Aayush and Sam meet unexpectedly at the hospital. Both of them are totally surprised to see each other in New york ! Aayush thinks that he is hallucinating until Sam talks to him. They small talk but both of them don't know that they are single. Aayush thinks that Sam is happy with her husband. Sam thinks that Aayush is married and is happy with his wife. Meanwhile, Sam also tells him that she and Harish have adopted a baby girl, Emily. Aayush fondly asks her if he could see Emily, for which Sam obliges. She tells him that Emily has mild fever hence they were in the hospital. Aayush tells her that he was on a personal visit and thinks how ironic that he was in the hospital because he had nightmares of Sam and she didn't know about it. Both of them are secretly sad , wishing that they had ended up together. Sam feels jealous of Aayush's wife (imaginary) while Aayush thinks how dumb Harish was. A nurse asks Sam to meet the doctor , so she leaves hurriedly. Both of them realize that they miss each other very much.

Aayush's POV

"ASHOK ! ASHOK ! ", I shouted as I got out of the elevator in my office to search for him.

People stared at me as if I was a scientist shouting "Eureka !". I wanted to see Ashok at the very moment. My head seemed as if it would burst if I didn't tell him everything that had happened !

I was early for work that day. I pushed past people and rushed towards his cabin at the far corner of the office.

"ASHOK !", I shouted as I pushed open the door of his cabin.

He almost jumped off his chair and was very much surprised at my entry .

"Aayush ! Are you okay man ?", he asked, trying to get up from his chair.

But I pushed him down on the chair and put both my hands on his shoulders and shook him.

"Ashok..I saw..I saw .."

"Who ? Robert downey ?", he chuckled at his lame sarcasm.

"No Idiot, I met Sameera !"

I expected him to be shocked but he frowned .

"What are you frowning for ?"

"Aayush..you have been hallucinating again !"

"No..Ashok..I swear..I went to meet my psychiatrist yesterday...that's where I met her !"

"Huh ?Are you sure ?", he doubted me.

"Yes you damn Idiot ! I am not hallucinating. I spoke with her, she said she and her husband have moved to New York and they have adopted a child, Emily !", I said in one go !

"Is that so ?", he seemed to think deeply.

"Yes Ashok ! Please believe me ! "

"Yeah..okay..because I have never seen you this happy !"

"I am delighted because I saw her man ! "

"So, does she know that you haven't married ? Was she happy about it ?"

I remained silent.

"You didn't tell her, did you ?"

I shook my head.

"Well, that's for the best else she would worry about you. Atleast now, she will be happy that you have moved on with your life !"

"Yeah, I guess so !", I said and sat on a chair.

"The point is, Ashok, I love her ! I can't stand the sight of her being her with some other guy !"

"You should have thought about it when you united her with Harish !", he said angrily.

"I didn't know what to do ..she loved her Granny very much. I didn't want her to make a choice between me and her family !"

"Then don't sulk now ! Pray that she should lead a happy life !", Ashok said and went outside .

Maybe he was right ! I should try to accept that she wasn't mine anymore. She had a husband and a kid to take care of . I shouldn't over think ! Maybe fate didn't want us together !

That's what I believed in until I met her again . It was around 10. 30 in the morning, when I spotted her crossing the road.

"Sam !", I shouted and rushed after her.

She didn't hear me due to the sound of traffic.

I crossed the road too and ran after her !

"Sam ! Hey !"

She quickly stopped and turned to look at me running at full speed towards her.

She wore a brown trench, black bootss and had let her hair loose. She looked beautiful as always !

I stopped, gasping for air.

"Aayush !", she smiled.

I managed to say "Good morning " in between my panting .

"Where you headed to ?", she asked.

"Breakfast !"

"Care to join me ?"

I was taken aback by surprise ! Well, would I say no ?

"Sure !", I said and we entered a nearby cafeteria.

It was crowded by office-goers mostly but we managed to find an empty table .

"What are you going to have ?", I asked.

"A chicken sandwich and a cappuccino ! You ?"

"I got it !", I said and went to buy our food.

We remained silent while we ate. Our table had a view of the road and we ate while watching the passers-by .

"So..work huh ?", I asked.

"Yeah, I just dropped Emily at school ! What about you ?", she asked as she sipped coffee.

"On the way to work.", I replied and leaned back on the chair .

"Are you unhappy with your job or something ?"

"It's just that its Friday and am really not interested to go to office today !"

"Hmm, I too feel the same. There won't be many clients today, so it'll just be a boring day at work !", she sighed.

I didn't know what happened to me at that moment, but I shouted out excitedly, "I've got a plan !"

"What ?", she chuckled.

"Hey Sam, why don't we go sightseeing today ? Huh ? I mean..there isn't much work for both of us today, so ..why don't we ?"

"Aayush ! No way ! I've got to leave !", she said as she tried to get up.

"Sam, please, for old times sake .", I said as I held her hand and looked at her in the eyes.

"But..Aayush...it might not turn out to be as easy as expected !", she hesitated.

"Sam..all that has happened between us..it's in the past .We are not doing anything wrong. It's just two old friends hanging out together ! Please !", I pleaded.

"Oh..Aayush..you still get me !", she accepted defeat , "Fine ! I'll come !"

Yaayy ! My heart leapt in joy ! No medicine, no doctor was needed to cure me, just this moment was enough !

I knew she was married and all that stuff, but I just thought this would be our last chance to be together ! We were just going to sight see, that's it !

So, we finish our breakfast and headed out of the café ! She stood near the entrance with her arms crossed and asked, "Where to ?"

"Somewhere. Anywhere .", I had no idea as to where to visit. Every moment with her was precious and I had to spend it wisely.

Then, we decided to go watch a baseball game. We went to the ground, booked tickets and found a nice spot to watch the game. It was between the local teams of the city.

Sam seemed to enjoy the game but every second, I thought only about her. Who would want to watch a game when the love of their life was sitting next to them ?

The team that Sam supported won and she jumped up and down while cheering ! She hadn't changed a bit. I happily admired her.

By the time the game was over, it was past noon and we were very hungry !

We spotted an Indian restaurant nearby and barged in.

We had ordered so many dishes and it took almost an hour to finish off everything ! The food was very tasty and I made a mental note to visit the place often.

"Do you want any dessert ?", she asked me.

"I'll go with just ice cream !"

"Fine by me ! ", she said and ordered a chocolate and strawberry flavored ice cream. She just did that on her own !

"You still remember my favorite flavor ?", I asked her surprised.

She quickly looked at me and said calmly, "Yes, I do ! "

She remained silent after that and tried to keep the conversation to the minimum !

Maybe she missed me ! I was an idiot to bring back our old memories ! Damn ! , I scolded myself.

All I wanted was her to be happy !

After lunch, we decided to watch a movie as we were tired to roam about the city. There wasn't any superhero movie at that time and she bought tickets for some rom-com.

I tried as much as I could to prevent sleeping but then I couldn't control it. Sam never spoke a word from the start to the end of the movie because she was totally engrossed in it. I had a nice nap and Sam woke me after the movie was over.

I yawned loudly as we made our way to the exit.

"What's with you and rom-coms ?"

"The people just keep on talking and there is no action involved in it."

"Duh ! This movie was awesome. They portrayed the love between two people very beautifully !", she blushed.

"Well, never mind !", she laughed, "Sorry there wasn't any of your fave action movies !"

"Hey, as long as you are happy , I have nothing to worry about !"

Her expression changed.

Wrong move ! Why couldn't I keep my mouth shut ? I didn't want to seem like someone who took advantage ! I didn't speak in that sense too. It just came out of my mouth.

She looked at me keenly as if she was studying my expressions.

It was evening now !

"Now, where to ?", I asked.

"Aren't we parting ways now ?", she asked surprised.

"Nah ! Not so soon", I grinned.

"Oh, Aayush ! I am very tired."

"Please. There's just this one last place to visit. You'll enjoy it !"

"No !"

"Please Sam. For my sake !"

She rolled her eyes.

"Fine ! This is the last place we are visiting ! Wait here, I have to make a call !", she said and disappeared somewhere for a few minutes.

Yahoo ! My whole body was filled with energy. I never got tired despite of roaming the entire day , because I was with my angel !

"Let's go !", she said , coming back.

It took us half an hour to reach the spot. She kept on guessing where we were going , but she could never tell it right !

We went to Central park .

"Central park ? Is this your surprise ? I come here almost every weekend ! ", she said , disappointed !

"Wait. You'll see ! Be patient Sam !"

We walked for sometime, on the paths through the trees and reached an open area.

"This is it !", I said and moved aside.

Sam gave a surprised look when she saw what was there

People were ice skating in the park. The view was beautiful. There were tall buildings around the park shimmering in golden lights, tall lamp posts that lighted the entire ice skating area, trees with icicles hanging on every branch , and people skating in the centre.

"It's beautiful !", she said.

"That is why we are here !", I smiled.

"What are we going to do here ?".

"Ice skate, of course !", I said and pulled her to the stand where they were renting skates.

I helped her to a pair of skates and fastened two to my feet also.

"Aayush, I don't know to skate !", she trembled.

"I'll take care !", I said and tightly held her hand.

She was scared of falling down and so I held her tight.

I gently skated and pulled her along with me. She fell down a many times , so I asked her to stretch out her left arm and try to balance.

She laughed every time she fell down and her face went pink, probably from the cold. She enjoyed every minute of skating and she forgot herself for a while.

Then, I took her into a dancing position and held her waist, and asked her to put her left arm on my shoulder.

"Aayush, what are you doing ?"

"Sam, we are gonna dance while skating !"

"Aayush ! I can't even skate and you're asking me to dance ! Are you insane ?"

"Relax ! You won't get hurt !"

She still hadn't put her arm on my shoulder ! Just then, she slipped and I pulled her up.

She hastily put her arm on my shoulder to prevent falling again.

I gently back skated while holding her tightly. I had actually forgotten that she was married and she must have forgotten too, because she never questioned me when I put my hand on her waist !

I just didn't want her to fall ! I didn't have any other intention !

We slowly waltzed on the ice and I made sure she felt comfortable with it.

We reached the corner of the ground where there were railings for beginners to hold and practice skating.

She had now put both her arms around me and looked into my eyes.

"Wish things are the same as before ", she whispered.

"Yes. I wish the same too. I wish I hadn't let you go !", I sighed .

She was very close to me and I wanted to kiss her. Right there ! Maybe, she thought the same too !

Sameera's POV

I was held in his arms !

I felt safe when I was with him.

He was very close to me.

I wanted to kiss him ! Maybe, he wanted to kiss me too !

I leaned forward to kiss him and he came forward too.

Just as we were about to kiss, reality struck me !

HE WAS MARRIED !

GODDAMN IT !

I quickly jerked my face away and wriggled out of his grip.

He bore a confused look.

"I told you , it might not turn out to be as easy as expected !", I said to him and removed the skates from my feet.

He stood there, looking flabbergasted !

I somehow got out of the ice , as we were near the railings and I ran.

I ran as fast as I could , away from the park. Away from Aayush !

Tears blinded me and I hastily wiped them off.

What have I done ? I tried to kiss my ex ! I tried to kiss a married man ! What a bad woman I was !

I ran all the way from the park . I didn't know where I was going !

My mind was full of these thoughts ! Where had my senses gone to ? How could I agree to go sightseeing with my married ex, even though I had feelings for him ?

My head ached badly. I hated myself for agreeing to go out with him ! I wanted to run away somewhere, but I remembered that I had Emily.

How could I forget that I have a daughter to look after and go roaming with Aayush ? I was a bad Mother !

I immediately went home and rushed inside.

Emily was eating in the kitchen and Chris was cooking .

"Mommy !", Emily got down from the chair and ran to me. I grabbed her and kissed her .

"Sorry honey, Mommy was late !"

"It's okay Mommy ! Uncle Chris picked me from school and we came home."

"Hey, everything all right ?", Chris came to me.

"Yeah ! Thanks a lot Chris. Sorry for burdening you !", I apologized.

"Enough with your apologies ! Come eat ! ", he led me to the kitchen.

What a horrible day ! I could never forget this in my life !

Aayush's POV

I stood there blankly , not understanding what was happening !

"I told you , it might not turn out to be as easy as expected !", she said and rushed from the place.

She ran away without glancing back !

Things slowly began making sense to me !

I tried to kiss a married woman ! A MARRIED WOMAN !

How sick I was ?

I wanted to punish myself !

I had crossed my limits and I hated myself for it.

I only wanted to spend a day with her and wanted to make her happy as far as I could !

But, I couldn't control myself when I tried to kiss her !

Her words still echoed in my ears !

I realized I could never forgive myself for what I tried to do.

I put my hands on my head and groaned loudly in despair !

I HATE MYSELF ! I HATE MYSELF !

I walked out of the park and went to a nearby bar.

I drank how much I could ! I wanted to forget everything that had happened ! I wanted to forget her ! Why did I even meet her ? Why did I have to give her so much of pain ?

I took out my cell phone and called Ashok !

"Why did I meet her ?", I asked him in a gibberish tone .

"Aayush ! Are you drunk ? Where are you ?"

"I drank the entire bar Ashok !", I laughed .

"Damn Aayush ! Just tell me where you are !", he shouted.

"Cen...cen...", I dropped to the floor.

A strong pair of arms grabbed me and took me outside. The person had put my hand around him and I swayed from side to side .

He put me inside a car and he drove !

After sometime, I heard Ashok's voice !

"Aayush ! There you are !", he helped me out of the car and took me inside a house.

"He would have drunk everything there, if someone had let him !", said a voice I couldn't recognize.

"Thank you Brian !", Ashok said and he put me on a bed.

"I want to forget her Ashok !", I whispered as I fell asleep.
