Maid 15.

"Every single day, every word you say, every game you play. Every night you stay, I'll be watching you. Oh, can't you see? You belong to me," Every Breath You Take, The Police

"Don't be a dick, Travis."

I heard a snort on the line as I continued to mop the hardwood floor with oil. "All I'm saying is, you haven't really told me how your job was working out. Every time I mention it, you get all tight and whatnot," I could tell that he was folding his arms on the other side of the call and I rolled my eyes, trying to figure out how to get out of this. I knew I couldn't say anything to him because of the confidentiality agreement that I had agreed to.

"Like I told you on the first day," I ran through my words like it was a marathon. "Everything is fine," Though, the words themselves were a lie. Everything and everyone was going to complete shit and I knew it had a lot to do with the sudden arrival of Satan's best friend. Thankfully, after that one meeting, I never ran into him but who was to say? It had only been a day. I was just ready for the weekend to come so I could spend my weekend in bed.

"I'm just saying, I just want you to be careful," I heard the baby monitor go off and I put my mop in the cone, making my way towards the baby's room. "Is that your baby crying?" Travis teased and I blushed, instantly hanging upon him. That bastard could wait. "Hey," I cooed as I walked in, her cries ceasing at the sight of me. Nishan wasn't in, and it made my life a lot easier because I didn't know how to deal with him after I came down from the high of all that excitement.

I leaned over and picked her up, taking her out of the crib so that I could gently bounce her on my chest. "What's the matter?" I pouted at her as she rubbed her eyes, pushing her head in my neck. "You're alright, babe," Noelani quieted down, her soft snores filling the silence of the room. I could not deny that my heart filled with immense affection every time I held her in my arms. I really couldn't.

"Who's the baby?" I heard a voice and I stopped myself from jumping, realizing who it was. "Oh, hey Jude." I said, laying her back down so she could sleep more. I didn't know how I managed to do the chores I needed and watch a child, but I did.

"She's a child that Nishan is fostering right now," I explained in simpler times and the man raised a brow, closing the door behind him. "Oh, that son of a bitch?" He exclaimed and I glared at him, reminding him that a baby was in the room. "Sorry. I was confused as to why you're watching her and not him," Jude chuckled, mirth in his grey eyes. "Almost as if you're sharing the child between you both," I blushed as the insinuation of his words, shaking my head. "N-no, nothing like that!" I shook my hands. "No one else is capable of watching her like I am," I said truthfully, taking step towards him so that I could leave.

This house gave me enough creeps as it was, and with its current inhabitants, I had no idea what would happen. Now that I knew Easton was behind the murder of Naomi, I had no idea what to do with that knowledge. Eve was scared of her brother and she was scared of telling Leon. I had no why though. Natalie was having a bit of an unstable mood and seeing Noelani triggered it. She also seemed to be afraid of Easton, though the reason was unclear. Nishan hadn't come in contact with him, and I suspected that it was intentional. Leon was just Leon. I felt sorry for him.

I walked into the sitting room, fully intending to do some dusting or something in here, but I wasn't expecting someone to already be in here. "Oh, h-hi Mr. Leon," I waved awkwardly as the man turned to me, a small smile in tow. "Hello," He replied and I faltered unsurely as he nodded for me to come in.

"You know, Ezra," Leon opened his mouth as I entered the room, closing the door behind me. I blinked at him in confusion, wondering what it was that he wanted from me. "Yes, sir?" I replied and he motioned for me to come to stand next to him as he sat on the sofa. "Do you think of me as a man who would cheat on someone as lovely as Eve?" He asked in a small tone and I stared, thinking about whether or not it was a rhetorical question and about whether or not this man was seriously serious.

Then I thought about it. I looked at the man in front of me, his salt and pepper hair falling in strands over his eyes as he stared at nothing in particular, exceptionally defeated. I couldn't see any scars or bruises on his body, but I knew that they were all mental. "...no I don't." It was the honest truth. Every time I came around him and Eve together, he looked at her as she had the sun, the moon, and the stars coming out of her ass. Despite her treatment towards him, I knew he'd never wrong her.

I could've been wrong though, so no one quote me on that.

"At least someone believes me," I stared at him, wondering what he was talking about. I had a feeling I was treading into dark territory, but he made it no mission to tell me to leave. I smoothed down my apron as he stood up, walking over to where the window was. "About four years ago, I was at a grand opening for one of my hotels. Eve wasn't with me, said she had a patient that day. I had made that event open to the public because it was for them, you know?" Leon clicked his teeth.

"I was about four shots of tequila in when she being Cassidy, walked up to me," He snorted in disbelief, completely blaming himself and I listened intently. "I thought nothing of her because all I need is Eve. I just talked her like I would talk to anyone else, about business. It was around 6:30 when I realized that I had been drinking some wine that I never ordered. I thought nothing of it," He gritted his teeth, clenching his hand. "Until I woke up next to her, naked. I had no recollection of what happened and I'm not saying that is an excuse. The next thing I knew, she found me a few days later and told me that she was pregnant with my child," Leon sighed heavily and I blinked, watching the story unfold.

Holy shit.

Holy literal shit.

"I was fully prepared to do whatever it was that she needed despite not knowing the truth. All she wanted at the time was money for me to get an abortion," I stared in disbelief, realizing that Cassidy was a lot more toxic than she seemed. "I didn't want to kill a child, but she blackmailed me into giving her money, said that she had videos of that night. She killed the child and then told the SA news that I raped her and that I forced her to kill that child. Eve was so devastated when she found out, and I didn't even have the heart to tell her that I remembered nothing," Leon rubbed his eyes and I swallowed tightly. "In exchange for her secrecy of the videos she had, I had to give her money," He explained, which told me that Cassidy was a prostitute or something of that nature.

"Little did I know, it wasn't my child that was killed. It was some other unfortunate soul," He confessed and I furrowed my brows, wondering if that indeed was the truth. "I didn't tell Eve because what good would it do now?" He whispered, realizing that he had been taken advantage of. I wasn't going to pry even if I did want to know, because he looked utterly and totally broken.

"How do I know you're not lying, Mr. Leon?" I twiddled with my fingers, watching him as he looked out of the window. Leon nodded as if he understood my question and then he turned to me, a sad smile on his face. There was a tear coming from his eye and my heart lurched for him. He seemed so sad.

"Why would I want to ruin the best marriage I'll ever have?"

I said nothing, his words having a lasting impression on my mind. Then he continued. "If you see her again, please just tell me before things get worse," I nodded, that having been the last thing that he said. Luckily for me, it was time for me to go. It was pressing 7 and I had food to go eat. I made sure that the house was clean for its workers and I kissed Noelani goodbye, Jude being the lucky soul to watch her. Then I made my escape, avoiding Easton.

I made sure that no one saw me leave as I skipped down the stairs, my pretty car just in sight to take me away from this hellhole. I pulled my keys out, hearing the car chirp on command. Today was a really odd day, and I had a feeling tomorrow would be worse. Once I was a few feet away from the driver's side, I realized that something was amiss. "S-shit!" I cursed, patting my jeans pocket. I forgot my fucking phone. "I don't have time for this," I shivered, clutching my jacket under the harsh whisper of the fall wind. I remembered putting in down on one of the tables in the foyer after my conversation with Travis.

God damn Travis.

Well, it looked like I had to go back in. I spun on the ball of my feet, blowing an angry out as I stormed back towards the entrance of the Lawrence mansion. The night sky was a dark blue above my head, seldom stars twinkling as they tried to remove the feeling of isolation from me. Here in this dark house, full of its secrets and lies, I always felt held apart from everyone else and I knew that it was because I was just the maid. I should just clean and mind my business. However, that would've been the case had I not have been dragged further and further by every single family member.

"Stop!" I heard a giggle and I nearly died on the spot. I paused in my steps, scurrying over to hide behind a pillar at the first sound of a voice. "Stop it!" I peeked my head out, seeing Natalie in the arms of a dude that looked oddly taller and broader than the man that I ran into the first time I stayed late. I narrowed my eyes, trying to see what was going on. The dude leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, grabbing her waist. So was he the main boyfriend or what? He looked so much like a deadbeat person, who needed money for the bare necessities. No judging, but what was Natalie doing with him?

"Here," She muttered, handing him a stack of cash, her eyes trailing down his body as she licked her lips. "You were good. I gave you a little extra," She smiled, but nothing could hide the broken look in her eyes as he blew her a kiss. "Don't tell anyone," I heard her whisper and I frowned, wondering what she was talking about. "You have my word." The man smiled and walked away in the direction of the mansion gate. Natalie's smile fell so quickly as she turned around, fixing her skirt as she headed back in the house.

I stood for a few, absolutely dumbfounded before I gave myself the courage to go let myself inside the house. I scanned the foyer area, seeing my phone on site. "Yes," I hissed, running over to it. I grabbed it off of the foyer table, thankful that it was somewhere where I could find it. "Bless fuck," I kissed my phone, so happy that it was untouched. Now, all that was left for me was to get the hell out of dodge.

"Hey!" I heard a girly voice and I turned around in front of the door, seeing Cassidy Novak standing there, wearing a tight black dress and a white fur coat draped over with the tallest heels that one had ever made. I blinked at her, thinking that I was hallucinating from the conversation with Leon earlier, but she really was standing before me in the dark, just a door between. I stepped closer, knowing she could hear me.

"Are you even supposed to be here?" I asked, realizing that she had some dire intention, otherwise she wouldn't keep showing up. She always came when it was just me and I was getting so annoyed by it. It could've been guilt as well, considering the last time I went to go tell Leon about her, he got a large wound on his cheek from his wife. "No, but can you do me a favor please?" I shook my head in response to her questions because every time she lurked her way in, bad things happened.

But Cassidy didn't take the hint.

"Tell Leon that I need for him to return my calls," She let out a breath, looking over her shoulder as her heels clicked together to dispel the cold air of the wind. I gripped the door handle, looking at her uncertainly. "I-I don't think I should—" She plastered her hands against the door, her eyes begging as the wind began to pick up, ruffling the fur coat that she was wearing. "Please!" Cassidy pleaded and I bit my lip, frowning.

I knew that I wasn't supposed to get myself involved but if I was being absolutely honest, I was already in too deep. I knew that I was supposed to go tell Leon everything, but I feared what would happen if I didn't. I didn't want the situation to escalate because I knew that if I put it off and did nothing about her persistence, Leon would soon face her as an issue and who knew what that would lead to with Eve? Who knew what this girl had up her sleeve?

"...fine." I caved, mentally slapping myself. The hole that I was digging was just getting bigger and I was the human shovel. She smiled brightly, clasping her hands together. "Thank you so much! Thank you!" She looked utterly happy as she tranced down the steps in her 'attire' and I sighed, turning around.

Well, here goes. I started walking around, having a vague idea of where Leon would be at the time. I had to make sure I was quiet though, so no one knew that I was here. It felt odd, being in the place that I worked after work hours. I felt like I was sneaking in, even though I had a key. I sighed and walked towards the back of the house, where I knew Leon could've been.

"Mr. Leon?" I spoke, stepping into one of the sitting rooms. I walked around, stopping by the door that was connected to the bathroom, wondering if he was in there. I didn't hear a response as I closed the door, feeling a tense air ripple behind me. I blinked nervously as someone spoke, fear wrenching through my stomach.

"My brother-in-law isn't here," A voice spoke as the door to the actual sitting room slammed, the sound of a lock piercing the air. "But you can talk to me," I gulped, turning around slowly on the balls of my feet, anxiety coating my entire beating as I locked eyes with the one man that made me feel so terrified. He smirked, taking his hand off of the knob, loosening his tie as he took a step forward, inching closer to me. The atmosphere felt entirely off and sweat started to form.

"So," Easton's lecherous eyes trailed my body from head to toe, his tongue wetting his lips and I grimaced, feeling a bit disgusted and cornered. I could feel panic rising in my veins as I internally screaming, trying to understand what the hell was happening.

"You're the maid."
