Summer Day
I could never do such a thing, revenge is something my parents told me to never do. This strange man behind me, what does he want and why. He sounded like the young man who stopped me from before. With tears still streaming down my face, I turned and faced him. "Wha-what do you want," was all I could force out.
"Like I said earlier, I'm just here for the relic. Once I get it, me and my men will leave." His tone was serious, if only I knew the relic he spoke of, then I could get him to leave.
"And as I said earlier, I don't know what relic you speak of. But if you know the people who killed my parents, please don't keep it from me. Tell me, I want to know the monster who did it." My voice shook as I said it, but I certainly meant it. As I watched this cloaked figure, he began to shake slightly. I realised he was laughing, he stopped and walked to where I kneel on the ground. He looked down at me, then also took a knee. He looked at me, then reached up and pulled his hood back. His eyes caught my attention first, they were a fiery orange, something I've never seen anything like it. Overall he seemed to be in his early twenties with dark black hair, and a two scars that crossed each other on his cheek. I was taken aback by his looks, then he spoke.
"Listen here, you may not seem it, but your not the brightest one in your family, now are you? The culprit who killed them has been standing in front of you for our entire conversation." He spoke with such certainty, he even gave a grin as if to provoke me. And he did, my sadness turned to anger as I was seething, and sick to my stomach. How can someone be so sick? "I'm the one who gave the order to kill them. I'm the cause of their deaths, what do you have to say about this?" His grin turned into a crooked smile, I couldn't say anything. I couldn't do anything, then my body moved on its own, tackling the man. I started crying as we tumbled around. He wasn't even trying, then with quick moves, he was on top of me with his hand on my neck. He closed his hands around my neck, pressing and squeezing.
"Attacking a kings elite soldier, how brave of you. But that is a crime, therefore I must arrest you and take you back for trial. Unless you wish otherwise? You know I can end it all for you right here." He still had that smile, but even if I chose death, I knew I couldn't. Ashton was out there alone, I need to find him as soon as possible. But I couldn't if he were to arrest or kill me. "Not speaking?" He said, "That's fine of course." With that he quickly and easily tossed me, throwing me aside. He took a length of rope from out under his cloak and tied my wrists together, then pulled me to my feet. With my hands tied in front of me, he picked me up, spreading his black wings, we took off.
Away from my village we flew, from above the town looked in shambles. Shouts and screams could still be heard, even from this height. He flew us far away from the village. I'm scared for not only my future, but for the future of my brothers, and my country. Whatever is going on, I may not live to see another summer day...
Thank you so much for reading, hope your enjoying it. Thanks again to my friend for helping me get this uploaded.
