I sat in my dorm at Auradon Prep texting my boyfriend King Ben when something tapped on the window. I looked over to see an owl sitting on the window sill with a letter in its beak. "That's odd..." I mumbled. I walked over to the window and opened it. The owl promptly hopped inside the room and dropped the letter at my feet.
          I bent down and picked up the letter. Once I saw that it was addressed to me, I opened it.
          'HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)

Dear Miss Mal,
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

I looked up. This had to be some kind of joke. I texted Ben, asking if he had ever heard of a place called Hogwarts. He had heard of the school and encouraged me to go. The owl was still in my dorm. I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote my reply to Hogwarts telling them that I would go.

-------------------one week later-------------------

I met Professor McGonagall in London so that I could buy the supplies needed for Hogwarts. I looked at my list.
'HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

UNIFORM
First-year students will require:
          1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
         2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
         3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
         4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.

SET BOOKS
All students should have a copy of each of the following:
The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk
          A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
          Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling
         A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch
         One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore

         Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander

OTHER EQUIPMENT
          1 wand
         1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
         1 set glass or crystal phials
         1 telescope
         1 set brass scales

Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad

I looked at the professor. "Where could we possibly find any of this stuff?" I asked.

"Why, in Diagon Alley of course." She smiled. Professor McGonagall led me through a pub I didn't even notice before called the Leaky Cauldron and led me out back. She took out her wand and tapped a specific pattern onto the brick wall. The brick wall opened up to reveal a shopping area filled with people in robes.

Once the shopping was done I went back to Auradon. In a few months I would leave to go to Hogwarts. It was all so exciting.
