THE BIGGEST LIE EVERYONE DOES IN THE DIGITAL WORLD

In this generation, social media have become one of the biggest parts of people’s lives on the daily basis. We enjoy posting about our newly-bought gadgets, our grand vacation, our latest watched movies, or even about our current mood, and about a lot of random things. But let me ask you a question, have you ever read the agreement statement the first time you created your Facebook account? Your Wattpad? Your Instagram? Every information that you’re filling up on a website is important. Your information creates money. How? Halimbawa, sa Facebook, nilalagay natin ang birthday o edad sa General Information settings, pagkatapos may mga businesses na gustong mag-advertise ng kanilang products. Let’s say, the company is Universal Telecom Incorporated  and it wants to sell the latest postpaid plan that they have, and the target market would be people aging 18 and up (kasi may trabaho na). Globe contacts Facebook (the vendor), then Facebook will post the ads on the Facebook feeds of those users aging 18 and up.
Key point: do not overshare your personal information on social media. There’s a lot of people phishing for information and they can use that against you.
