother Artemea after she ran through burning city's firestorm carrying the last Trojan princess, shifted to warform while pregnant to survive fire enough to make it to Spartan war camp. Won't survive burns, Dies but her healer brother cuts the babies from her. One dies, one lives. Polluxea survives a night under the stars and is deemed worthy to live according to Spartan tradition. Toddler Princess is given to her uncle to raise

Uncles - Achillenon and Apollus raise Xea (weakness and loneliness) she is a struggling colicky baby,who grows into an odd child who has a blue eye and a light brown eye, little girl talks to herself all the time, refers to herself answer. very loved.

Chimera (two wolves one body –her wolf is half pale and half dark, two different colored eyes as though someone drew a line down her body. half pale with blue eye and half dark with gold eye. fights prejudice of the time but also tries to heal those she harms. Protect friends but gets expelled from school 

Spartan (warrior training)At 8, Xea is caught on the training grounds in middle of night. Her uncle begins training her as a protector. Two years later when she is allowed to begin training, she is strongest candidate. She trains to be a protector, takes lashes of whip every week, 8 years of training,Takes lashes every day for last year, she rolls a 5 (6 sided die with two 5s) every day on purpose Her back is scared in X with three horizontal stripes

Marathon – Xea trials to earn protectorship of the princess her mother died saving

Athens – Xea goes to royal court of temple city, trains to be one of the princess's courtesan

Kraken – sailing, storm wrecked - something monstrous in the waves attacks the ship, Xea and princess fight until they are cast into the water, they manager to get to shore but no one else does, the old woman on the shore says only maidens whose virtue is intact, may escape the creature.

Judeaite- while waiting to return, Princess meets tribal king Davidus, when he comes to the seaside city with his court. With him is Xea sister wolf's mate, ac rippled prince Mephibo – who has choice mate and children. He says he will not leave his life in his foster-father's royal court, the best friend of his late father. The Princess forces Xea to leave with her on a ship home

Minoans (pretending to be something she's not) –On the Island that was their original destination, the princess visit the royal court, Xea pretends to be princess servant. While she tries to get over Mephibo's rejection of her sister's wolf. She finds it harder and harder to control her bloodlust while the healer side of her dual soul is weakened. She is saved from becoming a murderer by the summon calling all Spartans home to war.

Ares -war breaks out between coastal and plains wolves and mountain wolves. The two tone female warform becomes feared on the front lines. In the year- long war. Every month she sends vessels of hearts to her mother and sister's tomb and offers prayers.

Jeagers (meeting the Mountainers) they have very different traditions but the current alpha has defeated the old one and wants peace. The old ways alphas demanded public matings and face branding of mated females, virtue as tribute, cruelty of public whippings. The younger alpha and his twin brother beta are the son of the former Beta and the former Alpha's sister. His other sister and son survive. They want war to continue.

Tribute -the king offers his niece as peace tribute in trade for the Alpha's half sister to mate to his son– princess angry but must obey, Xea vows to remain by the princess side to honor her mother's sacrifice

The princess refuses to let the alpha brand her face , Princess says she is a true princess and will not be mutilated like a slave in the Roma markets or the public mated like a Corinthian whore. She is a royal daughter of Athens and Troy. The king forces the alpha to have a royal mating ceremony and mating , the alpha agrees not to brand the princess's face, if he can brand her hand and she paints the symbol of on her cheek and brow when in public. It starts a trend of females painting designs on their faces, because they don't understand the source of the mark.

Alpine - go to mountain valley that is center of their rule. Mountianer males offended that she carries swords. That night while prowling the castle in order to do her duty, Xea meets her mate, he's drunk, she rejects him, telling him if he wants to mutilate her face and mark her, he had better bring an army. She kicks his butt. Mocks him that he wouldn't survive the trials to become the mate for a female warrior

Shrews -females of mountainers taunt princess and protector for refusing to be branded and scarred, commit petty vandalism against them but someone tries to poison princess and Xea gets angry even though they are both daughters of Trojan wolves and therefore immune to wolfsbane and silver powder.

Hunting -males leave to hunt –enemies come Xea and Beta fight them off, killing all, he sees her wolf and warform for the first time and freaks out, Xea is the wolf who stood at the left of the warrior alpha Leonidas who almost broke their lines, she killed many of his clansmen.

Beta – Xea is mated to the twin brother of the alpha who is the princess' mate, he is considered a Beta even though he is more powerful than his brother who was taken from their dying mother first. He craves his magnificent mate but his pride and her pride clash. They fight constantly in spite of their wolves. – he confronts her about the war and her fighting, demands to know what she did with their hearts she says they are in vessels in the temple tombs of Sparta. He leaves and goes to Sparta, speaks to her godfather and sees her 17 vessels in her mother and sister's tomb. Realizes he isn't her equal.

Challengers – Xea comes back from patrol to find her rooms defiled, Declares that she is a Spartan wolf and demand the hearts of those who challenge her honor, confronts females in court yard, kills the 3 that soiled her room.The princess stops her from killing the offenders' children, and challenges the ring leader who is the former alpha's daughter. Confronts her about attempted poisonings which surprises the she-wolves following her. The Princess kills her, offers the female's heart to Xea as a compensation for the destruction of her grandmother's rug.

Bloodletting -the females claim it was just a test but princess says they will be punished for daring to question the authority of a royal Athenian wolf and the honor of Spartan wolf. Together they maul but don't kill nearly two dozen females, until all submit. Alpha and warriors come home to find majority of females mauled and being healed by princess and Xea's other half. Alpha demands princess send Xea away or kill her she refuses saying those who are without honor can not dictate what is honorable to a Spartan, he is shocked he did not know that Xea was a Spartan warrior and protector.

Gemini – Princess tells Alpha of Xea's unique nature and past and that they believe the reason she is so powerful is because she carries both her and her sister's wolves, that Spartan twins are always born one to be a healer and one to be a warrior. Her sister still lives within her and offers mercy, restraining her rage and blood thirstiness explains that he is lucky that HER warrior wolf side accepted the heart offered Her and ceased killing all who shared the burden of dishonor. Princess tells him of Her meeting her sister wolf's mate and how he rejected her before shewent to war and almost lost herself to the blood, he remembers watching her fighting through the lines and killing his packmates. Tell the princess his brother is Xea's mate and she responds, only if he survives the mate trials.

Warrioress – three warriors angry about the injuries their mates received, demand blood compensation. The alpha orders her to fight them without her swords to see just how good she is. She kill one with claws, then other two shift and she does too, first time anyone besides his brother Betah as seen her warform, split color and double the size of a normal female warform as big as the alpha and Beta's warforms. Many warriors recognize her as the warform. She ends them both then howls a challenge none answer. Her WF bows to the princess who scratches her ears. Much to the dismay of the Mountainers.

Changes– princess and the alpha have their first child. Together they have stopped many practices the previous alpha and his father started – like child marriages and branding for mates' faces. Some young females want to learn from Xea, elders object but Xea trains them anyway

Hord – nomadic warriors of the east attack the mountainers

Gambit - princess sends Xea and her females into Hord territory to spy and she decides to rescue captured males including her mate. The males are being made to fight to the death for sport. The Xea's trained females are able to over power the guards but an alarm gets shouted and Xea makes a desperate choice to sacrifice herself. 

Mongol – Xea and Beta are captured leading Hord warriors away from escaping females and warriors – forced to fight against beast and other captured warriors. - together none can beat them, the leader decides they should fight each other. After vicious fight, Xea lets him stab her with a silver blade. When Mongol turns her over she pulls the blade and stabs him, the Beta breaks free and rips his head off, then pulls her beside him. The warriors bow to them.

Chieftans – Xea and her mate are taken to the leaders tent, surrounded by rich tapestries and silks, they tend each other's wounds, and a whole lot more.

Sunrise– Xea and Beta now alphas, move the Hord away from the Mountainers and back to the eastern hill country. In spring, they lead them further east back to the land they were driven out of. Xea says goodbye to princess

Tarnished Stars: I had some serious timeline issues to resolve with the other books but working on it. 

 Anemones are Blue: This is the closest and most organized as the AU of Red Velvet ending.   

Cowboys A La Carte : I have a world built that I am happy with but I am not happy with my mystery plot. not NOT not happy.
