Recap

While returning from the hospital, Chris is hit by Aayush due to his suspicions on him. He threatens to reveal the truth, due to which Chris tells him everything about Sam. Aayush gets to know about Sam’s entire past and feels heartbroken. He goes to the hospital the next day and finds that Chris is very close to Emily and Sam. He thinks that Sam likes Chris now. He goes home frustrated and gets heavily drunk. Ashok comes to meet Aayush along with Chris and tells him that Sam still loves him and that she had rejected Chris’s proposal few days back. Chris gives him the ring that Sam was wearing and assures him that there was nothing between them.

Aayush’s POV

The morning sun shone brightly. I woke up happily, after a very tiring night.

My head ached due to the heavy consumption of alcohol last night.

The events that had happened last night flashed through my mind.

Yes, Sam was not married .

My darling was out there, sad and alone. But God had given me another chance. I was definitely not letting her go this time.

I had planned to go to the hospital in the evening to meet her. I didn’t want to disturb them early in the morning.

I finished my morning chores, dressed up and left for office. I greeted my colleagues cheerfully and went to my cabin.

“Someone is very happy today !”, I heard a familiar voice.

I turned to see Ashok grinning. He was standing by the door, with folded arms.

“You know the reason dude !”, I grinned.

“Never seen you this happy ! By the way, why are you here ?”

“What ?”,I asked surprised.

“You should be with her, man !”

“I want to surprise her . Chris will be with them for sometime. I have this planned out. Don’t you worry “.

“Duh ! Okay. Have to check some mail . See you later !”, he left to his cabin.

I sat down on my chair and thought that I would check up on Sam.

I dialed her number but the line was busy. I thought that it was some important stuff and that she would call me back.

Meanwhile, there was some crisis in office and my manager had summoned me to handle it.

I didn’t realize two hours had passed and I totally forgot that I had to speak to Sam. I hurried out of the work area to call her. Just then,  I received a call.
It was Chris.

I picked it up and was shocked to hear his terrified voice.

“Aayush ! Aayush !’, he panted, out of breath.

“Chris, what happened ? “

“Sam……she is missing !”

“What ?”, I shouted, unable to believe what I had just heard.

“Yes…Aayush..am scared !”

“Chris, tell me exactly what happened ?”

I couldn’t imagine what could have possibly occurred. My heart felt heavy and I started to sweat.

“I went to the hospital to check on them. Emily’s room was empty, much to my shock.
When I asked around, they said Emily was discharged today morning itself.
They don’t know anything more than that. I tried calling her, she didn’t pick up. I don’t know what to do Aayush !”

“Listen, go to her home and check if she is there. Am on the way !”, I grabbed my car keys from the table and rushed out of the office.

WHAT THE DEVIL WAS WRONG WITH MY LIFE ? WHY THE HELL WAS EVERY BAD THING HAPPENING TO ME ?

Anger boiled through me and blood gushed through my veins. I felt very angry and worried at the same time.
Where could she have gone ? Along with Emily ?, I was confused.

I had reached the basement car parking. I rushed into my car and sped away towards her house.

Yeah, I knew where she lived. Chris had told me.

Bizarre thoughts filled me and dread increased .

What if someone had kidnapped her ? At the same time when this thought crossed my mind, a puppy  ran across the road. I swerved my car and narrowly missed hitting it by inches.
I breathed a huge sigh of relief and started my car again.

Who would even think of kidnapping her ? She has no enemies ! Then who would have done this ?

What if Harish was behind this ? Nah ! He is dead ! That b*****d !

Then……
Suddenly, it struck me ! Harish’s mother was still alive ! What if ? What if she had tried to do something to her.

But she was in India ! How could she come here ? Maybe she could have hired someone to do the dirty job !

NO NO NO ! This can’t be true ! I wanted to call the cops but I thought it would be better to go check her house first.

I had reached her house and found another car parked there already. It was Chris’s car. I turned off the ignition and ran towards the front door.

But the porch was already occupied by someone. The guy had his arms wrapped around his legs and his face rested on his knees. Apparently, he had heard me coming. He quickly lifted his face and I saw it was Chris !

“Chris ?”

He looked up and I saw tears running down his face.

“She..is not inside.”

My insides churned and I couldn’t believe what was happening. I rushed inside her house to check for myself.
I checked every single room but I couldn’t find them.

No, I was not ready to give up.
I came outside.

“Get up ! We are leaving !”

Chris looked shocked.

“Where ?”

“Chris, I deeply regret letting her go the first time. I am not letting this happen once again. Whatever happens, I am going to get her back. Do you understand ?”

Chris nodded and didn’t speak a word.

I felt fire inside me and I was damn sure that I would get them back. I was worried about Emily too. She is my daughter now and as a Father, I would never let anything  happen to my princess and my queen.

“Chris, we are going to your office now. “, I said, as we got inside my car.

“For what ?”

“Listen, I just have a feeling that we might find answers there. Trust me.”
We reached her office in half hour. All the while, Chris tried calling her but it was unreachable.

After reaching her office, Chris led me inside. He made me wait in the lobby while he went inside to deal with it.

Chris’s POV

Aayush waited outside, while I went to my manager’s cabin.

I directly went inside without knocking , while he greeted me cheerfully.

“Chris ! Good evening ! Why aren’t you at work ?”

“Mr.James, I want you to tell me the truth !”

He was a stout and cheerful man, with a balding head.

He raised his eyebrow.

“Regarding ?"

“You know what I am talking about ! I want to know where Sam is !”

His expression changed quickly and he managed to hide it well.

“So that’s what this is about !”

‘Chris, she has been transferred to one of our other branches .”

“Oh God ! Did you do it ?”
“No, she had personally requested me, a few days back.”

I let out an air of relief. At least, they are safe.

“Okay Mr.James, where is she transferred to ?”

“I am not at liberty to reveal that information , Chris !”, he smiled and started typing on his computer.

“You have to tell me where, please.”, I begged.

“I am sorry, Chris. You may leave.”
I bumped my fists on the table, much to his astonishment.

“I want to know where she is ! “, I said, staring into his eyes.

“Chris…I..don’t understand…why…”

“Sir, please, the love of her life is searching for her. They are to be united after many years. Please understand. If they don’t meet now, they probably will never be able to. Please !”, my anger turned to tears.

My manager looked at me stunned , with his mouth hung open.

“Please …”

“You will find her at the airport…she is going to California. Her flight’s at 6 ! ”, he sighed.

“Thank you James. Thanks a lot. “, I happily cried out.

He smiled ,” Go, ask her guy to get her quickly.”

I nodded and ran as fast as I could to tell Aayush. He was impatiently walking down the corridor and I broke the news to him.

We rushed to the car and he asked me to fasten his seatbelt. I knew it was going to be one hell of a ride.

Aayush took control of the wheel and I knew we wouldn’t reach the airport without almost driving to death.

I screamed my guts out as Aayush drove as fast as he could, hitting trash cans on the way.

I often turned to see of any cops were following, but much to my amazement, there weren’t anyone on our backs.

By sheer dumb luck, we reached the airport without any damage to ourselves.

We jumped out of the car and Aayush screamed to me, “Take left. Find her ASAP ” and he ran towards the right.

I ran inside as fast as I could, searching everywhere for her. What if she had already boarded the plane ? God, no !

I was determined to find her !

Hey my dear people !!!!!  Its been a very long time since I have updated my story. I am extremely sorry guys,  I was held up with work and I couldn't find sufficient time to write.  Hope you will forgive your dear author ;). 

So, how was this chapter?  Am eagerly waiting to hear from all of you!
