Flashback

Duruyodhana's pov

He was thinking so long and looked up.
"After hearing all their vows my heart has weakened my dear, Mythra," I pretended to cry.
"I think Karna can protect you, my son. You were his friend before Dhaksha. You stood for him and gave him pride. Don't worry, my son. Angaraj will protect you," Mamashree said.
"I promise you that no matter what. I would stay by your side and fight for you," he replied. "But under one condition," he added.
"What is it, my dear, Mynthra?"
"I want you to apologize to my Sakhi, Dhaksha. Will you do it for me, my dear Mynthra?" he pleaded.

"But-"
"Angaraj, my dear, Duruyan, would come and apologize to your Sakhi." Mamashree smiled at me.

"He's cooking some stupid stories which I can't understand."
"I still don't understand what you are trying to say, Mamashree." I nodded my head.
"You never going to listen to me. Nobody's going to believe that I'm smarter than Vasudeva Krishna," he shouted.
"Why would he drag that Krishna now?"
"I'm saying that, if you are embarrassed by becoming a fat caterpillar, you will never fly high as a butterfly," he said.
"Caterpillars? Butterflies?"
"I'd rather go and apologize to her instead of listening to you talk," I walked
"At least apologize to her properly." I heard him shout.

Back to normal

"Why are you apologizing, Rajkumar Vikarna? You did nothing but born to be their brother. You can't do anything but watch." she replied.
"Should I apologize, Dhaksha?" Duruyodhana walked toward us.
"Why did you bring this dumb being here?
"Dhaksha, I came to apologize to you. I'm sorry. Now go back to living with your Aarya Arjuna." he said
"Is this why you brought him here? To save your Mynthra from the Pandavas?" she asked.
"This Karna couldn't sleep, fight or eat anything. I've been thinking about how I saw you in Draupdi's arm the other day. I wanted to make this right." I said.

"What did you say? Save me from the Pandavas? Save your Pandavas from us. Save your Aarya from my Sakha, Karna." Duruyodhana raised his voice.
"Alright, If you want me to forgive you. You have to touch the feet of the Pandavas and apologize. I'll accept-"
"No way. It was a big deal apologizing to you." Duruyodhana neglected.
"Just apologize to them, Bhaiya. This can end a war." Vikarna asked.
"Keep quiet, Vikrana," Duruyodhana shouted back at him.

"Alright, I'll start a war which this dynasty shall never forget. As I vowed, I'll bathe in your blood and purify myself. I'll make your head roll down on the ground so that the women in our society can keep their heads up so high." she started to walk away.

"This was a side of Dhaksha that I've never seen before."
"That's very funny. My head? On the ground?" Duruyan laughed. " Vikarna, let's leave. Karna, let her be."

"Dhaksha, please wait." I stopped her by her wrist.
"What else do you need from me?" she pulled her wrist from my grip.
"This Karna can't stay like this. Talk to me, please. I can't live with this guilt."
"The Karna that I knew wouldn't let me like this. He's the most caring and loving person I've ever met. But you are not that person anymore." she replied.
"Trust me, I'm still the same person. Same Karna who loves you and cares for you unconditionally. I just can't stand to have you on the other side."

"I have you on the other side and my husband on this side. How would I feel, Karna? This is torment for me."
"Proving myself to the world is my dream. That involves proving to the world that I'm better than your husband. Lastly, being with Duruyodhana is drama for me. He gave me this position and everything. He's the reason behind everything."

"If you have decided to be on his side. I'm going to be on my Aarya's side. Note that." she replied.
"If fate wants us to be on a different side. Let it be, Dhaksha. Remember, You'll be my Sakhi forever. No one can take you away from me and my heart. Farewell, Dhaksha. I'll wait for you to forgive me."

Dhaksha'pov

"My Sakha, Karna said those heartbreaking words and walked away. Why would the god want them to be on a different side?"
