1. Slow but steady

(Third Person PoV)

"Did you hear?"

"Hear about what?"

"There's a new student transferring here!"

"Really from where?

"I don't know."

"Awww! Wait are they a boy, girl, both, other?"

"Why are you so interested?"

"I-I'm not!"

That was the conversation that Jimmy heard as he left for DnD club.

A new student? I haven't heard anything from the teachers about a new student yet, he thought as he walked through the hallway.

As he entered the classroom, only the president and vice president of the club were there. Oh and the new member who was napping in the corner.

"Oh Jimmy! You're here, early as usual," Fwip Tay, the DnD club president, exclaimed.

"You know it!" He nodded.

"Can you help me bring out the tables?" Pixriffs, the vice president, asked and Jimmy nodded.

As Pix and Jimmy were bringing out the tables for this week's campaign, more members came in.

"Need any help?" False Symmetry asked as she approached Pix and Jimmy.

"We just need the board and dice. Can you get them? They're in a blue container," Pix explained.

As False went to grab the board and container, Sausage Mythical went to wake up the new member, Oli Sound.

"Ah! Oh god I fell asleep again!" Oli jumped up in surprise.

"It's ok!" Sausage assured him.

"Oli!! Did you like the outfit I made for your character?" Katherine Elizabeth asked, excitedly.

"You made me a bard!" Oli complained.

"Sausage and Fwip told me that you were a bard," Katherine pointed out.

"No, I told them that I was a Dragon Slayer!" Oli explained.

"There's no Dragon Slayer role so we went with the next best thing," Fwip explained.

"Hello fellow DnD players! I'm back from visiting my cousins!" Lizzie Shadow burst through the door.

"Hi Lizzie!" Everyone waved.

"Lizzie! I got your cat ears and tail ready!" Katherine said happily.

"Thank you so so much!" Lizzie looked excited.

"Ok, to your spots! Jimmy and I have prepared the tables and False prepared the board!" Fwip announced.

"Alright!" Everyone cheered. Then Shubble YT walked in, fiddling with her hair.

"Am I late?" She asked, timidly.

"No no, we're just starting so you're here on time. We're just waiting for Joey, Gem and Joel," Fwip assured her.

Shubble smiled before going to take her spot on the table, next to Katherine.

"I'm here!" Joey Graceffa said loudly with Gem Tay behind him.

"Ok so now we're missing Joel," Fwip noted.

"I swear if he's late again," Jimmy muttered under his breath.

At least I would be free of the toy jokes this campaign, he thought.

"Sorry sorry I'm late! The teacher had to speak to me about my homework," Joel Beans came in, looking like he ran a marathon to get over here.

Nevermind!

The campaign went as normal. Or as normal as a DnD campaign would go.

"I use my super sexy god powers to slay those zombies!" Joel exclaimed.

"Joel! I need them for my Nekomancy powers!" Lizzie shouted.

"Sanctuary is getting overflowed by skeletons help!" Sausage yelled.

"I'll save you Sausage!!" Oli jumped in.

"Which one of you decided it would be a good idea to steal my items? I wanted to give them to my pirate princess!" Joey snapped.

"Not your pirate princess!" Katherine pointed out.

"You stole my honey! Both in DnD and in real life!" Gem shouted.

"Jimmy no! I need to preserve that fossil!" Pix yelled.

"But if I roll a seven or a ten, I can collect the rare items from it!" Jimmy pointed out.

"Wait I rolled a five! What does that mean?!" Shubble gasped.

"It means you fake your death," Fwip explained while reading off of the manual.

"Whaaaa?"

"I can help with that," False volunteered.

Yep! Utter chaos was the norm for the DnD Club. And they were fine with it.

"Alright! We can stop for today! Next week, same time, same place. We'll pick up from where we ended today," Fwip said as the grandfather clock that was in the corner of the room struck five.

"Guys, I have an announcement to make!" Joel suddenly stood up.

"An announcement?" False looked up from filling in a sheet.

"Yep! I'm hosting a party at my house and you're all invited!" Joel exclaimed.

"A party?" Katherine clapped her hands, excitedly.

"Yep! Saturday night, be there or be square," Joel said.

"I'll see if my student council president duties don't interfere with Saturday night," Jimmy muttered.

"Come on Jimmy! You got to come! You didn't go last time," Joel complained.

"I was busy!" Jimmy exclaimed.

"Yeah I can be there," Pix said as he cleaned up the mess on the board.

One by one, the members of the DnD club agreed to go to Joel's party on Saturday night.

After cleaning up, the members left school to go home.

Jimmy walks alone from school to home. His neighbor is a nice, peaceful place. Nothing for him to worry about.

However...

Jimmy ran as fast as he could and hid behind a brick wall.

He could hear someone threatening another person with a knife. Saying to give them their money.

This engagement went on for five minutes where the person eventually gave in and their money was taken from them.

Jimmy couldn't tell who the unfortunate person was but he recognized the thief.

Or thieves, he should say.

They call themselves, The Golden Thieves. Lame name, Jimmy thinks, but the thieves themselves weren't lame...in fact they were extremely dangerous.

Jimmy's parents always warn him to keep his nose clean and keep himself out of trouble when it comes to those thieves.

He wished the walk home was as peaceful as his neighborhood.

Once he made sure that they were gone, Jimmy ran away to his house.

Dinner was a blur and so was homework.

He was checking his schedule and yeah, he seemed to be free on Saturday.

I can tell Joel that I can go this time, he thought and went to text him but then, he felt like a pair of watchful eyes that were staring at him.

But when he looked out the window, he didn't see who or what was looking at him.

"........maybe it's just my imagination," he muttered but he had doubts.

The next day came by like a blur.

Jimmy did his usual routine of getting up, changing, eating breakfast, brushing his teeth, washing his face, grabbing his backpack and walking to school.

But as he was walking to school, he couldn't help but feel like someone or something was watching him.

But when Jimmy turned around and was looking around, he couldn't see who.

This was creeping Jimmy out so instead of walking, he ran to school.

"Yo Pres...you good?" Someone asked and Jimmy nodded.

Even if, he looked like he's seen a ghost.

"Hi Jimmy," Gem waved as she walked in.

Out of all the DnD club members, Gem is the only one that he shares a home room with.

"Hey Gem...have you heard that there's someone transferring here?" He asked and she nodded.

"Yeah. As one of the school ambassadors, I'm one of the first people who know. Since you're the Student Council President, you should have also known," Gem explained.

"I didn't know until yesterday," Jimmy shrugged.

"Well that's weird," Gem noted.

The bell rung and everyone scrambled to their seats.

Jimmy sits in the middle. He likes being in the middle.

The teacher walked in, holding onto a ruler and a couple of papers.

"Before I start taking attendance, we have a new student who is joining us. Come along," he motioned to someone.

A guy with cyan hair, teal eyes and has a ponytail, walked in. He was holding onto his bag, a llama keychain was dangling from it.

He took the chalk and wrote something on the board.

Once he was done, he stood near it and we can all see what his name is.

'Scott Smajor'

"This is Scott Smajor. He recently moved here so please be welcoming to him," the teacher said.

"Hello," he said. It was plain and simple.

"There's an empty spot by the window. You can take that," the teacher pointed.

He walked over there, eyes glued to the seat and not looking at anyone.

As Scott sat down, he put one hand under his chin and stared out the window.

He wasn't paying attention to the teacher.

This kind of ticked Jimmy off but it was his first day. Maybe he's just getting used to the school.

I'll leave him off the hook for now, he thought.

A/N: the brainrot is real. So new book, I know I know. I have like three other drafts all FlowerHusbands centric. As my friend Jasper would say, "FlowerHusbands addict /lh"

Anyways! A bit of a slow start for this book. The chapters themselves will be around 1500 words or more or less! Maybe over 2000 if I'm writing an important chapter.

Also I never played DnD so I don't know how it goes so take it with a grain of salt. I want to though! Sounds fun!

Also there's something different about Scott. Can you guess what? 👀

So yeah that's it. I'll post designs some other time. Hope you enjoyed it!
