Hello everyone welcome to an all new chapter. Today's chapter is going to be a special one but before I start, are there any Glee fans here? Or at least heard of the tv show Glee?
Anyways I remember seeing Harry Shum Jr (Magnus Bane) in Glee and he was a total dork but became a fan favorite or at least I was a fan of him. He was an incredible singer so that inspired me to make a fanfic where Magnus sings to Alec and the song is Mine by Taylor Swift...that is what the chapter is about...spoil alert. Also I will be changing some of the lyrics instead of "careful daughter" it will be "careful son"

Here's what this chapter is going to be about: alternate universe. No Shadowhunters. Magnus and Alec recently broke up after a huge fight, a few weeks later, Alec's friend Jace, his sister Izzy,  Clary and Clary's brother Jonathan (yes guys he is a good guy in this chapter) take Alec to a bar and karaoke where Magnus surprises Alec by singing.

Also Im going to give credits to Akimao on Deviant Art for that fanart above I saw it on the internet and fell in love with it and it seemed accurate for this chapter.

"Come on Alec come out of your house, you've been in here for days...look I know your heartbroken over Magnus but that doesn't mean you get to mope around in your aparment all week and shut your friends out" Jonathan said banging on Alec's door.

Alec and Magnus gotten into a huge fight. Magnus broke up with Alec. Alec cried throughout the week. Clary, Izzy, Jace and Jonathan tried to help Alec through this break up by taking him out but Alec decided to shut himself in his apartment, not talking to anyone. Clary, Izzy,  Jace and Jonathan became very concerned.

Alec groaned and slammed a pillow on his head trying to drown out the banging of the door.
"Well I tried Clary he isn't responding" Jonathan said giving up.
Clary rolled her eyes then went up the door and knocked on it softly "Alec I know you're in there please come out we're worried about you"
No responce
"Izzy is worried and so is Jace come on Alec"
Still no response
"Wow Clary still nothing what's next? Are you going start singing Do You Want To Build a Snowman?" Jonathan laughed. Clary punched her older brother's arm.

Alec sighed, he threw he pillow off the side hitting the coffee table. He sat up and went to the door. He took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Hey Alec. You look like shit" Jonathan said earning another punch on the arm by Clary.
Well Jonathan wasn't exactly wrong. Alec had bags under his eyes showing signs of no sleep and has been crying. His hair was a mess, he was wearing baggy clothes. He looked a mess.
"How are you holding up Alec?" Clary asked.
Alec shrugged. "Im fine I guess" he responded.

"Look Alec, you haven't been answering your calls especially Izzy's calls she is worried sick about you Alec. Jace is worried about you as well along with me and Johnny"
"I know Clary Im sorry-"
"We are taking you out Alec. You need to get out of the apartment"
"Clary im fin-"
"You are not fine Alec! Okay stop lying to us"
Alec stayed silent
"We are taking you out. No buts and no fuss okay."
Alec sighed "fine. When do we leave?"
"Right now"
"What?"
"Did I stutter?! I said right now that means get your ass back in there and get dress"
"Alright alright im going" Alec said walking back in
"Oh and Alec"
"Yeah?"
"Dress to impress" Clary said and winked.

Later that night, the gang went to a bar and karaoke called "Pandemonium". As they sat down, Clary ordered some drinks and got a text "oh darn"
"What's wrong?" Jace asked putting his arm around his girlfriend.
"Simon can't make it tonight. He has to rehearsed with his band for his upcoming show tomorrow"
"Oh darn I was hoping he'll be here tonight" Izzy said a little bummed.
"When are you going to ask him out Izzy?" Jonathan asked sipping his beer
"I was actually going to sing for him" Izzy said
"Aw" the group said except Alec who was drinking his...3rd bottle of beer.

The night went on, there were terrible drunk singers on stage which gave Alec a headache. All Alec wanted to do was go home, eat ice cream and watch movie that he and Magnus liked so much and cry his eyes out. He missed him so much and thinking about him made him miss him more. Him and Magnus dated for almost 3 years then everything slipped right out of Alec's hands. Alec drank more of his beer trying to fight back tears. Jace looked over and rubbed his shoulder in a botherly way, it's lile Jace knows Alec is hurting, he knows how it feels...its like they're connected.

After another terrible singer was done singing a person went on stage
"Um ahem...hello" the person started and Alec instantly perked up...he recognized that voice
"Hey Alec...isn't that Magnus?" Jonathan asked.
The group's attention went to the stage.
"This song is for the person wo I love very much who is sitting at the table. Alec sweetie, I love you so much" Magnus said earning a few aww's from the crowd.

Alec sunked down in his seat.
"This song is for you Alec"
The song started.

"You were in college working part time waiting tables. Left a small town, never looked back"

Alec was blown away by Magnus's voice, he didn't know he could sing. The worse part is...this was Alec's favorite song. He once danced with Magnus on their first date.

"I was a flight risk with a fear of fallin. Wondering why we bother with love if it never lasts"

Alec closed his eyes and listened as his ex was singing. Why did he have to sound so good. This is painful especially since he was having flashbacks of his relationship with Magnus.

"I say " can you believe it?" As we're lying on the couch. The moment I can see it, yes, yes I can see it now"

Alec remember he and Magnus were lying on the couch. They just got done making love, Magnus's head was resting on Alec's muscular chest. Alec remember asking Magnus what he was afraid of.
"Losing you" was Magnus response.

"Do you remember, we were sitting there by the water? You put your arm around me for the first time. You made a rebel if a careless man's careful son. You are the best thing that's ever been mine"

Alec remember hearing Magnus having an argument with his father, Asmodeus, he didn't approve of his son dating a Lightwood. Asmodeus and the Lightwood parents didn't exactly get along. Magnus told his father to go to hell and left with Alec and never came back.

"Flash forward and we're taking on the world together,  And there's a drawer of my things at your place. You lean my secrets and you figure out why I'm guarded,  you say we'll never my parents' mistakes"

Magnus remembered when Alec told him he could move in with him. After his falling out with his father, Alec opened up his home to Magnus.
Alec remembered seeing Magnus smile. That was the first time they ever said I love you to each other.

"But we got bills to pay, we got nothing figured out. When it was hard to take, yes, yes, this is what I thought about"

"His voice is breath taking. Alec you didn't tell me Magnus could sing" Jonathan said
"....it's because I didn't know..." Alec said softly, but it sounded like he was trying not to cry. Alec looked over at his sister,  she was recording Magnus singing. What is shocking is that everyone is silent. It wasn't like earlier when the terrible singers were on, everyone was talking and laughing. But everyone was silent.

"Do you remember,  we were sitting there by the water? You put your arm around me for the first time. You made a rebel of a careless man's careful son You are the best thing that's ever been mine."
"Do you remember all the city lights on the water? You saw me start to believe for the first time. You made a rebel of a careless man's careful son. You are the best thing that's ever been mine."

One day, Magnus started to have second thoughts of moving in with Alec. He loves Alec but he wasn't ready to move in with him. Magnus told Alec how he really felt with this whole moving in situation. Alec was angry and confused.

"And I remember that fight, two thrity A.M, as everything was slipping right out of our hands."

That talk ended up in a huge fight. Magnus packed up his things and left Alec.

Magnus looked at Alec and contiue to sing to him and made his way towards Alec.
The group looked at Alec. 
"I can't breathe" was all Alec could say before Jonathan and Jace forced Alec to get up and pushed him towards Magnus.

"Braced myself for a goodbye cause that's all I've ever known. Then you took me by surprise, you said " I'll never leave you alone""

Magnus placed his hand on Alec's arm and smiled. Alec smiled slightly, he had tears streaming down his face.

"You said "I remember how we felt sitting by the water and everytime I look at you, it's like the first time."

Magnus then slowly reaches into his coat pocket to grabbed something. He kept singing hoping to distract Alec a little while longer.

"I fell in love with the careless man's careful son. He is the best thing that's ever been mine"

Magnus revealed a box then got down on one knee and opened it. It was a beautiful silver ring. Alec put his hands on his mouth. The group gasped. Izzy was in tears, so was Jonathan and Jace.

"Hold on, make it last. Hold on, never turn back. You made a rebel of a careless man's careful son. You are the best thing that's ever been mine"

Magnus let the rest of the music play as he spoke into the microphone"Alexander Gideon Lightwood, the moment I met you, I knew you were the one. And the day I walked out on you god I regretted doing that. That very day was when I realized I couldn't live without you. And I couldn't think straight cause all I kept thinking about was...you"

"(Hold on) do you believe it?"

"I love you so much Alexander"
"(Hold on) we're gonna make it now"
"Will you make me the happiest man alive"
"(Hold on) I can see it (yes yes)"
"And marry me"
Alec was blown away. Alec was crying but it was a happy cry

"Yes. Yes Magnus I'll marry you"
Magnus smiled then stood up and kissed Alec.

The crowd cheered and so did the group.

"I can see it now (see it now, see it now)"

I must admit this is the longest chapter I have ever written. So I will keep this note short.
