Chapter 30: Fireworks

Fireworks

"Ow!"

"I'm sorry, Freya-Chan!"

"Damn that Laxus!"

I growled as Wendy touched my face again. As she began to heal me again, I made eye contact with Laxus. He was standing a few feet away from me with the Thunder God Tribe. They were all staring at me. I looked away and my eyes found Gajeel, Levy, and Lily. He was okay.

Gajeel had woken up right after Natsu and I walked off the battlefield. Gajeel looked over at me and we both stared at each other for a moment. Then he nodded his head at me and looked back at Levy and Lily. The Dragon Slayer was surprised that he had lost to me but I could sense that he had some respect for me. I also had some respect for him, also. I had respect that he had lasted as long as he did against me.

"Ow, Wendy!" The little Mage apologized again and went back to work on my eye. "The lightning completely destroyed you're left eye, Freya-Chan." Wendy muttered regretfully, as if she had done it herself. "Wendy, you didn't do this. It isn't your fault, I'm sorry I yelled at you." Wendy smiled, "Don't worry, Freya-Chan, I can fix you." I smiled and nodded my head, "I know you can."

I looked up to the sky and smiled softly. The thunderclouds had gone away and now beautiful, twinkling stars shone brightly in the sky. I haven't even realized how late it had gotten. My Guild Mates had come over to me after I had walked off the battlefield. They had laughed and congratulated me.

Then Cana and even Gramps had yelled how some of my Guild Mates owed them money. I had tried to laugh with them, but that had just hurt my body. Natsu had brought me to Wendy, like he had promised that he would. Then, after making sure that I was okay with Wendy, he had left.

"Close you're eye for me, okay?" Wendy asked me softly.
I closed my eye and behind my eyelid I saw a very light shade of blue light flash. After a moment it was gone. I opened my eye and...I could see. I could see out of both them. I smiled at Wendy as I put my fingers gingerly to my left eye. Everything was a little blurry and the color of everything seemed a bit off.

But I didn't care in the slightest, I could see!

"Arigato, Wendy!" I said happily as I put my hand to the back of her head and pulled her head to my chest in a form of a hug. She giggled, "I'm happy that I could help you, Freya-Chan!" I chuckled and I let her go.

I winced when I tried to move my fingers. Wendy frowned and grabbed them, "Don't worry about that. This will only take a moment." She used her Healing Magic and then my fingers were healed in a matter of seconds. I think her once again and tried to stand. I masked the flash of pain that shot through my back.

I didn't want Wendy to use too much of her Magic on me. She was already looking pale and tired. So I waved goodbye and began to walk away. I glanced one last time at Laxus, to find him already staring at me. I put my hand in the air and flick my wrist at him. He blinked at me, put his hands in his pocket, looked away, and began walking away with his friends right behind him.

Just before he was lost from view, he glanced back at me, and I could've sworn that I saw him smile. See you later, Laxus, thanks for the fun.

I chuckled as I made my way through the massive sea of people, suddenly I felt someone staring at me. I glanced over my shoulder and searched the crowd. I saw a flash of orange hair, than nothing. I blinked and nearly ripped off Natsu's arm when he suddenly put his hand on my shoulder.

I looked over at his smiling face and winced when I took a good look. He had bruises and cuts all up and down his cheeks. The rest of his face hasn't been sparred, either. Before I could even think twice about my actions, I had already gently cupped his face. "Oh, Natsu, are you alright?" Natsu let out an amused breath. "Ah, I'm fine. What about you?" I just nodded, still worried about him.

"Natsu, you haven't seen Wendy yet, have you?" He shook his head, "My wounds don't matter when it comes to her health." I let out a breath as I slowly dropped my hands. "That's a nice thing to say." Natsu just shrugged just as Happy landed on top of his head.

I laughed and waved up at the blue cat. Happy waved back and poked Natsu in the head with his paw. "Nat-zuuuuu," Happy whined, "we have to go if we want to make it before it starts!"
Natsu grinned and patted his partner's head. "I know, Happy." I cocked my head to the side, "What's about to start?"
Natsu turned to me and pointed up to the sky, "Fireworks."

I smiled as I pivoted around, "Okay, see ya tomorrow!" I called out to them as I flicked my wrist in goodbye. "Wait, Fey!" Natsu called out to me as he once again grabbed my shoulder.
"Hmm?" I hummed as I turned around to face him. "Come watch the fireworks with us!" He said, excitedly. I blinked and quickly shook my head. "No, no, I don't want to be a bother to you and Happy." Just as the words left my mouth, Happy's ears perked up, and he jumped off of Natsu's head. Natsu and I watched as he flapped his wings...and went straight to Carla and Wendy.

I smirked, "Straight to his 'girlfriend'." I turned back to the Dragon Slayer, who looked betrayed. "That fish eating traitor." He muttered as fire shot out of his mouth. I smiled softly, grabbed his arm, and began to drag him to where the fireworks were supposed to take place at. "Don't worry, Natsu, you still have me."
I heard him laugh, "Ya, I still have you." His words made my heart jump against my chest.

You'll always have me...
******
"Hurry up, Natsu!" I told him excitedly as I ran to the top of the hill. "We're gonna miss the beginning!" Natsu ran after me, "I'm coming, Fey!"

I laughed breathlessly as I stopped and dropped down heavily on the grass at the top of the hill. Natsu was only a second behind me. With a sigh he fell onto the grass on his back.

"I didn't think you would be this excited, Fey." He said as he folded his hands behind his head. I looked away and stared up at the stars.
I swallowed and muttered, "I've never seen fireworks before." Natsu shot up and looked over at me in disbelief. "What! Never?"

I smiled and closed my eyes, "Nope." I said popping the 'p'. I sighed sadly, "I've never even been to a festival before." Natsu was silent for a moment.
I couldn't believe I had just told him that. I glanced over at him. What was it about him that made me open up? What was it about him that made me...trust him?

I waved my hand in the air, "Its really no big deal, anyway. I mean-" I was cut off when a warm hand gripped my own. I looked over my shoulder and my breath caught.

Natsu was looking at me with his green eyes shining. He linked his hand with mine and smiled widely. "Then I'm glad I was the first one to take you to see fireworks."
A small breath escaped me just as the fireworks began. A bright blue one went up into the air and exploded in a shower of blue sparkles. My gaze was taken away from the boy next to me and instead to the sky above.

As I watched, with fascination shining in my eyes, I felt Natsu move closer to me. I didn't take my eyes off the sky, though. Another one went off into the air and it exploded in a shower of orange. Without really thinking I leaned back into him. His warm arms wrapped around my middle and for a moment my body tensed up.

I took a calming breath and my body slowly relaxed. I was safe with him...I was safe. I was finally able to relax and enjoy the rest of the fireworks...next to the one boy who could make my heart stop. When the people announced that the show was about to end and that this would be the major event, I leaned forward in anticipation. I could feel Natsu's chest vibrate with a silent laugh as the last of the fireworks went up in the air.

There were so many different colors and they all went up at once. One after another with loud explosions. I narrowed my eyes up at the sky when I noticed that something was taking form. As the last firework went up I found myself with a huge smile on my face.

Because up in the sky, made entirely out of fireworks, was the Fairy Tail Symbol.

I let out a whoop and clapped. Natsu cheered from behind me and he was also clapping.
I turned to him and with a huge smile on my face. "That-that was amazing!" I said happily.

Without taking his eyes off me he muttered, "Beautiful..." When I looked at him, he quickly added, "The firework show." I chuckled and was about to stand up when I saw something out of the corner of my eye.
I looked away when the shadow of a man started to move toward us. I leaned closer to Natsu and said softly, "Someone is behind us."

Who could it be? Want to take a guess? Leave your guess in the comments and whoever guesses right, I will honor them in the next chapter! Wasn't they're moment beautiful? *swoons* lol, see ya, minna!
