Sunny's POV

It's almost Christmas, and with Christmas comes winter, and with winter comes colder weather.

At least that's the case for everyone else in the Northern Hemisphere.

I go to boarding school in California, and it never snows here. I love the snow, and I especially love seeing Tokyo covered in snow.

"The temperature hasn't dropped below 50 degrees." Grace Khatri said, sulking. "Cooler than Delhi, but what gives?"

"Yeah- I want a true Christmas." Lars Sua said. "I'm from the Southern Hemisphere, and Christmas in the summer is nice and all, but I want snow. I want cold weather for once."

Grace laughed. "I don't celebrate Christmas, I'm a Hindu. But you don't need to be Christian to play outside in the snow!"

"We're also sophomores. Aren't we too old for that?" Mia Fernandez said from the corner. I rolled my eyes and said "Ladies, gents, and enbies, this is Mia Fernandez, resident party pooper."

"Oh my God. I'm only saying that because I've complained about wanting to play in the snow before. And the response has always been 'Mia, you're too old for that.' And I thought every single kid thought that."

I felt bad. Even though we lived in California, I still wanted to give my friends the experience of a true winter break. I looked to Evie Schubert across the room with a smile and then I felt my phone vibrate.

Evie: Meet me in the culinary room tonight once everyone's asleep.

"What are you doing?" I said, trying to make sure Evie heard me over the sound of whatever machine was going off. 

"Trying to make snow." Evie said. "Now shush, it's 3AM."

"Shush? This thing is louder than a lawn mower, and how did you get the copy room paper shredder in here anyway? Isn't that place locked?" I asked.

"Calm down, Kobayashi. There's a student copy room down the hall, and I'm stronger than you think. I can carry a shredder down a hallway. Granted, I think I pulled a muscle, but still." Evie said.

"Next time, ask for help or don't do it at all! You can literally buy fake snow, this is America! Ugh. Whatever...this doesn't look like snow at all...and is that someone's tuition bill?" I asked.

"Lars, Mia, and Grace don't know that!" Evie said. 

"Grace may be the dumbest human to ever walk the Earth, but I know damn well she knows that snow doesn't have words on it. Anyway, where are you going to hide this stuff until tomorrow morning?" I said. 

Evie smiled and said, "Follow me, I have a plan."

The plan was all set in place, and when I snuck back to my room a few hours later, Grace was sound asleep and she didn't even stir when I opened the door. Step 1, done.

Before getting into bed, I put a hat and a pair of mittens on the foot of Grace's bed. Grace kicks a lot in her sleep so she kicked the hat off almost immediately, but I'm sure she'll find them when she wakes up. Step 2, done.

Grace woke up and groaned, and then picked up the pair of mittens. "IS GLOBAL WARMING CURED OR SOMETHING?" she yelled.

"Grace, although I would love that, no. Now follow me, I have a surprise for you." Grace reluctantly got out of bed as I led her out the door and down the hall.

"You're gonna get in so much trouble, Sunny, whatever you're doing. All the teachers went home and so did half of the students. You're lucky I don't celebrate Christmas."

"What does your religion have to do with any of this? I celebrate Christmas and you don't see me back at home in Japan, do you? Whatever. Just follow me."

I led Grace down to the culinary room, where Evie was standing with a sly smile on her face. Grace dropped my hand and looked to the both of us.

"What do you have planned?"

"Grace Advika Khatri, stop being such a worrywart!" Evie said. Lars and Mia walked up to us a few seconds later, also very confused.

"I woke up at 5AM to a note on my bed telling me to come down here." Mia said. "What gives? It's winter break, let me sleep!" 

"Trust me, my host family was not happy when I ran out of the house saying I had to go to school. My sister asked me to explain, but I didn't have an explanation! And why did you tell me to bring the warmest thing I had?"

Evie and I looked to each other and she said, "Check it out..." as I opened the door.

Grace gasped and looked to Lars and Mia in pure elation.

"SNOW!" they all yelled at the same time, laughing like children and running around. I looked to Evie and squeezed her hand, it made me happy to see my best friends so happy before.

"I'm glad you guys are having fun." Evie said.

"We tried our best." I said.

Grace giggled, popping up from a mound of fake snow and turning towards the rest of the group. "Next order of business, what gay thing are we getting Kai Hudson for Christmas? Pride flags? A ticket to a Pride Parade? Both?"

Lars laughed and said, "Nice try, but I think Kai's Jewish."

"KAI HUDSON IS WHAT NOW?" Evie yelled. "That means he's gonna be at the school Hannukah party, I can't deal all alone with him!"

I patted Evie's shoulder and said, "Good luck, Eve, now let's play in the 'snow' and cause chaos."

AN: When I was on call with @SIXSQUIPSIMP, I planned the Kai being Jewish thing- I just changed it up a bit. Let me know if you want to see a oneshot of Evie's revenge plan at the Hannukah party, even though Hannukah already passed!
