Sameera's POV

I was scared to open my eyes.

My hands were over my ears and I had cowered  down, on hearing the gunshot.

I believed I couldn't bear the sight of Aayush dead, and I waited to be the next victim of the madman.

But, the man who shot had fallen to the floor, much to my surprise.

I quickly looked up to see Aayush shocked, his mouth open in horror and he stared at the gunman like he had seen a ghost.

I didn't understand what had happened when one of those gigantic men , whom I had seen earlier,came near the gunman and kicked him hard.

He also picked up the man's gun.

I winced at the harsh behavior of the man.

Apparently, that man had shot the gunman in the leg, so he fell to he floor.

Aayush's father came in and gave a victorious laugh.

"Didn't I say we would catch him, Aayush?"

"I....what....", Aayush stammered.

He, himself didn't understand what had happened.

"This is the man who tried to kill you , son",his father said.

"He thought you were killed when he hit you,after that he heard the news that you were alive and he came right away to the hospital to kill you, right into the lion's den !"

I was shocked.

Who would want to kill him this bad?

A thousand questions exploded inside my mind.

Could Aayush have done something wrong?

No, I couldn't think of him like that!

Such a sweet guy !

I trust him !

Aayush interrupted my thoughts !

"But, why Dad? Why me?"

Aayush's Dad went near the gunman and threatened him,"Open your mouth and answer his question!"

But, he just groaned in pain and remained silent.

"Answer or I 'll kill you this instant !", Aayush's Dad pointed a gun to his head.

"No..please..Don't....I ...I'll tell the truth"

"Go on"

"I was sent to kill your son"

"By?"

"I don't know sir. I promise.We only communicated through calls.He threatened to kill my family if I didn't kill your son."

"Why was he desperate to kill my son?"

"He didn't tell sir"

"Do you want to be buried in this hospital itself? No one outside is going to know your whereabouts ! Shall I ?"

"He...he ....wants the property that you bought , an year back"

"Hah ! So that's why the coward is trying to kill my son, huh? I will take care of him."

"Take him away", he ordered to his men.

They dragged him outside, while he begged them to leave him alone.

"Who is he, Father?"

"Am not sure son. He is surely  one of my business rivals.But, I will not leave him alone.", he said angrily.

"What are you going to do to him?", I asked scared.

"Nothing sweetheart.", Aayush's dad smiled at me.

 I was more scared of his dad, than of the gunman now.

"We will just hand him over to the police.Did you get scared , my dear?"

"No Uncle", I said, wiping my tears.

I obviously hadn't realised I had been crying.

"Come on now.", he said and took me outside.

"Make her feel better dear", he said to Aayush's Mom and left me to her.

I had no idea where Karthik  was.

Aayush's mom gave me some food and tried to calm me in every way possible.

She was was a very sweet and humble person.

She said,"Aayush is my life. I nearly died, when I heard he got into an accident.Now, this"

She sighed.

I felt pathetic.

Ofcourse, every mother has a fear, as to what will happen to their child.

Meanwhile, Karthik came calmly and saw Aayush's mother and me having a conversation.

He winked at me and asked,"Shall we leave Sameera?"

He hadn't known about the incident, apparently.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Thank you very much Aunty.I am sure he will be fine soon", I assured her.

"Take care dear", she smiled at me .

"Let me say goodbye to Aayush", I said and rushed inside.

"Aayush!"

For the first time, I called him by his name.

"Sam. I don't know what to tell you......."

I cut him short.

"I never really got a chance to thank you for saving me.", I said sincerely.

He looked at me surprised.

"I don't know how I am gonna repay you back.If there's any help I could do, please let me know."

"Of course, other than the eco club thing."

He said,"There could be nothing more braver than when you said "Please don't shoot him" to that man"

I  couldn't fully understand what he meant, but I smiled.

I smiled for having met him in the first  place.

"Take care Sam", he said.

I came out blushing like a  crazy girl in love.

Well, I am one !

"What are you blushing for?", Karthik asked.

"Nothing.", I still smiled.

"Happy now?", he grinned at me.

"By the way, you Mister,why do you disappear every time I am in a problem?"

"What?", he was confused.

I told him everything what had happened at the hospital.

He stared at me, in disbelief.

"All right.Are you planning to direct a movie or what?"

"This is exactly what happened Idiot !"

He took a long time to believe me.

"Okay. I guess Aayush's Dad has a long list of enemies then !"

"Think so"

"Anyway Sameera, I have got news.", he grinned.

"Am all ears !"

I had never seen Karthik smile like this !

So, I guessed it would have been good news.

"I...um...", he couldn't say his words.

"You?"

"I..."

"You what Karthik?", I was highly impatient now.

 God, this Idiot !

"I proposed to Sushma !", he said at one go.

"YOU WHAT?", I almost screamed.

I couldn't believe my ears.

"When?", I shouted happily, holding his shoulders and shaking him.

"Today morning", he blushed.

Wow! Karthik and Sushma !

Two completely opposite personalities !

"How come, both of you...I mean ...."

"You must be wondering how  a quiet girl like her could fall in love with a talkative, rambling idiot like me?", he grinned.

"Yes!"

"Not a big love story, but she was the girl whom those guys made fun of that day."

"Uh-huh", I was confused.

"Then, she came to thank me and we fell in love with each other  and I officially proposed my love to her, this morning."

"Wow. This has been a secret for such a long time !", I pretended to be angry with him.

"Sorry Sameera. I just wanted to give it time. Would I hide any secret from you?"

"You won't, and I was stuck in the fight between you guys !"

"Sorry da. I never knew it would happen...", he started all the talk again.

"Never mind ! I got to meet Aayush right ! That is the big deal !", I said happily.

"Haha...yeah..."

"So, shall we go meet her?She is  at the hospital cafe!"

"Okay !!"

"Sir"

"What?"

"The man we sent to kill Aayush has been caught sir."

"Oh...no..How?"

"His father caught him red handed sir. He seemed to have revealed details about us."

"That scaredy-cat ! How dare he betray me? Does the police know about this?"

"They have him in custody sir!"

 He immediately rushed towards the front door.

"Where are you going sir?"

"Fool ! I have to escape from here.Tell Mother that I have some important work and don't tell the police will be looking for me"

"But..sir...He doesn't know your details."

"Aayush's father is a very dangerous person.He will definitely find me soon !Move out of the way !", he shouted.

"Okay sir."

"And you-", he threatened him,"better keep your mouth shut about this!"

"I will sir"

"I will take care of Sameera after some time.She is not going to escape from me."

I admit this is a kinda boring chap people, but it is crucial to the story  !!
