Shifters are typically human creatures that possess the ability to change into the form of a specific animal. There has been cases of Shifters that are able to change to look like another person, however these are few and far in between.

Abilities/Powers: similarly to werewolves, Shifters have heightened senses. Their powers/abilities heavily rely on the animal they shift into, and as such vary from Shifter to Shifter.

Societal & Political Stuffs: Shifters like to blend in with human society, and of course depending on the Shifter, they'll either lie low or be attention seekers, both somehow keeping their shifting a secret. Shifters tend to not associate with one another, so there aren't a lot of Shifter communities. Of course, there will always be exceptions to this information.

Mating: After Shifters hit puberty, their mating cycle will closely represent the animals' they shift into. They typically don't have mates, so they're free to choose who they mate with.

Transmission: the only way to be turned into a Shifter is if one's entire blood system was flushed out with that of a Shifter's, essentially being completely replaced.

Lifespan: The typical human lifespan of eighty to a hundred and twenty.

Natural Enemies: Simultaneously having none and many, a Shifter's main enemy is poachers and vampires. Since Shifters typically shift into very rare animals, this puts them at higher risk of being poached/hunted. In regards to vampires, their blood is strangely like a drug, unlike how the blood of were-creatures like werewolves makes them physically ill.
