Authors Note: this takes place in whatever episode Rei gets caught in the storm and Makoto goes to save him.

The howling wind and rain beating against the tent awaken Makoto.
'Its really coming down hard isnt it?....huh??'
Anya and Rei were gone.
Where could they have gone???? Makoto thought to himself. He heard a faint scream for Rei coming outside. His eyes widened as he ran out and squinted as he looked out and saw to figures in the water. He immediately ran to Haruka and Nagisa's tent.
'WAKE UP ITS AN EMERGENCY!!!!'
Both of the sleeping boys jolted awake at the sudden intrusion.
Makoto didnt wait for them and quickly stripped and ran out. Rei and Anya were close but when Makoto jumped in the water a huge wave came crashing down on the two out in the water.

Makoto couldnt see them. Haruka was beside him and they both set out while Nagisa stayed at the shore so he could help when they come back. Haruka dove under and saw Rei and quickly swam to him. When he rose to the top, he looked around for Makoto. Suddenly, Makoto appeared with Anya. Unlike Rei who was coughing and gasping, Anya wasnt awake.

They all reached the shore safely and as soon as they stood up Haruka punched Rei in the jaw.
'Im so sorry, i-i was just trying to practice... i didnt want to hold all of you back!'
'Because of you she is hurt' Haru replied coldly. He stopped and his expression turned to a different kind of serious as he turned around and rushed to Makoto who was next to Anya's body. Her eyes were closed and he head was to the side. Makoto was grabbing her hands and arms checking for injuries. He leaned his head down to her chest. Her heartbeat was so faint he almost didnt think it was beating. He began mouth to mouth cpr trying to clear the water out of her lungs. Nothing was happening. He pressed his face against her chest again and heard nothing. Haruka was leaned back on with his elbows on his knees with his head down. A few small cries can be heard from the boy. Makoto was desperately trying to save his girlfriend as Nagisa ran to them with Ms. Amakata who was holding an emergency bag. The storm cleared out now and the only thing to be heard was Gou's sobs into her brothers chest that she called down. He was Anya's friend when they were younger. He was trying to hold back his tears but a few escaped. He brushed them away with his fist and tried to be there to comfort Gou. Ms. Amakata tried shocking Anya's heart back but nothing happened. She stood up and fell apart.
'Im her teacher. I was supposed to make sure nothing happened'
Makoto could do nothing but stare blankly at his love's tiny body. She looked so small and helpless.
This isnt fair. She didnt do anything.... she was just trying to help. He scooted closer to Anya and held her in his lap. Usually she would curl into him as he would playfully bury his face in her neck. But this time her arms didnt wrap around his neck, they dangled at her sides. She didnt lean her head on his muscular chest, her head was limp and hung back as Makoto cried into her chest.

He clung to her as hard as he could. He touched her soft hips that he would rub when they would cuddle. He pressed his face into her hair that smelled of saltwater but also heavily scented with her natural sweet smell that he could never get enougj of. He tried grasping at her hands but they would never return his firm hold. His sobs were enough to break everyones heart like his was. He would never get to tell her he loved her or hear her voice tinkle as she laughed, or see her blue eyes stare at him. He just wanted Anya back.

-time skip-
After the funeral he went back to his house and to his room. At the bottom of his sock drawer was the diamond ring he was going to give to Anya. Tears dropped onto his hand as he held it up. He looked around his room adorned with various items that belonged to her. He picked up an oversized shirt of hers that was thrown to the floor by him when they were in bed. He smelled it and her honey sweet scent filled his nostrils. He smiled sadly at the memories she left in his room by her things.

He was cleaning his room to get his mind off of things with the ring she never got to wear dangling at his neck. Makoto was taking out his garbage when he accidentally knocked it over and one of the few items that came from the bin was a pregnancy test that read positive.
I was a dad....i was going to be a father.
He called Haru and told him and then told Gou along with Nagisa. None of the team members had spoken to Rei nor had they attempted to approach the blue haired male.
He sat there staring at the stick in his hands wondering what wonderful life he could have had with a wife and child.
