Chapter 56: Dance Lessons & Shower

Dance Lessons & Shower

"Oi, Freya." I heard a voice near my ear and someone was poking me. I opened my eyes and turned toward the voice. The first thing I noticed was that I was no longer on the train. The second thing I noticed was that I was lying in a bed. The last thing I noticed was that Natsu was beside me.

"Natsu?" I sat up and rubbed my eyes, "What happened?" He chuckled, "You've been sleeping forever. I tried to wake you up on the train but you wouldn't budge! So I carried you here." He said with a smile. "Y-you carried me here from the train?" I asked in complete disbelief.
He looked at me and nodded like it was no big deal. "Ah," he said simply.

Natsu walked toward the hotel door and said over his shoulder. "We have to get something to eat before we start this job, I'm starving!" When was he not? I smiled softly, "Wait for me!," I yelled as I scrambled off the bed after him.

***************

Our food had just arrived and Natsu had already dug in. I smiled and shook my head at him. I picked up my fork and began to eat my own food.

The ball.

I huffed out a breath and faced Natsu. "Natsu, I have to ask you something." He stopped and looked at me with a questionable expression on his face.

"What about?"

I swallowed thickly, "Umm, did you happen to know that...we are supposed to attend a ball to catch this guy?"

Natsu paused for a moment before answering, "Mmm, I did. Why?" I sat back in my chair. "You do realize that we have to dance, right?" Natsu just nodded his head and went back to eating.

He didn't seem bothered by it at all! I leaned forward, "Natsu, do you even know how to dance?" He looked at me and smiled, "Nope!" Of course you don't. I smiled and laughed. It was all up to me now.
*******
"Okay, Natsu, this may be the hardest thing you have ever done or faced." I told him. "Are you ready?" He nodded, a determined look written across his face. I stepped forward, grabbed his hand, and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Lets dance, then."

We were currently in our hotel room and I was teaching Natsu to dance. I had to admit he wasn't that bad. His hand was warm in mine and his hand that was on my waist was very distracting.
Other than that, everything was going smoothly...until he stepped on my foot. I yelped and tried to take a step back. I lost my balance instead. With a shriek I tried to right myself before I fell.

Natsu tried to help but all he succeeded in doing was to make it worse! I made a grab for something to hold on to and that something just happened to be Natsu's shoulder.

When I fell I brought him with me. We hit the bed's side, bounced off of it, and landed on the floor with a thud. I hit the ground on my back and Natsu landed on top of me. He managed to stop himself by using his elbows so he wouldn't crush me. I let out a deep breath and laughed.

I looked up and my laugh stopped short when my eyes connected with a pair of green ones. I blinked and that's when I noticed the situation. Natsu's arms were wrapped around me and my hands were fisted in his vest. Our legs were entangled together and our chests were rubbing against each other's.

We were both staring at each other now. Locked in each other's gazes. I didn't know what to do. I-I loved how he was looking down at me and I loved how close we were to each other. I didn't want to do anything about this.

But...I knew I had to. "Well, not bad for your first try." I said with a smile. Natsu blinked and he slowly smiled. "I think I didn't do so bad." With a glint in his eye he lifted himself off me.

I don't think you did so bad either...nope. He did quite all right. Natsu extended his hand toward me and I reached up and I took it. He pulled me up with ease and after a moment we began to dance again.

After I had taught Natsu ever step I knew in dance it was already night. I had taken a shower and now I was in bed listening to the water run in the bathroom as Natsu took his shower. I was staring up at the ceiling banging my head against the pillow when the water stopped.

I grabbed another soft pillow and covered my face with it. I couldn't handle this. I couldn't handle the knowledge that Natsu was in the shower...I started to hit myself with the pillow again.

This was why I didn't hear the bathroom door opening.

I jumped when a voice said, "Why is that pillow attacking you?" My face turned red and I quickly threw the pillow to the side.
So embarrassing.

I turned to answer him and I choked on the air itself when I saw him. First words that came to my mind?

Hot. Damn.

Steam was coming from the open bathroom door and it was surrounding him. Natsu had a towel wrapped around his waist and he was holding another towel from each side around his neck.
His scarf was already wrapped around his neck.

I couldn't move, open my mouth, or say a sound to save my life as I stared at him.
Against my will, (and my better judgement), my eyes landed on his chest. His muscles rippled when he ran his hand through his wet hair that had been hanging in his eyes. Little water droplets dripped down his face, rolled down his neck, and onto his chest. The sparkling droplet went up in a small cloud of steam due to his body temperature.

His muscles looked rock solid. It didn't look like Natsu had a soft spot on him. I should know, since I spent time in his body, when we switched.

I blinked and forced my eyes to meet his.
Natsu's green eyes were dazzling as he watched me.
I swallowed thickly and whispered out an, "Umm, no reason."

He shrugged his powerful shoulders as he began to turn away and that made his biceps harden. My eyes darted away and I flopped back on my back. I covered my face with the pillow once again and I listened to him as he moved around the room. Probably searching for his clothes.

"Why didn't you just bring you're clothes into the bathroom with you?" My voice was muffled by the pillow. But, a small, (big), part of me was glad that he hadn't.

I knew he must have heard me because of his Dragon Hearing or whatever. So when I didn't hear him answer or just didn't hear him in general. I decided to peak out from the safety of my pillow.

The room was empty.

"What the hell! Natsu?!" I shouted. I looked over and sure enough, the window was wide open.

"Door, Natsu...door." I sighed and fell back into my pillows. Where the hell did he run off too? I grabbed a pillow and snuggled with it. I let out a sad sigh.

This was going to be a lonely night...or so I thought.
