hello hello! i've joined a lovely graphic competition entitled pentacle, which i've added as an external link to this chapter. there are lots of talented individuals participating, so I highly encourage you all to check out their submissions as well.

the prompt for the first round is to create a cover with the title "hecate," who is the goddess of witchcraft. perfect for the spooky season! here's my submission below, as well as the full image for the purpose of this competition.

a little bit about the graphic:

i was inspired by the idea of witches and how their black magic can be seductive and alluring. to create this air of mystery, but also enticement, i focused on enveloping the model with wisps of smoke, created by the candles at the bottom of the cover that are used for seances. the background is faint, but it but's the witch's lair, where she concocts potions and practices her magic. I decided to go with a blue colorization because it contrasts the model's beautiful dark skin, but also give the cover that mysterious vibe that I wanted it to go for. 

anyways, i joined this competition to improve on my graphics skills. i'm excited to see what the other prompts will be!
