4. Jimmy on his Shakespeare arc
(1st Person PoV: Jimmy's)
(Whoa! Point of View change!)
I got discarded from the hospital a day later but Norman's offer was still fresh in my mind.
What to do about it?
"Jimmy! I heard that you were hospitalized but you're doing ok right?" Gem asked, concerned.
"Huh? Oh y-yeah...I'm fine. No need to worry," I assured her.
Gem didn't seem to believe me but she didn't push.
School went almost as normal...until I reached my third period class.
"Katherine Elizabeth?" The teacher was taking attendance.
No response.
"Ok...not here," The teacher wrote something down.
Some people began to whisper among themselves. Katherine has one of the best attendance records of anyone in the class and she rarely gets sick!
That's bound to raise some eyebrows and I looked at my desk with guilt.
Something tells me that I shouldn't say anything about what I saw. I didn't want to worry anyone and I doubt anyone would believe me.
Class went by like a blur and next class came.
"Joey Graceffa?" The teacher asked. No response.
"Not here," they wrote something down.
I continued to stare at my desk, not meeting anyone's eyes.
"Jimmy, you good?" Joel, who sat next to me, asked with worry.
"Y-yeah," I nodded.
"Are you sure?" Joel asked.
I just nodded.
Joel didn't seem to believe me but before he could say anything, the teacher tapped their ruler on their desk to get our attention.
"Today we are learning about-," they started but I spaced out.
Not listening to the teacher which is a thing that I rarely do.
Class ended.
My next class had the same thing happened. Only then, I have all three of the missing students in my class. My missing friends...
Suddenly my desk felt tiny and cramped. I kept squirming around it, gaining tunnel vision and how the voices of my classmates and teacher were drowned out.
I felt cold and my throat began to hurt.
What's wrong with me?
"Jimmy Solidarity? Jimmy Solidarity!" I snapped out of it because the teacher's loud voice.
Everyone was staring at me and I gulped.
"Y-yeah?" I asked.
"Are you feeling alright? Do you need to go to the nurse's office?" The teacher asked but I shook my head.
"I think...I think I just need to use the restroom," I muttered.
"Ok...," the teacher said and I got up from my desk and went to the bathroom, everyone's eyes were on me.
I arrived there and splashed some water on my face.
What was that? What's wrong with me? I never reacted like that before!
Was it because of the guilt or something else?
I took a couple of deep breaths as the cold water ran down my face.
Should I tell them what happened to Katherine, Joey and Shubble?
Should I?
...
No...no I shouldn't...but why? Why shouldn't I?
"I don't think they'll believe me," I muttered.
"Who won't believe you?" A voice behind me asked.
I jumped in surprise and turned around.
It was Scott who asked.
"Ah! N-nothing! Just talking to myself ha ha!" I laughed nervously.
Scott rose an eyebrow but he didn't push.
He then looked down at my shirt before looking up at me.
"How are you holding up? I heard that you were hospitalized," he asked.
"I'm doing fine surprisingly. I healed up rather fast...umm I guess I was just lucky!" I exclaimed.
For a split second, I swore I saw Scott's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
But when I got a good look at him, he just seemed concerned.
"Ok...well you should probably head back to class. Don't want to be yelled at," Scott murmured.
"Yes you're right! I'm off! Cya whenever we have another period together!" I said rather quickly and waved goodbye.
I ran out of the bathroom and went to class.
I was asked a lot of questions but I brushed them off, saying that I was fine and all.
Eventually, my guilt came back whenever I would stare at the empty seats. They're supposed to be here.
Supposed to be here, learning and interacting with other people.
They're not supposed to be a monster. Or whatever that was.
No
No
No!
(Sometime later. 3rd Person PoV)
In the sewers, the blob was arguing among themselves.
One of the humans really wants out but part of the Parasite isn't letting her. Her wish isn't that selfish enough though.
How can that be?!
The other two's wishes were so why not hers?
They need to attack soon and gather more humans.
If only that human didn't get in the way...
(Time skip to Friday: 1st Person PoV)
"Jimmy, you look more tired than usual. Fwip told me that you aren't responding to the messages on Discord and you barely show up to the meetings of Student Council and you're the president," Gem told me.
"Sorry...I just have a lot on my mind," I muttered.
"Really?" Gem sounded concerned.
"N-nothing that you should worry about," I assured her.
Gem didn't seem to believe me but before she could say anything, we both heard some people talking as they came into home room.
"Did you see Shubble's parents coming in to the office today? They were asking about her whereabouts because apparently she has been missing for nearly three days!" One said.
"I bumped into Joey's mom at the store yesterday and she was frantically putting up missing posters for him and Katherine. I hear their parents are really close and are so worried for them," another said.
"They're missing? I mean I know that they haven't come to school these past few days but them being completely missing!? I never thought of that," Gem gasped.
I stood up immediately and ran out of the classroom, breathing heavily.
I went to some stairs that lead to the first floor to the second and slid down.
Oh god oh god! This is all my fault! Why did this happen? Why? Why? Why? Now law enforcement is going to be involved and I know what happened but they might not believe me! Why am I that stupid to not tell anyone? No I know why! I thought, my breathing becoming quick and sharp.
"No one will believe me," I muttered.
Just then, I heard footsteps and I hid behind the stairs.
I looked up cautiously to see Scott standing there and looking around as if he didn't want anyone to eavesdrop on him.
He grabbed his bag and took out the keychain.
He made some kind of hand gesture with his pointer and middle finger, not too shy off of a gesture in the anime named Naruto. It was close to his mouth.
"Silver," he muttered and a silvery glow appeared in his hand.
Out of that glow, a small animal popped out and landed in Scott's hands.
It was a llama no bigger than a stuffed animal.
The weird thing is that it moved and yawned.
"God, being a keychain makes my back stiff!" The llama said.
"Owen, people are talking about the missing people! Not enough magic that I can do can make illusions to forget about them temporarily until we find a way to get them back!" Scott said in an urgent voice.
"Geez...anyway we need to speed it up. The more they're in the Parasite, the more powerful and smarter the Parasite will be! Norman is telling that he might have found the second one but the decision still hasn't been made!" The llama named Owen explained.
"I don't know why I need a partner. I fought the Parasites myself just fine," Scott sighed.
"But that isn't enough. The Parasites may be slow in gaining information but they're deadly intelligence! They are now taking humans as hosts and are draining their energy for their own benefit," Owen pointed out.
"..." Scott then glared at the floor.
"Look, I understand that you like to work alone for the most part and I'm "just the mascot" to you, but unfortunately, the second Empire Magic might be needed to defeat the Parasites and get the humans back safe and sound! Norman said that today is the last day for that person that he found to make hi-their decision," Owen added on.
"Fine...but they better not get in the way," Scott muttered.
"I knew you would come around," Owen's llama tail shook happily.
"Keychain," Scott made an X movement with his fingers and an orange glow appeared.
Owen the llama turned small and unmoving. He was back to a keychain.
Scott left and I was there, taking shaky breaths.
I tried to recall my rescuer's face but still, nothing.
Why is it hard to remember? Why?
"...I think I know what to do now," I sighed.
They were talking about Norman, the same Norman that I talked to three days ago.
Enough was enough I guess.
In order to get my friends back...
I need to become a Magical Boy!
(Time skip to after school. 3rd Person PoV)
Norman was sitting upon the duck statue's head like a furry little hat.
He yawned and saw that many people were leaving the park. It was sunset and almost evening. Humans usually never go to parks during nighttime.
Will he even show up? He had three days to think about it. Maybe I had my hopes too high, Norman thought.
He remembered the other day that Owen kept nagging him about who did he find and will they accept.
Norman shook his head.
I'll wait here until midnight and then I'll leave, he thought but then he heard some footsteps.
He looked over to see Jimmy walking over to the duck statue.
He purred and jumped down.
"Soooooo? What's your decision?" Norman asked.
"Norman...I accept your offer. I will fight the Parasites using the Empire Magic that you provide me and save my friends!" Jimmy stated.
Norman's whiskers twitched and he purred again.
"That's what I like to hear," he clawed the Sheriff badge off his collar and pushed it towards Jimmy with his paw.
"Take it and I'll show you how to transform," Norman explained, seeing Jimmy's confused look.
"Ah," Jimmy held the badge in one hand.
"Make a semi circle on the ground with your right leg. Like this," Norman showed with his paw, Jimmy following his example.
"Have your left hand over your heart, make sure that you're holding the badge and have your right hand outstretched to your right side," Norman showed.
"Now hold out your right hand in front of you and make a fist then say the word: Tumble Town. Empires...Go on!" Norman explained.
"Tumble Town?" Jimmy asked.
"Long story. Now say it!" Norman snapped.
"Alright...," Jimmy did the final part before saying, "Tumble Town. Empires...GO ON!"
A golden glow surrounded Jimmy and it felt warm surprisingly.
Out of that glow, came out Jimmy but he was wearing different clothes.
"What the-?" Jimmy asked but then he heard some clapping.
"Hail! Sheriff of Tumble Town!" Norman meowed, while clapping.
"Why am I wearing different clothes? Is that what the glow did?" Jimmy asked.
"That's your battle outfit. The Parasites will eat you up for breakfast in your flimsy clothes of before. Now the glow was too bright for me to see your transformation sequence but that's essentially what it did. Don't worry, there is no fan service," Norman assured him.
"Ah...so now what?" Jimmy asked.
Norman's ears twitched and he looked over to the horizon.
"My partner is telling me to hurry up and get my chosen to battle. His chosen is doing the best he can but he'll need backup. Don't worry, you don't need any training for fighting. All the knowledge of the past user is ingrained in there so use that to your advantage," Norman explained.
"What? I'm fighting a Parasite now?!" Jimmy cried.
"Yes now follow me!" Norman ran off with Jimmy following him.
A/N: if I could animate good, I would absolutely show the transformation sequence. But I'm still a beginner sadly but one day I swear!
Here's what Jimmy's Magical Boy outfit looks like if you haven't seen my art book...the second one:
Yeah! I'll show the next one when he appears.
Epic battle will be in the next chapter so...
Cya in the next one -Flare
