Hallie's P.O.V.

Well, Shane asked me out on a date. This is how it happened.

*Flashback*

I was under a tree, doing my homework. I was going to go and visit Phoenix and the rest, but decided not to. I had to admit, I was liking it here in Auradon.

But that didn't mean I wouldn't stop helping Mal and Malia from getting the wand. I wanted to impress my father so bad.

He sometimes yells at me and stuff, but I guess that's his way of showing how much he cares.

Sometimes, I wished I could see who my mother really was.

My father has told me many stories about her but I was hoping to meet her someday.

I then saw Shane walking towards me. He sat down beside me and placed an arm over my shoulder.

"Hey, my little pirate." he greeted. I smiled.

"Hey, Snow Prince." I told him.

"I was wondering if you wanted to, you know, go on a date with me?" he asked me.

My eyes widened and I felt a smile grow on my face. "Hmm...sure." I replied.

"Okay. I'll pick you up after school." he told me.

We spent the rest of the time together under the tree. I was really falling for this guy.

How would my father react to this, though?

I was currently getting my hair and makeup done by Lonnie and Tina.

Evie wanted to help out, but Lonnie suggested she take a break, since she spent about two and a half hours on Mal.

Evie then decided to take a break and went to meet up with Doug.

Lonnie took me to her dorm room along with Tina.

"So, is Shane going to be your date at the coronation?" Tina asked.

"Yeah. He makes me feel special for once." I told her.

"Guess you guys have it pretty rough on the island, huh?" she asked me.

"Pretty much. I have a mom that I don't know. My father doesn't really pay attention to me, and this is the first time I feel wanted." I explained to her.

"Hallie, Shane loves you. I can tell. You think he's scared of a villain? Why do you think he asked you out? Because you are worthy of being happy with him." Lonnie told me as she began doing my hair.

She ended up having it in between straight and curly with a braid on it.

Tina asked me if I wanted makeup and it took a lot of thinking before I told her that I wanted a natural look. so I just had mascara, a bit of eyeliner on my top lids and lip gloss.

I wanted to go natural and let my face breathe for once. Tina put the makeup on me.

"Here. Why don't you try these on?" she told me as she showed me a silver dress, gold jacket, and black boots.

I went to the restroom and changed from my Isle outfit into the new outfit. The dress stopped just right on top of my knees, and the gold jacket fit my figure well. I put on the boots and then stepped out.

Lonnie and Tina gave me a smile as I walked out.

"You look beautiful. Come see yourself." the daughter of Tinkerbell told me as she guided me to the mirror.

I looked and smiled at my reflection. I actually looked different, but a good kind of different.

"See? You are worthy." she told me as she stood behind me.

"Oh, before I forget. Take these." she told me as she handed me my black shorts and tank top.

"Why?" I asked.

"He told me where you're going. Just in case." she explained.

I got a small backpack and put them in there.

Then, there was a knock on the door. Lonnie went to open it and when she did, it revealed Shane.

"Hey, Lonnie. Is Hallie here?" he asked.

"Yeah. She is." she said as I stepped forward.

Shane smiled as he looked at me.

"Wow. You look beautiful, my little pirate." he told me. I smiled as I felt a blush creep on my cheeks.

"You really think so?" I asked him.

"Would I ever lie to you?" he told me. I smiled as Tina lightly pushed me out of the room.

"Have fun both of you. Let us know what happens, Hal." she said with a smile.

I nodded before she closed the door and headed to who knows where.

Shane took my hand and guided me to a motorcycle. He handed me a helmet and I put it on as we both got on.

"Hold on tight, beautiful." he said. I smiled and giggled as I wrapped my arms around his waist and we were off.

'So, this is what love feels like. After a life without knowing how it felt, I finally get to experience it. In fact, he seems to be the only reason why I am enjoying Auradon. I'm just worried. Of what my father and twin brother will do if they find out about me being in love with a prince of Auradon.' I thought to myself.

Soon, I found the enchanted forest where Shane asked me to the coronation.

We took off our helmets and he carried me bridal style.

"Close your eyes, beautiful." he said. I smiled as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Why?" I asked.

"There's a surprise." he said. I closed my eyes and leaned my head on his chest.

Soon, he stopped.

"Open." I heard him say. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the exact same spot where he asked me to be his date.

Only, there was a picnic and a beautiful, sparkling lake. I smiled as we walked over there.

"It's beautiful, Shane." I told him. "I knew you'd love it." he told me as we sat down and began eating what was set up.

"So, how long have you been a pirate?" he asked me.

"All my life. I began my training at 9 years old." I explained.

"By the way, did you tell your parents about, you know, this?" I asked him.

"I did. However, they got upset. They want me to leave you for a princess. However, I won't do that. Most of the princesses here are snobby, self-centered, damsel in distresses. You, however, are caring, strong, and fearless. I can tell you're not evil. If my parents don't like that, I could care less." he explained.

I smiled as he gave my forehead a gentle, loving kiss. After he pulled away, he got up.

"Let's go for a swim." he said.

"Umm, Shane. There's one problem. I don't know how to swim. I almost drowned when I was smaller and I've been scared of water ever since" I explained.

When I was 8 years old, I was with my father on his ship with his crew.

Unfortunately, one of the idiots was drunk and he ended up throwing me into the sea.

I remember how I struggled to stay above the water until my twin brother, Harry jumped in and retrieved me back onto the ship.

I sometimes have nightmares about that time.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll be right here to help you. I'll give you lessons." he reassured me.

I sighed and nodded. I got my backpack and took the shorts and tank top out.

"Umm, is there somewhere I can change?" I asked.

"Sure. There's a couple pillars over there where you can change." he explained.

I nodded and walked until I got to the pillars and changed out of my dressy outfit and into my shorts and tank top.

I got a hair tie and tied up my hair in a high bun before I went back to where Shane was.

He took my hand and led me to the water. He went in first, and I froze in fear.

"Shane, I-I'm scared." I told him.

"It's okay, Hallie. I'm right here." he said.

I took a deep breath before putting my bare feet in the water, immediately panicking as my body was covered by the water.

I thrashed around before Shane held me close to his bare chest.

"You're okay. It's okay." he whispered softly. I nodded.

"Now, let's start with floating." he told me.

He put a hand on my waist and back until he put me in a floating position. I took a deep breath and nodded.

He let me go and I was about to panic until I felt his warm hand in mine.

I began to slowly relax as I let myself float in the, I gotta admit, relaxing and cool water.

"This isn't so bad." I told him as I continued to float.

"Okay, now. Go into a position where you're about to swim." he said.

I did as I was told, my stomach and front part of my body was at the bottom.

"Now, move your arms and kick your legs. Eventually, you'll be swimming. I'll swim beside you." he explained.

I nodded and did as he said and before I knew it, I was swimming!

I was finally swimming! I actually liked it!

"Shane! I can swim now!" I told him as I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him.

"I knew you could do it, my little pirate." he told me as he gave me a sweet kiss.

I smiled as he went underwater and began to swim on his own. I instantly looked at the surroundings before I began to sing.

I finished as soon as I heard splashing come from behind me and I saw Shane there, completely soaked. I smiled before I went underwater and my eyes widened at the beautiful floor of the lake.

There were sparkling rocks and so much beauty to it. I resurfaced and Shane smiled.

"Race you back." he told me.

"You're so on, Pretty Boy." I told him as we began swimming.
