I unlocked the door and walked immediately to my room followed by Connor to find clothes for him. Luckily, I still had some of (e/n)'s clothes. I handed him the clothes and went back to my closet to get less conspicuous clothes for myself.

When I turned back around Connor was in the process of taking off his shirt. Face burning, I turned around immediately. Connor noticed this, "What's wrong?"

"You have to wait till I leave the room."

He sounded confused, "(y/n), I'm an android-"

"I know that," I interrupted, "But... Well... Are you, um, anatomically correct? Like, completely?"

Apparently I wasn't blunt enough because he didn't seem to understand what I was really getting at, "Well, I don't have internal organs but all androids are-"

"You know what, just wait until I leave the room to finish," I walked out of the room leaving Connor standing there with his shirt halfway off with a confused expression.

I changed in the bathroom. When I came out Connor stood waiting for me. The clothes looked good on him but something about his outfit was nagging at me in the back of my mind, "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, (y/n)."

I gave him a smile to assure him that I wasn't upset or anything, "It's fine Connie. It's not your fault anyway."

He looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't find the words. After a moment he said, "(y/n), I know this is probably a bad time to bring this up, however, I fear I may never get the chance to say this again... Androids are able to see how humans, and even other androids, view them so we can correct ourselves for wrong behavior... When... when I refused to shoot Chloe, I noticed that your opinion of me changed. It changed from 'companion' to 'lover.' Would you tell me why it changed?"

Oh fuck, here we go. I was sure he would figure it out eventually but immediately? Well, there's no point in lying, especially if either of us could die tonight. I took a breath before answering, "I know this may seem a bit too sudden since we have only known each other for a few days. But when you chose to spare her, that's when I realized... I realized that I had fallen in love with you."

I looked down at the ground, feeling embarrassed about admitting it and even a little ashamed of myself, "I know it sounds crazy and I know you probably don't even know what love feels like but, I can say that it's the truth."

"Not to be rude, (y/n), but you haven't let me react. Please look at me." I looked up at him as asked to see he'd moved closer and was now smiling.

"As you know, I'm not used to emotions. But I do know that you make me feel something with everything you do. Frankly, I like the feeling being around you gives me. So, if we both survive this, will you teach me how to love?"

Now it was my turn to smile. It was kind of cheesy but I knew he meant every word of what he'd just said. His words just now made me the happiest I had ever been. As a response I leaned forward and placed a quick kiss to his cheek. Unless my mind was playing tricks on me, he looked mildly disappointed when I pulled away but I knew he'd understood what it meant.

We continued to stand there in a comfortable silence. Then we both started to lean in. My brain took that exact opportunity to tell me what was wrong with his outfit. When our lips were only inches apart I stopped and blurted out, "Hat!"

Connor was surprised at my sudden outburst, "What?"

"A hat," I repeated, "You need something to cover your LED. You need a hat."

He cleared his throat and stepped backed a little, "Oh... Right..."

I blushed, realizing I just ruined the moment. I excused myself to try to hide my embarrassment, "Uh, I'll... I'll go get something."

"Of course."

I found a hat quickly enough but stayed out of Connor's sight for a few moments to shake off what just happened. When I regained my composure I walked right up to him and put the hat on for him, making sure his LED wasn't visible, "There. Let's go find Jericho."
