"No," I stated, "I'm a normal girl! Nothing is special about me! I don't have angel blood, I don't have demon blood, I have human blood. I'm quite happy with my human blood. I'm not a weapon and I'm not a fighter."

"Maia, there are so many things you don't understand-" my mom began.

"No!" I interrupted, "stop saying I don't understand! I understand completely! I-"

"Maia, did you see Lucifer?" My mom asked.

"Of course I did," I replied, venom seeping through my voice.

"Joshua, did you see Lucifer?" My mum asked.

"I-" Joshua started.

"Josh?" I whispered.

"N-no, I didn't see him," he answered.

"And why do you think that is, Maia?" My mom questioned.

"I-I don't know," I sighed in defeat.

"You are special. Your vision in the river? You were falling? That doesn't happen to normal people. Maia, you don't have to trust me but if you don't help, you won't have a home. Humans will become extinct. Usually, I'd give you time to think about your decision but we don't have time. "

"I don't know. I don't understand," I cried.

"Maia, listen. I know you probably don't like me or something," Chastity started, "but hear me out. Lucifer is going to kill us all. We are no match against him! Why? Because he has the Sins and the Malum. If you don't help us, then you might as well kiss those sins goodbye. If Lucifer wins, he'll kill us, including you, but if he doesn't win, then he'll kill the sins because he's an asshole. I know you don't want that. No one does. Neither do we. As long as the sins live, we live and vise versa. Just...for once, ignore all the pain you've went through and do the right thing."

"What do you want me to do?" I yelled.

"I want you to calm down," my mother approached me.

I backed away, "stay away from me."

She looked pained but listened, nonetheless. I looked at all of them and I realised that they really were running out of options. Usually, you'd think angels would have everything under control but they looked...lost?

"Maia," Kindness called.

"Hmm," I hummed.

Before she could say anything, the door busted open. A man wearing light blue and white, who had wings on his back, was panting. Through his deep breathes, he managed to say, "they're here."

Time has never been faster for me. Within seconds everyone stood up and ran out of the room. Chastity grabbed onto my arm and pulled me into a room. She gave me white and gold armor to put on to protect myself. She passed me a sword and in a rush, she began looking for something. After a few minutes of exasperated swearing and grunts, she handed me a small jar of golden liquid.

"Your mother told us to remove all your angel blood. She also told us to keep it safe for extreme situations. Drink it. Your powers will return to you," she informed.

I stared at the bottle. Everything was happening so fast, "i-i can't. I'm not worthy of this power."

Chastity inhaled and looked at me with sadness in her eyes, "Maia let me tell you something. You are worthy and once I tell you this story, you'll understand exactly how worthy you are. What does my name mean?"

"Chastity is to refrain from sexual acts," I replied.

"I lost my virginity," she stated.

My eyes widened, "you what?"

"To Lust," she added.

My heart plummeted, "Chastity..."

"I lost my virginity to Lust and I broke my traditions. Why? Because Lucifer had the Malum and he used it to increase Lust's power. He wanted Lust to seduce me into giving him information. I guess his powers were stronger than mine and I broke. But here I am, still with the virtues. Your mom told me that everyone makes mistakes, even virtues. I felt like I should have been banished forever but I am still here. Val said that no one should be judged on one wrong action."

I listen to Chastity open her heart out to me. It moved me that she actually told me this. I grabbed the jar and drank its contents. Surprisingly, it had no taste.

"Maia," someone said at the door. I turned around to see Joshua standing in armor as well.

"Wait wait wait, you're fighting too?" I exclaimed.

"Yeah. If you are gonna fight, then I will with you. I'm always going to be there for you," He smiled
